  1. He should be fired, He's a coach. He can't do that. Doesn't matter if it was a punch or a slap, doesn't matter if he landed or not. He threw the first punch. Michigan has no permanent President, which could make this situation ugly, but it's no different than Woody Hayes throwing a punch at Charlie Bauman. He wasn't going to hurt a kid wearing full pads, but that was not the issue. That's embarrassing.
  2. I might just buy Mud Hens opening day tickets. Why not? At least they'll be playing.
  3. But still, he can't even say the players names? That's a disgrace. Not on Dan's part, but on the owners - if that's their stance. Dumb little things like this make me believe that this lockout is not ending soon. I hate baseball continue this slow suicide.
  4. Are you sure you're not talking about Vic Caputo? He was around back then.
  5. Okay, I heard this on the radio today during Pat Caputo's show while I was driving around doing errands and swearing left and right about winter. They said that Dan Dickerson can't say the names of the players on the Tigers roster. Is this true? If it is, we've gone way beyond ridiculous here. I don't know if they were joking, but is Dickerson employed by the Tigers or by WJR? now granted it was Pat Caputo and for a sports writer his use of vocabulary is limited and as recently as 3 years ago he thought the NFL wild card teams played each other in the playoffs (and he was the Lions beat writer for the Oakland Press for several years).
  6. Intentional. You can tell by his lack of surprise after the collision. I wouldn't drill the next guy, but I would have a word with my pitchers about every time that batter comes to the plate.
  7. We aren't seeing MLB until June, if at all. Baseball is not in a position to fuck with secondary fans because their loyal fan base is dwindling fast. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  8. At the end doesn't it say "For Carl" ?
  9. Once it's announced that the 2022 season is cancelled, Ohtani will be going to Japan to play and he won't come back.
  10. Sorry, the next game was in Atlanta and it looks like A.J. Minter is the last pitcher to bat in the bottom of the 4th, he bunted a pop up behind home plate that was caught...............how pitchery. Zach Greinke actually didn't pitch that game but he did pinch hit in that game - and got a single !
  11. World series had pitchers bat in Atlanta. So game 5 Kyle Wright batted in the bottom of the 3rd. And that was that.
  12. So he becomes the answer to a trivia question. On the other end of that, who was the last pitcher to bat? (I understand that there may be pitchers that pinch bat in the future, but who was the last pitcher to bat as the pitcher?)
  13. In 1978 the Red Sox had Butch Hobson at 3B. He made 43 errors and had an .899 FPCT. They lost the division in a Game 163 vs. the Yankees. If they had even an average defensive 3B that year, they probably don't have to play a game 163.
  14. What about the Medicare commercials and that awful Medicare Martha?
  15. ♫ She may get woolly Young girls they do get woolly 'Cause of all the stress.......yeah When she gets woolly Try a little tenderness ♫
  16. The ones that did show up were probably paid Hollywood extras. LA has more homeless people than people who showed up for that parade. Not trying to be funny, but it's true.
  17. writers.......pfft
  18. When a dog dies some people ask "How can you put yourself through that again?" Through what, 14 years of absolute friendship, laughs, companionship, comfort, complete joy and a week of mourning? Sign me up. I can't wait to do it again
  19. Oh, and Bruce Willis is in it, but just as an extra sitting about 3 rows behind Newman in the final summation speech.
  20. There is a movie from in 1982 that I love called The Verdict. As many great roles as Paul Newman had, I think this was his masterpiece, even great than Cool Hand Luke, The Sting or Butch Cassidy. It's a slow moving film about a medical malpractice lawsuit and Newman plays a once-great lawyer who is a beaten alcoholic, and the only lawyer desperate enough to take an unwinnable case. One of my favorite endings to any movie......not when the verdict is read, but the final scene, the final shot. I had no idea until maybe 3 years ago that David Mamet wrote the screenplay.
  21. When Travolta first read the treatment for Vincent Vega - he didn't like it. He didn't want to play a heroin addict and he was a little turned off by the violence but people told him to meet QT, that there was a great buzz about him. So Travolta went to QT's apartment to meet - and it was the exact same apartment Travolta lived in when he got started in showbiz and that's when he knew it was meant to be.
  22. The film you get on your car this time of year. I HATE IT SO MUCH.
  23. Don't pitchers and catchers report this week? Oh yeah...............forgot..................stupidity and greed.
  24. After this latest debacle with the Russian cheater in figure skating...........I am fully on board with getting rid of the Olympics once and for all. It's pure corruption. Just end it.
  25. hell of an effort. Love this team. love the future. Yzmeran.
