  1. Just because Jake Rogers has a pudgy-looking face doesn't mean he's fat.
  2. I'm thinking it's Bregman to Detroit - 2 year deal for $62 million with a player opt-out after a year.
  3. Never trade with the Rays. Congratulations to Alex Faedo on his 2026 Cy Young season. As far as Enderson Delgado, he'll be a fine backup at Erie for his whole career.
  4. Bregman knows this, it's why it's included because he doesn't want to come here.
  5. But the problem is they drafted him 1/1 You expect much more than "5th starter" out of that. And you should. I don't blame Avila.
  6. Bregman's demands Houston: 6 years/ 158 Boston: 6 years 156 Detroit: 7 years / 290 million / 15% ownership of team / Ownership of 1 parking lot downtown
  7. How does this freeze Mize out? 1 - Skubal 2 - Flaherty 3 - Cobb 4 - Olson 5 - Mize Or Mize in the bullpen. They'll still need Manning, Montero, Hurter, and others to start games this year too. Don't give up on Mize. I know it's his last shot, but now he's had a full post-TJ season, he should be as right as he's gonna be this year. Unless he completely blows everyone away in Spring Training, I don't see Jobe making this team on Opening Day. They are going to strictly monitor his innings anyway. I can see him pitching sparingly in spring and then sparingly in Lakeland for a month until it gets warmer in Toledo.
  8. No shame in it. Had to wear them after Prostate surgery
  9. I thought Fay Vincent died years ago.
  10. Would be that bold to cut Justin Tucker now. He's about 40% of what he used to be. But why are we surprised. I know it's a kicker, but these athletes, in all major sports, are treated like Gods and are having adults kiss up to them as early as 14 years old. They can do no wrong. You hear that enough and you start believing this. Add to that this anti-woman direction this country's going in and I don't get surprised by any of this crap anymore. We love sports, it's a bond between a lot of people here, but you really need to admit that most of the people involved in sports, especially football, are horrible human beings
  11. Considering using electronics to measure first downs next year. Wait, the league owners will vote 31-1 to do this, but the 1 hold out will be you know who and they'll say. If you change it, we won't let Tay Tay come to the games anymore. The Fox first down line was started in what, 1994? Wait to be on that NFL. Censors can be put into both tips of the ball and embedded under the laces on the fatest part of the ball. When that ball crosses that line, a light should go off automatically, maybe something that surrounds the shot clock. Also, no reason that there should not be a visible line on the field that the players can see. I understand the drama of pulling out the chains, but it slows down the game too much and then you won't be questioned whether you gave the Chiefs the better spot.
  12. Taking Todd's first game out of the equation (because he had yet to see a practice) 13-3-1 since he took over.
  13. It will be interesting next October when we breakdown the combined numbers of our third basemen (Vierling, Jung, Ibanez, McKinstry, Navigato, Bohm) to how Bregman fares with the New York Knights. I mean, left field in Knights Field is similar to Comerica and he's not putting up Roy Hobbs type numbers as a right handed hitter. . Any other stadium and Hobbs hits 23 or 24 home runs. Right Field at Knight Field is a joke. Bump Bailey Corner is practically Little League dimensions. Hobbs was so overrated.
  14. Time to move on. Now that Bregman is apparently signing an 8 year 240 million dollar deal with the fictional New York Knights, it's time to.... Keep Carp. Sign Jack Stick with Vierling/Jung at 3b. We already have bad defense a 2nd base. Totally unproven or below average at 1b with Keith, Malloy and Tork and not good (but not bad) defense at SS, we need something better than Paredes at 3rd. E-Sock is destined to be a DH before he's 30. Plus those 19-22 home runs are more like 16-20 playing 81 at Comerica. Vierling hit 16 last year and he's a better defender at 3rd than E-Sock.
  15. Well that's it, that's every Free Agent in the place, unless you'd like to try...........THE CRUEL SHOES
  16. I don't like this hurry up and wait for Rainer and McGonigle (and Jung and Lee too). They just made the playoffs, strike while the iron is hot. Rainer and McGonnigle (the next Tram & Lou) are 2 or 3 years away. (and then, I have this awful feeling that the 2027 season doesn't happen at all).
  17. He might be playing more games at DH next year than 2b. It all depends on what they do with Torkelson. Feels like they need some sort of every day (or close to it) spot for Tork or he should start at Toledo where he can see live pitching every day. Outfield is fine, actually pretty good if Carp & Meadows continue development. You can do a lot worse than Matt Vierling and Wenceel Perez as a backups. But that infield, as of January 31st, is kind of hot garbage and strangely constructed. They signed Ibanez and McKinstry and have Baez, Keith Tork and Sweeney and you add a minus defender for 2b. It all feels very cobbled together. I'll stick to my belief that unless Baez is a revelation in Spring Training that he shouldn't be on the team. Sweeney had some moments but is very unproven. Kreidler has shown next to nothing in his limited time at the plate and always seems to be injured. Jace Jung is a total mystery, but is more 2b than 3b. Bregman would be the only solid proven guy if he signed but that's not happening. It's just messy. I feel like they HAVE to make a trade or two to make sense of it all. Kreidler and Baez on the roster seems senseless.
  18. Scott Boras has just confirmed the team with the 6 year offer for Alex Bregman is, indeed, the New York Knights..
  19. Probably got Goalied by some other team
  20. So is Kasper lately and he's only 20. The Toddfather put him on the top line and turned him loose and he's not a one-dimensional player AT ALL.
  21. ............and hockey coaches sure don't last long in the NHL anymore.
  22. My general feeling is that Derek was coaching this team like saying "for the love of all that is holy, just don't make any mistakes" and they were always on their heels and they were so risk-averse that they were just bland and I am sure that does crush a player. Todd's way is more "Go get it, and if you make a mistake, you make a mistake, don't obsess over it or keep repeating it" When LaLonde was coaching they didn't look like they wanted to be out there and WE ALL SAW IT and since Todd came in it's fun again. Harkens back to "Aggressive Hockey is Back In Town" Playing not to lose is blueprint for failure. I just wish Steve would have recognized it about 2-3 weeks sooner, or at least made the move in early December. Maybe he was trying but needed to negotiate with Todd. This burst of 12-4 (and honestly, you can't hang Game 1 on Todd, he hadn't even seen a practice yet), so 12-3........this won't continue, but if they can be 9-6 with the next 15 games, great. But if they miss the playoffs by 1-4 points it's gonna be so frustrating because making this move a little bit earlier (WHEN IT WAS OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE IT WASN'T WORKING) may have meant playoffs. And they just need to end it with Husso. .866 SV% and 3.69 GAA..........that's awful and it's glaring when he plays. If you need more than 2 goalies give Cossa a look. If Cossa isn't good enough to get some spot starts at this point, then it might be time to start looking elsewhere
  23. So, Lord Stanley, did you go to Schwartz Deli for the smoked meat sandwich yet? Anyway, for those who can explain hockey better than I can. What exactly is Todd McLellan doing to prompt this very abrupt turnaround? Is it just the voice in the room needed to change or is there more to it?
