I don't know why it continues this way. How about this, you find 4 or 5 places to host all the Downhill skiing events - and rotate them every 4 years Do the same thing with a bunch of other events, so this way The Olympics would be taking place in several places every 4 years and it works out better for scheduling, as well. I think it would be cool to have Olympic Hockey games all over the U.S. in one year, Sweden another year, Russia another year, Canada in another - You could have qualifying games in different arenas. Like the World Cup. Have Olympic events in any given year on several continents, different time zones, make the actual LIVE Olympics like a 24 hour live event. We go now to German for this and meanwhile in Sydney this and later today from Dallas it's this event........ Now we would still have to find a way to get rid of all the horrible corruption, but I think by not having it in one place, a place that simply has too much power, you cut down on that part. Don't know what to do about 15 year olds on doping programs or Ski jumpers eliminated for their outfits (has to be political), but it is time to try something different or just end it. It's not about sports anymore. Not even a little bit. Everything is a controversy and this whole national pride bullshit sucks. I just want to see the best doing amazing things, I don't care where they are from.

Seriously.................there is so much corruption and so much of it is political, not to mention what has happened to cities before and after the Olympics, what's the point of it anymore? It doesn't seem to be much about sports anymore, does it? I don't like the fact that countries with more money get all the advantages. We're supposed to be finding out who is the best athlete, right? Seeing so many cheating scandals and blatant corrupt judges (ask Roy Jones) and corruption with the officials in charge. Remember when, just before Obama became President, he went to speak to the committe about Chicago hosting the Olympics (I think it was for 2016) and people said he failed to get it done? I don't know, I think he might have intentionally made sure it wouldn't be in Chicago. It just seems like there is more negative about it these days (including the TV ratings). Why do the Olympics all have to take place in one area? Why can't we have Olympics in different venues around the world for different sports. To me, that would be the future way to do it and still keep "The Olympics".

Today I was dropping off a research collection kit to someone and it was 45 degrees and the sun was out. My thoughts turned to that feeling you get when you hear a spring training game on the radio for the first time after the long, dark, depressing winter and then I thought about opening day and I became sad, because I don't think it's happening in April this year.

Glad they are treated the same. That is surprising. Not the kids, so much, but the grown ups, who can be extremely ugly. I am guessing the kids that know your girls have known them for so long that they KNOW them. I used to work with a record person named Laura Kim, I think she was with Columbia in New York. She got her start in radio working for 97X (BAM, THE FUTURE OF ROCK & ROLL), which is in Oxford, (Miami University). She used to tell me about the horrible things that people said to her because she was Chinese and it just floored me. Since the first 20 times I spoke to her was over the phone I didn't even think about that. American born. American mother. Grew up in Chicago, I think. Didn't matter, some people would take one look at her and just say terrible things and make terrible assumptions. Some would speak to her like English was her second language and that was usually not mean, but embarrassing for both parties but others would say intentionally ugly things. But she was only treated that was because of how she looked, before anyone even attempted a conversation with her. It's a sickness.

I don't know. True, he's probably never been treated the way most Black people have been treated. I hope he does well, but calling him a "minority hire" is like getting a college scholarship because you are 1/16th Native American. Doesn't mean you lived that life.
