  1. The point that Stanley brought up about the time remaining and how it automatically turns it into 4 down territory if you are down 1 makes me rescind my previous point about going for 2. I still feel you should go for it if there was less time and the choice was essentially a guaranteed win with a 2pt make or OT with a kick. But with the amount of time left for this one that wasn't the case especially with Mahomes and the Chiefs offense in guaranteed 4 down and aggressive territory. With the tie they are far more likely to play more conservative knowing that worst case scenario is overtime.
  2. Yeah Campbell for sure wouldn't have called that last timeout right away when they got to the 1. I think Bowles completely panicked there for some reason.
  3. I wouldn't mind going after Clowney, yeah he's been around forever and his actual raw production never really matched the hype but he is a good run defender and his metrics like pass rush win rate are real good.
  4. Yup. Until the rules change to the point where both teams get a guaranteed possession in OT I feel like you have to go for 2 when down 1 late against an elite team. If you're facing the Titans then sure go for the tie cause even if you lose the coin toss you're still likely to get the ball back with a chance to win but against a team like the Chiefs, Ravens, Lions etc. I'm taking my chances at gaining 3 yards for the win vs. letting a coin toss heavily influence the outcome of the game.
  5. And Mahomes is back in the game..
  6. In bigger news from the game, Mahomes looks to have tweaked his ankle or something, came up real lame on that game tying TD and needed help getting off the field. Replays didn't look too good but ankle/foot injuries are hard to gauge to me. Sometimes they look real bad yet the guy just gets it taped up and comes back in and is ok so who knows.
  7. Bucs hanging in there at KC, tied at 17 early in the 4th. If the Bucs were to pull this one out they would stake claim to giving the Chiefs and Lions their only losses of the year and doing it at their respective stadiums as well. Pretty impressive.
  8. PFF grades are out. Kerby, Amon-Ra and Jack Campbell were our 3 highest rated players. Campbell is really turning into a solid player at LB.
  9. Of course TP with his hyperbolic negative in season Lions takes was always gonna say it was the right call. The only surprising take is that he also didnt throw Glenn to the wolves for that hit as well.
  10. Lions 5th best DVOA since 1979 at this point in this season.
  11. That graphic they showed about Goff completing his last 30 throws targeted to St. Brown is insane. Even if you want to say that most of the throws were relatively "easy" that is still crazy. Not a single miscommunication, dropped ball, wayward throw, pass break up etc. for 30 straight times is really remarkable. Says alot about both of them.
  12. When was the last time you seen that in an NFL game? How many of the times since then have you seen a late hit/helmet to helmet hit? The latter happen all the time yet you almost NEVER see something like that.
  13. It was certainly a dumb play by Branch but I think it looked way worse in slo mo, when you're moving that fast its so hard to adjust quickly. Ejections should only be reserved for the most egregious of hits and that wasn't one of them.
  14. A rare dumb play by Branch there. Not sure what he was thinking.
  15. Campbell's aggressiveness nets us 4 extra points, something that will surely be forgotten about the next time an aggressive move goes wrong.
  16. I think that was legit one of the fastest quarters ever, I think it was under 20 minutes real time.
  17. Titans trying to end "the lions hangover".
  18. Cowboys lose again. Outside of the Giants and Panthers I don't think there is a worse team in the NFC than the Cowboys. In the AFC you could argue a few other teams as well but still they are clearly a bottom 3rd team in the NFL.
  19. These 4:25 "game of the week" games usually start pretty close to the listed time, kickoff will likely be at 4:30 at the latest.
  20. This is true but I will say that 07 team was really really good but faltered down the stretch after the Bonderman injury along with losing some key games to Cleveland. The 09 team of course made it to game 163 and even the 2010 team was right there at the All Star Break but again ran into a bunch of injuries.
  21. Seriously how could you lineup illegally like that? Not just talking about the defender but how could the coaches not see it and either get his attention or call a timeout?
  22. I'd honestly like to see how Davis Warren would do with a better supporting cast and play callers. He throws a good enough ball but when nobody outside of Loveland can create separation and your play calling is as vanilla as it comes its almost impossible to succeed.
  23. Ha-Seong Kim of the Padres declined his player option and is now a FA. Could be a potential target for the Tigers, he's a right handed bat that can play all over the infield and will only be 29 next season.
  24. Went down to MGM last night for a friend's birthday and I ran into quite a few Oregon fans down there. Shared a blackjack table with a couple of them for a bit and they were really cool. They weren't as confident in an Oregon massacre as I was though, they felt like it was gonna be a close one and were worried that Michigan may pull the upset.
