  1. I was distracted by Iowa’s first drive but caught Givani Smith giving the Wings the lead back, 3-2.
  2. Wings lead 2-1, but failing to score on a 5 on 3 like the Wings did always seems to come back and haunt a team.
  3. If Houston beats Cincinnati, I don't see how the CFP isn't Georgia, Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame in some order, unless Michigan gets blown out by Iowa. update: Cincy now appears to be on its way, 28-13. Michigan needs to win to get in.
  4. Yeah, Cincy seems pretty rough with their up the middle playcalling. Bryce Young won the Heisman in the 1st half.
  5. Houston had 22 minutes time of possession in the 1st half to 8 for Cincinnati. 14-13 Cincy at the half.
  6. How many years has the band conductor been longing to call in The Victors for such a triumphant moment as at the 30 second mark here:
  7. Another rookie-of-the-month award for the Red Wings. This time to Raymond. https://www.nhl.com/redwings/news/lucas-raymond-november-nhl-rookie-of-the-month/c-328514716?utm_source=20211118_DRW_Newsletter_ RaymondRookieoftheMonth&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20211202_DRW_Newsletter_RaymondRookieMonth DETROIT -- The sample size is large enough now. The future of the Detroit Red Wings is right in front of our eyes. Red Wings standout rookie winger Lucas Raymond was named the NHL's "Rookie of the Month" for November on Wednesday, repeating the same honor his teammate, Moritz Seider, earned in October's opening month of the season. Raymond and Seider became the first duo to capture back-to-back NHL Rookie of the Month plaudits since Toronto's Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner in December 2016 and January 2017. Raymond edged Detroit goalie Alex Nedeljkovic for November's honor one month after Seider narrowly earned the award over Raymond in October. Raymond tallied five goals, seven assists and 12 points in 14 games played in November. He tallied points in nine games, including three separate three-game point streaks, and earned an average of 17:34 in ice time throughout the month.
  8. The Wings have played more games than most, so simply looking at points alone is misleading. But even on points per game basis, the Wings are hanging in there. The Habs and Isles being so far back changes the dynamic of the playoff conversation a bit. If 9 teams made it, I think the Wins would have a decent shot. But assuming Boston and Pittsburgh will grab at least a wildcard spot over 82 games, who could the Wings possibly knock out? The Rangers?
  9. Helene St. James @HeleneStJames · 34m Jeff Blashill says Red Wings F Tyler Bertuzzi, who is not vaccinated, will be in COVID-19 protocol for 10 days, will miss 5 games.
  10. Wings playing at 92 pt pace
  11. That tying goal by the Kraken was odd. Erne makes up for not taking advantage of his chance in OT. Wings win, 4 in a row!
  12. That was an action-free overtime! Off to the Wings' first shootout of the year.
  13. Shoot, Erne, shoot. Off to OT.
  14. Can’t take this one away from Raymond. Wings lead.
  15. The Ghost Of Ernie is a great Twitter feed. Question this teeet raises for me is, if you’re a career minor league named Aurelio and at the age of 33 an MLB teams offer you a September call-up, do you accept knowing this means you may only have another 15 years to live?
  16. I don’t expect Rasmussen to score much from regular play, but can we at least get the coaches to have him stay a few minutes after practice today to take half a dozen shots at an empty net.
  17. Unless Bama upsets Georgia, in which it will be Bama vs Oklahoma St/Cincinnati and Michigan vs. Georgia. I think if Georgia, Michigan, Cincy and Oklahoma St all win they'll give Cincy to Georgia as an opponent because they think that's easier for Georgia. Oklahoma St will move up to #3 to play Michigan.
  18. Suck it, Jack. Wings win.
  19. Not 1, not 2 but 3 shots at the empty net.
