  1. Has achilles injuries always been this common? I swear it seems like they have been happening so much more across all sports the past 5 or so years but that may just be me. If they really have though any theories on why? Are guys pushing themselves too hard with their workouts?
  2. Mcclanahan has been a beast this year so this is a tough matchup to begin with but spotting them 2 runs this early may make it insurmountable.
  3. Heart just skipped a beat, I just read a headline on The Athletic that said "Tarik Cohen suffers leg injury" and my brain read it as Tarik Skubal. Btw Cohen is an NFL rb for those that don't know.
  4. Not sure about the top 7 last year but I do remember hearing that none of these guys would go before the top 3 or Suggs last year. Of course they were talking about how they were viewed pre draft last year. If you factored in how they looked this year Suggs may not be picked over them.
  5. I agree about the part about the young qbs. As easy as the Lions schedule looks the games against the Jets and Jaguars late in the season could be tough if Wilson and Lawrence take big steps forward. And yeah lol at the Bears but knowing them they'll pull some rabbit out of their hat and finish 9-8 and make the playoffs. Seems like every few years that happens.
  6. I'm really starting to fall for Mathurin, like all players in this draft he has his flaws but as of now I think he may be my number 1 choice.
  7. Perhaps Faedo will emerge as legit and offset the likely loss of Mize.
  8. Reverse jinx for the win!
  9. I swear Kluber will be a 100 years old still pitching 7 shut out innings against us.
  10. Yeah personnally think they're around 22nd to 25th. I was most surprised they had the Panthers 32, I know they're not going to be good but I didn't realize their team was THAT bad. I thought like the Lions they'd be in the low 20s but admittedly I haven't looked at their roster that deeply.
  11. ESPN put out their latest power rankings and the Lions came in at number 30. Not that I put a ton of stock in those things but for the hell of it, if we go by their power rankings the Lions play a staggering 10 games against teams ranked number 23 or worse.
  12. Hopefully Chas will bring us some good luck!
  13. Even though the Celtics have a ton of titles they only have 1 in the last 32 years so I wouldn't be that upset if they win. Much prefer them to the Warriors.
  14. Yeah I understand you want to exhaust every other option before doing tj but I fear it's going to be one of those things that they try to get through all year without surgery only to end up doing it in the offseason anyway essentially costing them an extra season of recovery.
  15. Lol yep no matter how good you are my jinx will still take you down. Since I'm pulling for the Mavs I won't post any Luka stats that I saw on Twitter, even he isn't jinx proof.
  16. I didn't see anything wrong with promoting Avila at the time, this wasn't promoting Mayhew after being 2nd in command to Millen, this was promoting the guy who was 2nd in command to 10 years of winning. In their eyes they probably thought he could've learned all the strong points about Dombrowski while being more receptive to some of their philosophies.
  17. Not concerned so much about the results for Mize, he may have just been throwing fastballs trying to get his strength back.
  18. I know a couple of the guys I'm going to list left via FA and I know a couple more were rentals which hurt their value but still it just baffles me that in a 4-5 year stretch we lost a prime Max Scherzer, David Price, Yoennis Cespedes, JD Martinez, Justin Verlander, Nick Castellanos among some others and got absolutely nothing in return to show for it. And yes I know this has been beaten to death but it's something that is just mind boggling to think about.
  19. Looking more in depth at the schedule and yeah I agree that its easy to find 7 or 8 wins there. As of now I see 5 home games that they may actually be favored in if the line was put out today and that's Washington, Seattle, Minny, Chicago and Jacksonville. You can't expect them to win all 5 but if they win 3 or 4 of those then steal another 1 at home from Philly, Miami, Buffalo on Tday or GB then you're looking at a 4-5 or 5-4 home record. Outside of Dallas and GB if they have something to play for none of the road games scare me that much, it's not hard to envision them winning a couple of those so yeah now that I think about it I think 7 should be the minimum target if they stay healthy. With some luck and/or Goff great play I don't think 9 or even 10 wins is out of the question if absolutely everything goes perfectly. Not that I think they are a true 10 win team, just that they play a lot of beatable teams and if everything goes right I think they could do it..
  20. It's possible, I think they'll have to go atleast 3-2 before the bye. I feel all those games are winnable, yeah Philly smoked them last year and is much improved but the first week is always a crazy so they could steal that one. Washington and Seattle at home you should win but if you do split there I think they can win at Minnesota and NE. Despite my love for Mac Jones I don't think NE is all that good.
  21. Nice to start at home for the first 2 and 3 of first 4. With the exception of Thanksgiving which starts at 12:30 all the games are at 1. I kinda figured no prime time games but surprised there isn't any 4pm games either, I suppose it's cause we don't play any road games in the west.
  22. I didn't realize it when watching it but somebody on my twitter feed made a great observation about why Gus reacted the way he did at the register. To me I just thought it was to show how his mind was completely elsewhere but in reality it was to show that after asking the guy if he wanted to try their new "Spicy Curls" is when he had his "a ha moment" about where Lalo is heading. The spicy curls was what he featured to the parent company in Germany a season or 2 back when him and all the other owners were talking about what they were thinking of adding to their respective menus.
  23. Realistically the best case scenario is we end up about where we did last year. While disappointed I would be OK with that if it came with guys like Tork, Greene, Mize, Manning, Skubal etc. looking good on the way there. Like I'd rather finish with 60 some wins and those guys play very well but we lose do to cast offs or bullpen failure than win mid to upper 70s but those guys look bad but we win thanks to our AAAA guys or dudes like Schoop and Grossman who aren't going to be here for the future.
