  1. Scouts inc. has him with a grade of 85 and the 7th best pass rusher (51st overall)so not a huge reach according to them. May seem like overkill going with another pass rusher but you can never have enough of them.
  2. So glad to see Ojabo not only get drafted here but go to a place like Baltimore who hopefully will maximize his abilities.
  3. Of course the bears get the guy I wanted most this round.
  4. Btw what if Jameson responded with "uh not really" when Holmes asked him if he was ready to be a Lion? Im partially joking but for real if that were to happen I wonder if there was a plan b or if they could just cancel the trade?
  5. Probably already posted but first time Im seeing it, not quite as excited as they were for Sewell.
  6. You need playmakers/gamechangers in this league whether that be offense or defense doesn't matter but to win that's what you need and the Lions got arguably the biggest one on each side of the ball last night. This archaic view of building a balanced team with good players at all positions is just that archaic. In today's NFL you need guys that can get to the passer and/or create turnovers on defense and can get open and stretch the field on offense and the Lions did just that yesterday.
  7. Outside of a quarterback which by all accounts there weren't any worth taking early I cant think of a position the Lions needed more than a speedy playmaker that can line up on the outside and stretch the defense. Not having that guy last year hurt the team more than just about anything else.
  8. Was listening to Valenti earlier and it's bad when he has to be the voice of reseason. Resident Lions hater Rico Beard thought it was a stupid move cause the Lions don't have a qb to give him the ball(yet he loved Miami getting Hill when Tua makes Goff look like Mahomes in terms of willingness to throw down the field.) Valenti correctly pointed out that yes you are indeed allowed to collect weapons before getting your qb and that this addition makes Detroit one of the more attractive destinations for either a qb you draft to walk into or any potential veterans that want to be traded.
  9. I don't know his medical history but now would be a good time to have any surgeries or clean up any potential problems.
  10. Also the suspension doesn't include time served already so he isnt eligible to return until April of 2024.
  11. Kyler Gordon or Brisker are who Im hoping for.
  12. If push came to shove Id imagine he'd be able to go by the start of the regular season but if the Lions were smart they'd take it slowly, no need to rush him back at this point. I know not everybody is the same and Adrian Peterson is a freak specimen but I remember one year he had an even more serious ACL injury along with an MCL too that happened in the playoffs so after Jameson's and he was back at 100% by the start of the following regular season.
  13. Hard to believe it was only like 5 years ago that Jax was in the AFC Championship game and appeared to have one of the best young rosters in the league.
  14. I remember being pissed they traded down when Shane Ray was on the board. Yeah that's like exhibit million why I shouldn't get upset when the team passes on somebody I like predraft.
  15. Btw even though the Lions did win thy trade going by past comparisons I don't necessarily think it was a bad trade for the Vikings either. If they didnt love anybody at that spot and felt they could get a similar player at 32, why not pick up extra capital even if it less than the perceived value of the pick?
  16. Last year the Bears gave up a future 1st, a 4th and a 5th to move up from 20 to 11, we gave up less to move up from 32 to 12.
  17. Looking back I think it's obvious that Holmes must've felt strongly that there was a big drop off in WR from London, Wilson and Williams to the next batch which is why he made the move when he did. Yeah the ESPN pundits and others kept talking about how deep of class it was as evidence of the number of 1st rounders and that is true but that doesn't mean they are all on the same tier. For instance Scouts Inc. has Williams at a 92 while they have Dotson at 87, Watson at 84 and Pickens at 83, while that doesn't seem like much in reality the difference between mid 80s and low 90s is pretty massive on a scouting scale, so while the latter may be still be 1st or early 2nds they arent in the same class as somebody like Williams.
  18. I have a man crush on both of them so I'd probably rather have Cine/Pickens at this point but if we can get a great player at 46 it could sway my decision.
  19. lol total Patriots pick taking a guard from Chattanooga.
  20. The Eagles have two firsts next year so they definitely have the ammo to move up and get a QB next year so if you're in the camp of getting one of the QBs next draft we should be pulling for Hurts and them to win so that is one less team to worry about next draft.
  21. Assuming no trades I'd love to get Pitre or Brisker at 44. Going into the draft my dream scenario(that I thought was likely) was Hutch/Thibs, Pickens and Cine/Hill. Instead if we ended up with Hutch, Jameson and Pitre/Brisker I would be even happier since I think the difference between Jameson and Pickens is greater than Cine/Hill and Pitre/Brisker.
  22. Its a little late but I do have to say that was a pretty savage move by the Titans to basically say to AJ Brown "You want big money, screw you we'll just trade you and draft a guy(who's main comp was indeed AJ BRown) for a fraction of the cost."
  23. lol I should've known.
  24. Without seeing him I'm guessing no since he is listed as a CB, I think the last white CB was Jason Sehorn.
