Castro playing damn near at the warning track yet he still breaks back on a 250ft fly ball.

Yeah as much as I believe in Holmes and I do think he is really smart the thing is there are a bunch of other smart guys in the NFL too that have access to the same analytics we do so if somebody were to last to the 5th round something tells me that there must be some red flags with the player. Not to say they can't overcome that and become great but it's something that I would certainly not count on.

For people smarter than me, is Bagley the type of guy you can keep on the floor in the playoffs? The 10 or so times I watched him as a Piston I thought he looked good and helped Cade play alot better but my scouting eye isn't good enough to know how he'd fair when the competition gets tougher in the playoffs.

I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but I have a lot of confidence in Fetter/ Hinch being able to get above average pitching out of thin so Hypothetically if Mize and Manning come back strong and look good the rest of the year should we consider trading one or both for a bat(s)?

I think it was Hutch too, while Walker is the uber athletic type that Holmes and Co. love Aiden also scored really high on those tests as well but unlike Walker he actually had the production in college to go with it.

I wouldn't mind Alex Chief Avila to take over next year. From the small sample I saw of him on MLB Network I liked him, plus it would be nice to get a younger guy who was part of the most recent good Tigers team instead of all these old timers.

I can't read Beau Briske's name without thinking of Bill Braske from SNL.
-
Yeah perhaps it was a 1a and 1b thing and they wouldve rushed their pick in if it was Walker there as well.

Btw does anybody else think the show would be even better if you didn't watch BB first? Like for instance Nacho's final scene where he took Bolsa's gun and had it at his head, for a split second I got excited until I quickly remembered that Bolsa and everybody else there survived since they were in BB so it took some of the suspense away.

A double to the warning track and a couple other relatively hard hit balls for the Tigers in the 1st, of course no runs were scored but all in all not a bad first half to start the game.
-
The 49ers are fortunate that they already built such a solid team cause they gave up a bounty for Lance, normally that is the type of move that could cripple a franchise for atleast a few years if it doesn't work out.

Yeah I was so focused on our suckiness that I didn't realize just how bad the Reds were doing over in the Senior Circuit. Edit: sorry for the double post, don't know what happened but I dropped the ball..... just like the Reds have been doing this year.

Yes, this was something Id try conveying to people on Twitter that were skeptical of Staff when the Rams traded for him. Yes we were just Mediocre to average with him but without him we were arguably the worst team in nfl history. So he showed that he made a big positive difference. If you take a team that would be say a 7 win team without you to an 11 win team with you you're viewed in this great light but if you take a 2 or 3 win team to 7 or 8 wins like Stafford you get dismissed even though you brought equal to more wins extra by being there.

I'm still of the belief that Goff was hurt most of the year and I think it first started in week 2 against GB. He struggled in week 1 against SF but he did mix in some impressive throws, he just made a couple mental errors that killed us. Then in GB, the first half he was damn near perfect, it was MNF and I remember watching the Peyton and Eli thing and both made mention to how good some of his throws were. Then he got knocked down a couple times in the 2nd half and proceeded to play like shit. He basically played like that until he finally took the time off for his injury then when he returned he looked and played like a different qb.

I grew up watching guys like MJ, Bird, Magic etc. but even though I was at an age where I understood what was going on(I was in High School when MJ retired) I really didn't know what made a great player since I didn't study stats or anything like that. To me if you scored alot of points or made some spectacular plays you were a great player, like no joke one of my fave players in school was Golden State era Latrell Sprewell who I thought was great just for those reasons.

The whole howard storyline confuses me and quite frankly doesnt really interest me that much. As far as he goes unless I'm forgetting something which is a strong possibility since I only watched all the eps once has Howard really done anything wrong? Like he seemed to really like Jimmy and was excited for him when he learned of him passing the bar but it was Chuck that shot down any chances of him working there. Also its a small thing but just the fact he asked the valet driver by name a couple weeks ago "Hows High School treating you?" Came across as polite and made me think he was a good guy. Like a guy of his stature could belittle somebody in that position but instead he treated him with respect.

Mcshay put out his way too early 2023 mock and he has us taking Bryce Young and with the Rams pick Tony Grimes CB out of UNC. He used the reverse order of SB odds so we picked 2nd which barring any luck won't happen again this year. Even so he had 5 qbs going in the top 10 all of which he said are better than anybody this year so assuming the guys stock don't drop theres a good chance we can get a qb next draft if we choose to go that route.
-
I mentioned before but Goff threw a TD pass a few years ago that was measured as going 62 yards in the air, for reference the furthest ball ever measured in an NFL game traveled 70 yards in the air so he wasn't THAT far off from that.
-
Who is a better option out there right now that the Lions could've realistically gotten? I would agree with your sentiment if the Lions passed on a Lawrence or even Zack Wilson but they didn't. The qbs in the draft are just as flawed if not more so than Goff. As far as potential trade targets perhaps they could've gone after Matt Ryan or Wentz but again I don't think either is a real upgrade over Goff so unless somebody like Watson or Russel Wilson were willing to come here the best option for the Lions is to give the qb they have the most weapons they can and see what he can do with them. If he still sucks this year there's no doubt in my mind they will move on from him then.

Also its interesting to see how shook up Lalo has made Gus and how much Gus obviously respects and perhaps fears him. With all the resources he is expending and precautions he is taking like wearing a vest at all times and keeping a gun strapped to his ankle he almost comes across as paranoid instead of this calm, cool and collected guy that we always known him as.

I'm thinking those people have to have some sorta connection to Fring cause it would seem out of character to openly let them know the other side of "the chicken man" considering how protective he is about that. Perhaps one of them works for him in sorta a bookkeeping role or something like that, if they don't then surely they must have a long personal relationship with him.

Listening to the radio today and they brought up a sound byte from one of our games at the end of the season that Aquib Talib was calling. To paraphrase Talib goes "If Im the Lions Im rolling with Goff and building up the rest of the team, go get Hutchinson in the draft then trade up for a receiver, preferably Jameson Williams from Alabama" So is Talib Nostradamus or is he secretly part of Holmes staff?

When it's all said and done where will Paul rank among the best PGs in history or players in general for that matter? Currently the only true PG with more win shares than him all time is Stockton and his BPM is only behind Magic among PGs and 6th overall only trailing MJ, Lebron, Magic, David Robinson and Jokic.

My favorite part of the latest BCS was Gus telling Mike to find a new guy to protect him at his restaurant cause the dude sucks as a fast food worker and isn't up to their standards. I mean cmon Mike you should know this isn't KFC, this is freaking Los Pollos Hermanos only the best can work there!
