I, like most people, hate Aaron Rodgers. He's doing the media tour this week like he's reclaimed the throne. He beat up on the worst defense in the league and one that may be in the conversation for the worst defense historically in the league. He did what guys like P.J. Walker and Mitch Trubisky have been able to do recently. Big Whoop. People are acting like HE'S BACK! Prove it against a real team. The Packers are the most overrated team in the NFL. I'm going to be a big 49ers fan this week.

161 game season? (They sure ain't playin' today)
Motor City Sonics replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
The White Sox magic number is down to 2. They thought they were waltzing out of Detroit with a division title. THINK AGAIN ! So, basically if Cleveland wins all but one of the rest of their games and the White Sox lost the rest of theirs , they'd make up today, but it seems like it doesn't matter. The White Sox will be going to Houston no matter what (unless Houston and Tampa flip spots). I guess we didn't spoil anything, but we denied them their little party on our turf, so that's cool. -
I don't see them making this one up. The White Sox are 8 games behind Tampa and 5 behind Houston, and are going to finish in the 3rd slot no matter what. It doesn't matter where the Tigers finish. 7-2 the rest of the way, 81-80 !!!!! Glad today wasn't supposed to be the last home game.

Do you realize that if we only take The A's and Angels out of the equation that the Tigers are 72-66 this season. Just can't beat those teams. From 9-24 to 74-78. Unreal job by AJ Hinch and his staff. Seems as soon as they got to know the guys, they turned it around. Plus switching from Ramons-Greiner to Rogers-Hasse seemed to flip a switch. 65-54 since then. That's a Wild Card race percentage

Way Too Early 2022 Roster Predictions
Motor City Sonics replied to davidsb623's topic in Detroit Tigers
When does the 2022 season start? It wont start on time. Those two sides are not going to budge. That could be advantages for the Tigers................keep the inning load down on the young pitchers and let the young hitters get plenty of AAA at-bats before they are needed. I just have a feeling it's going to be about the time school lets out. -
Way Too Early 2022 Roster Predictions

Hill is injured so often, but in his defense they are all hustle plays. What happened in Tampa Sunday was 100% on the first baseman. He's not supposed to cover the whole bag with his foot and he always does it and Hill had to lunge at the bag awkwardly. MLB needs to have a word with that first baseman. The interference call was ridiculous too............Where the hell is he supposed to run on that play? -

THE POST MORDEM- Goff is not the problem. He played very well. They still lack go-to receivers. It looks like Cephus wants to be the #1, and on this team he is, but he wouldn't be anywhere else. I can see a scenario where Goff is like Alex Smith with the 49ers and Cheifs. The Lions could draft a QB that needs marinating and they sit for a year while Goff guides the team. He doesn't throw a pretty ball, wobbles more than I do going to take a leak at 4am, but when his o-line takes care of him, he's fine. The O-Line had a fantastic game. They protected Goff extremely well and the running game (when they could use it) was very effective. Green Bay's defense looks pretty bad. I can't believe naked drive through guy is their D-Coordinator now. The Lions coaching is fine. I can gripe about saving the timeouts in the first half, but it's a minor gripe. Not getting the 4th down was a major momentum shift, but I am fine with it. I like that he's challenging his team. If they were contenders it would be foolish. I thought Anthony Lynn had a terrific game plan and Aaron Glenn can only do so much. The defense is atrocious. And it's all on Quinn and Patricia. Quinn for horrible drafting and signing too many guys he already knew in New England and Patricia for chasing away talented guys who had the nerve to question him. I can't believe I am about to type this, but they are actually worse than Millen was and as you saw last night, they need to completely rebuild the linebackers and the secondary. Rocket Scientist - my ass! So this is a 3 year rebuild at the earliest and because Quinn & Patricia f'ed up this team so badly, Brad Holmes is in a position where he needs to be near-perfect in the first 3 rounds. They need to go to younger linebackers with more speed. I'd rather see those guys make mistakes and learn than Collins and Anzalone constantly take bad angles and just get outrun. Let Pittman & Barnes take their lumps. Anything is better than what we saw last night. There is nothing you can do for the secondary. Starters are bad, Bench is bad. -

Get Anzalone and Collins out of there. Both of them are just brutal. Give Barnes and Reeves-Maybin a shot - they can't be worse, can they? -

This is coming down to the last possession where Rodgers will jerk his head to the side, while untouched, and get a fase making penalty against the Lions. -

Don't mind the call there. Again........challenge your team.......tell them you believe in them. Nothing wrong with that. That's a long term decision. -
