  1. Kinda surprised we are actually better offensively relative to the league than last year. I mean I knew we sucked at this point last year too but this year just seems so much worse offensively, even when you factor in scoring being down.
  2. Considering the Twins scored 4 runs through 5 batters I will take a close defeat like that. I thought it was going to be bloodbath after that.
  3. Do you think he is a guy that can play in the modern NBA? I have no problem if he doesn't have superstar tendencies, if he can just be a plus player that can stay on the court in the playoffs(assuming we ever make it there) then I'd be fine taking him. I still prefer Mathurin though cause to my amateur scouting he seems to offer the best combination of fit, upside and floor.
  4. Speaking of Howard's actor it has kinda bugged me where I known him from since the start of the show but for some reason I never got around to looking it up but the other day I was watching Saved by the Bell The College Years for nostalgia sake and he is the professor on there. I used to watch that show all the time when they ran reruns on TBS in the morning in the late 90s to mid 00s so that is definitely where I knew him from
  5. Somebody on Twitter pointed out that by Howard making himself a normal coffee instead of the much stronger latte it showed he may not drink a ton of caffeine. They speculated that they made sure to show that cause earlier in the ep the Vet tells Jimmy that the effects of the drug are based on your normal caffeine usage.
  6. Lol I remember that, in fact I was just a lurker when that was posted but it inspired me to make an account just so I could comment on it.
  7. I didn't catch the killer latte line but with him saying that I totally could see Cliff being the one who dies, if it isn't him then somebody is definitely dying off the latte cause Gilligan doesn't just do throw away lines. Unless that is the same place that Lydia had her coffee at and that's the reference. Actually now that I think about it she drank tea I believe so scratch that thought.
  8. I hear conflicting things about Murray. Some say that he has limited upside and doesn't translate well to today's NBA but then I watch some videos on youtube from people that have said things like "He is perfect for the modern NBA". I can't remember who made the comparison but somebody I read or follow said he is alot like Middleton, if he turns out to be him I wouldn't be upset.
  9. Currently I'm Mathurin, Sharpe, Ivey, Murray but I'm sure I will change a bunch of times from now till the draft. Even though I know little about Sharpe the only reason I have him so high despite never watching him play a game is because he was the number 1 recruit out of high school so he has the pedigree that I'm banking on.
  10. I saw Grant was trending last night so I clicked on his name to see what was up and all the commotion was about a trade proposal a Thunder blogger came up with. He suggested that if the Thunder are serious about wanting to trade up from 12 that they could package 12 and Dort to Portland for number 7 and then Portland could trade the 12th pick for Grant. Id of course rather just trade straight up with the Blazers for the 7th pick but if this is the only way to facilitate a move with them Id settle for 12. In this scenario the Blazers would get Dort and Grant for the 7th pick instead of just Grant if they went straight through us.
  11. Theres no sugar coating it he has been bad at the plate but aside from the fact that he is streaky you have to keep in mind that offense is WAY down throughout baseball this year. He isn't the only big name struggling at the plate. A couple of those guys Im referencing have started to pick it up in the past week so hopefully Javy will join them. Another to thing to keep in mind is he did miss those couple weeks to start the year so perhaps between that and the short spring training he never properly got his timing right or maybe there are still lingering effects from the hbp. Lastly I don't know how much stock I put into the "hitting is contagious" cliche but if there is a nugget of truth to that the fact that the rest of the team has been garbage hasn't done him any favors.
  12. In his AA debut Flores with 5 innings of 1 hit, no run baseball with 7Ks(1BB).
  13. Or try to hangout all night at one of Deuce's many underground establishments in Toledo.
  14. I suppose that is good news about Manning, could definitely have been worse.
  15. The Twins wasted no time having Chris Paddack get tj surgery. He left with an injury a couple weeks ago and he already had surgery today. This makes tj surgery number 2 for him in only under 6 years.
  16. Let's all remember this season when down the road it looks like we are set with our rotation in the offseason and somebody suggests a pitcher or two to go after and people turn it down cause "we are all set with pitching" or "theres no room for him.".
  17. Rik Smits approves!
  18. I follow a couple Indy writers and they've been salivating for Ivey all season. If Indy feels the same way they may feel the need to try to jump us to get him.
  19. He definitely gets it cause when the police was shown tearing apart his house earlier this season one of the items they grabbed was the black book.
  20. Maybe I had it backwards but I thought I remember hearing recently that Shanahan didn't want Lance but instead was interested in Jones but Lynch wanted Lance? Or perhaps it was they both didn't want Lance but ownership did? Either way unless it was in fact Shanahan that forced their hand to draft him I don't think it's fair to him to put the blame on him. I do agree about the Stafford thing though, even at the time of the trade rumors I remember thinking the 49ers were the perfect fit for Staff and was wondering why they didn't pursue him. Perhaps they did but we turned down their deal cause Holmes really wanted Goff instead of Jimmy G?
  21. Also made it to a Super Bowl with Jimmy G a couple years ago.
  22. Don't have much to say about the game but just wanted to say that I thought Alex Avila did a good job with Dan. Since I listen to the TV broadcasts more I'd prefer him sliding in on there instead but I'd be fine with him taking Price's place when he finally calls it quits. Also I never realized how much he sounds like his Dad until listening to him call these games. When I turned it on yesterday I thought it was Al the first couple minutes I was listening.
  23. I'd be ok with Ivey but I really want Mathurin. I love his measurables(listed at 6'6 with 6'9 wingspan) to go along with his uber athleticism and sweet shooting. I think he could be a perfect fit next to Cade since it seems his one big flaw is his ability to create off the dribble which hopefully wouldn't be as big of concern with a facilitator like Cade.
  24. ESPN put out their first post lottery mock and they have us taking Ivey with Sharpe going to the Pacers one pick after us. They have the Kings taking Murray at 4 btw.
