The Jets just acquired Joe Flacco because they let their rookie QB get destroyed again. Why can't the Lions pick up a better backup? They need to win a game. Fine if they get a #1 or #2 pick, but they need a win badly. Having someone you could turn to when Goff is being Goff or even having someone that might challenge him even a little bit could help get that win.

I guess Penn Jillette was outselling his ice cream much more than some country singer (Trace Adkins?) and should have won the Celebrity version, but he was asked if he would support and endorse Trump for President he refused - and so he lost. And I believe him. Jillette never supported a Republican or Democrat until 2016 when he whole heartedly supported Hillary because his quote was "How ever bad you think Trump is, he's worse."

Celebrity worship in general. People just pick the most famous person. It's why Arnold won in California too. And Tommy Tuberville, who makes Louie Gohmert look, well no, nothing could make Gohmert look smart, but Tuberville is a freaking idiot, but hey, he coached a favorite football team. Too bad the rest of us have to pay for that.

I saw a video of a woman at a gas station scratching off her ticket, winning and celebrating and jumping up and down and she holds the ticket up for the clerk to see and someone runs up and snatches it out of her hand and runs right out the door and gets away. It was a $500 winner. People, if you win, keep it to yourself.

See, you are falling for the Lions Conundrum. When you think "Hey they are playing a team that's down, they can win this game", they turn around and get their arse beat. Then when you think "Oh my God, they're going to get blown out by this team", they play their guts out, make it a close game and you get your heart broken. They set you up for hope, then they let you down and crush you and then make you hope again. It's like living with a drug addict.

I hated Donald Trump back in the 1980s and it's never changed. I always thought he was just a loud-mouth fraud. I just can't believe he has this political power. We're so broken. How the hell did this happen?

They don't see that. The billionaire owners cry poverty. The millionaire players act like baseball is at it's peak and both sides are firm in those beliefs and I don't think either has any intention of budging. They are out of touch. And it's not the length of games so much as it's A - so many other things to get your attention now and B - the cost of going to games obliterated a generation from making going to games a ritual. Now it's just an occasional thing. Now that generation has their own kids and baseball is not a love being passed down to them. Another thing that hurts is that little league baseball of any quality is something many families can't really afford anymore. Have you noticed the cost of gloves and bats these days? (Best glove I ever had was a K-Mart glove and I got teased because it was a K-Mart glove, but I caught everything that went near it).

Baseball Owners and Players need to understand that they don't hold as much power over the American public that they once did. People like us will miss baseball if they strike or lockout, but most of America won't give a damn, which means all you may accomplish is pissing off your "P1" fans. Not good.

The problem is not Campbell. The problem is a weak roster and a very very bad Quarterback. If this team had just an average QB, as in Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, Taylor Heinicke type of guy they could easily have 3 wins right now. That's not even aiming high. If Ryan Fitzpatrick is healthy next year, the Lions should bring him in.
