  1. That was one of the worst unblocked kicks I've ever seen in the NFL.
  2. Chaos? - Georgia blows out Bama in SEC title game - MSU wins out including BiG title game And with the two spots left: - Michigan beats Maryland and OSU - Cincy loses a game - Oregon loses a game - ND wins out - Wake Forest wins out - Oklahoma beats Oklahoma St in final game of Big 12 season but Oklahoma St wins rematch in Big 12 title game
  3. That can be bridged by one star free agent signing this offseason, IMO. You can’t build a team through free agency alone, but once you have enough of a young base you can top it up with a select high-profile signing.
  4. What a great past 7 months for the Red Wings: add talent in Vrana, Nedjkolvic, Raymond, Seider, and (to the organization) Edvinsson.
  5. Here’s Larkins first one, tv and radio calls
  6. Another tough angle goal!
  7. Yep, was just about to post it has been the very opposite of the 2nd. Wings hanging on.
  8. Very good period for the Wings. Full value for the 2-1 lead after 2.
  9. Two Wings goals in 45 seconds turn game around. Larkin’s shot on 1st goal would suggest he has fully recovered from 1st period hit
  10. Holy biased CBC announcer. Larkin was the victim not the problem on that shove into Allen.
  11. Under that (unlikely) scenario, Michigan would be no worse than #3 in the committee rankings and absolutely worthy. Home win over Ohio St, road wins over Wisconsin and Penn St, only loss being by 4 points on road to top 10 MSU. That resume can’t be beat by Big 12, by Oregon, by Cincy, by Notre Dame.
  12. A lot of déjà vu with the MSU game. QB fumble turned into a FG, Michigan trails 17-14 with just under 6 minutes to go.
  13. Penn State converts three 4th downs and a 2 point conversion to tie game 14-14. Same team that couldn’t do anything in 9 OTs a few weeks ago.
  14. Wings killed the long 5 on 3.
  15. Life imitates a Norm MacDonald joke a
  16. Nice, that helps a bit. I’m really anxious to see the Wings live, with Raymond, Seider and Ned. Don’t think I’m going home to Sarnia for Christmas though so probably must wait until they are here in March. Maybe go see their game against the Kraken too.
  17. Nedeljkovic came 3rd in Calder last year, surely he isn’t considered a rookie again, is he?
  18. I think it's a toss-up between the Tigers and Wings as to who will make the playoffs next, but I'd still lean towards the Tigers. My prediction on that will be impacted on how the Tigers' off-season goes. I'm hoping the Tigers contend for a spot in 2022, while I don't think the Wings will truly contend until 2022-23. Can the Wings stay in the playoff race this year until at least the Olympic break? Quite possibly. 8 teams in their division. Top 3 make it automatically. No reason the Wings can't finish above Buffalo, Montreal and Ottawa over the course of an 82-game season. But on the other hand, I think the Wings are still well behind Florida, Tampa, Boston and Toronto and wouldn't expect them to come within 10-15 points of even one of those teams this season. So the other route is to win one of the 2 wildcards, which means they would have to allow only the top 3 Metro teams to finish ahead of them. I think Carolina and Washington are a lock for two of the Metro top 3 spots. No reason the Wings can't finish ahead of New Jersey or Columbus. So that means only one of these four teams can finish ahead of the Wings for the Wings to make the playoffs: Pittsburgh, NYI, NY Rangers, Philly. I still think that's a stretch to expect the Wings to finish ahead of 3 of those 4 teams. But ask again at the 30-game mark.
  19. Look at the 2:30ish mark. That's a pretty impressive one-handed flick by Erne.
