  1. Goff will always be underrated by PFF grades and some advanced stats cause they don't account for actually making pre snap reads and audibles, reading defenses, going through progressions and throwing to the right receiver. They give so much more praise to the "wow throws" or plays where guys make something out of nothing instead of plays that Goff excels at. They just see him complete a pass to an open receiver and think nothing of it instead of actually crediting him with not only finding that open receiver, completing the pass and often times throwing that pass with anticipation on time. Also people don't put enough emphasis on completing the passes that you should. They have the mindset of "all QBs can make throws if guys are open and they have time" and yes NFL QBs can do that but they don't hit it at nearly the rate Goff has. They might complete the pass 70% of the time which is excellent but Goff has been far above that. It would be like an NBA player hitting 60+% of his open threes and not giving him credit cause "all NBA players can make open shots".
  2. I heard there was some controversy with the Texas crowd but I didn't bother to see the details of it. Just to add one to my previous list that actually benefited us how about the infamous coin toss game against the Steelers which changed how coin tosses were done? Just weird to me that for a team that relatively speaking hasn't played a ton of high profile games have had so many almost unheard of calls happen in big moments in mostly high profile games.
  3. I think cause the Lions/Pack were already Fox's "game of the week" with Brady calling it. That game actually outdraws the prime time games sometimes.
  4. I really can't think of any past games against the Titans other than the one like 10 years ago where the Lions were down 2 TDs with like a minute left and came back to either tie it and send it to overtime or lose on the final possession(can't remember just know that we obviously lost).
  5. I believe more in trap games in college football, I think in the NFL with professionals and knowing that every other team is compiled of said professionals teams generally don't overlook lesser teams especially when you are well coached like the Lions. That's not to say they won't lose cause you know "any given Sunday" but if they do I'm almost positive it won't be because it was a "trap game" or they were looking towards GB.
  6. It's amazing the weird calls that have gone against the Lions. Aside from yesterday and the aforementioned game where they had that 10 second runoff, there was the Seattle game where they intentionally batted the ball for a safety which is against the rules but nobody on the field apparently was aware of that. The Thanksgiving game against the Texans where the runner was down and the Lions threw the flag but since it was a scoring play and going to be reviewed anyway it negated the challenge and didn't get reviewed. Again never seen before. The "facemask" on a game ending sack, which is never called gets called against them. The flag pickup after it was announced a penalty, something I still don't think I have ever seen before or since. The not declaring the right guy eligible on a likely game winning conversion. Then of course the Calvin Johnson catch and completing the process.
  7. Not sure if it's been mentioned on here or not but I just found out that JEIII is now the Knicks beat writer for the Athletic.
  8. The extra time wasn't important to me since Minnesota had no timeouts, not worth the risk of a penalty or God forbid fumble but I didn't like it cause I don't like putting my faith in a kicker(unless its a Jason Hanson type proven commodity), I'd much prefer for teams to go for the TD instead of assuming the kick is going to be made. I just get a kick out of the fact that people pick and choose when the FG is "automatic points" and when its not.
  9. Watching NFL Network and I get a kick out of them critiquing Campbell for taking the kneel downs and trusting his kicker instead of trying to gain more yards. Not that I necessarily disagree with that assessment in a vacuum just that it's funny how when he goes for it instead of kicking a FG people just automatically assume the kick was going to be good and he should've "taken the points" or "trusted his kicker" but when he shows complete faith in him instead of risking a turnover or sack they question that too.
  10. When asked about the rumors Za'Darius Smith said "he would like it" if he were traded to the Lions. He's somebody that I could see the team going after and not the big splash move.
  11. Kyle Vandebosch or bust!
  12. I never watched the replay but watching live I didn't notice or hear anything, I actually thought it was something with his arm or shoulder initially cause of the way the tackle was.
  13. They may have won another but I think one of the only playoff games they won since the mid 90s was the PI game against us that they should've lost.
  14. Bombers put the name out there yesterday but I can see them going after somebody like Zadarius Smith but I'm skeptical they pony up for the big names like Crosby.
  15. I'm not a Doctor but from everything I have read for the past couple decades about sports injuries fractures are actually better for you long term than ligaments. Unless there is a rare setback the bone should comeback stronger after it heals.
  16. I would for certain QBs but in general you are right, definitely wouldn't give them up for a non QB.
  17. Not sure if it was confirmed before but Campbell confirms it is a broken tibia for Hutch and that "he is gonna be out for awhile".
  18. Since getting destroyed by Baltimore last year the Lions defense has given up only 18 points a game their last 18 games. For reference only 3 teams last year gave up less, so for a calendar year now the Lions defense has been elite from a points against standpoint.
  19. I would be shocked if Hooker doesn't come in after this drive.
  20. Heartbreaking for him and definitely a season ender. Lets just hope that here are no ligament injuries and it's "just" a bone break. If that's the case I'd imagine it wouldn't effect him long term but who knows, definitely not a Doctor.
  21. Cart coming out, must be real serious considering how tough Hutch is.
  22. Lions have scored 21, 21 and now 27 in their last 3 halves of football. Not bad!
