Interestingly, my Fox telecast was 5 seconds behind my radio broadcast. Which gives Brandstatter just enough time to catch up 🙂. I go by the TV audio 95% of the time but will check the radio to hear the reaction after big plays. I hope and assume Jon Janssen is part of the regular radio broadcast next year. Preferably on color like this season. Like Dierdorf and Brandstatter, he fills the role of an ex-player linking to the past, but 25 years younger. To me his voice actually sounds like a younger version of Dierdorf.

I wonder if the NHL will go to the Olympics. Controversy about the WTA player and other politics, appears China can’t ice a competitive team so might be frozen out, and Covid is causing some cancellations most recently of NYI games.

Yep, everything is breaking perfectly for Michigan. I would glad take a Cincy or Oklahoma State semi. Problem would be Georgia getting upset, because I think Bama would rise to #1, Michigan-Georgia would be the next two, and Cincy or Oklahoma State would be #4.

St. Louis is a good team. The Wings have beaten a few other good teams this season: Washington, Vegas, Edmonton. Yeah, they're not legit playoff contenders yet, but if you take care of business against bad teams and win the odd home game against good teams you can probably hang around the fringe of the playoff race until the February Olympic break.

Nope, because it was a narrow road loss for Michigan at MSU, the 2nd loss would be in a bonus championship game MSU didn’t earn its way into , and Michigan played the conference’s perennial dominant team, OSU, 64 points better than MSU did. A 2nd loss for Michigan means Iowa would be ranked higher than the Spartans.

Harbaugh earned a $500k bonus by winning the East today. Beating Iowa would be another $1.5mm ($1mm for winning Big 10, $500k for making the playoff)

I don't think a 2-loss Alabama beats out a 2-loss Michigan. If Georgia wins, the only way Michigan misses the playoffs I think would be if Cincy, ND and one of Oklahoma/Oklahoma St. wins out. If Michigan beats Iowa they will go into the playoff at #2, with the Georgia/Bama winner #1.

Wings lead Buffalo 2-1 after 2. Wings should have a bigger lead than that. They've been buzzing all around the Sabres net all period.

Sabres have longest active NHL playoff drought, at 10 years. Wings are halfway there, at 5 years.
