I'm sure Baez makes that play.

Witt definitely is smooth defensively over there at 3rd, I imagine not many balls are going to get by him and Mondesi on that side.
-
Best thing to happen in that hellhole stadium since Granderson robbed Sizemore.
-
Skubal with a nice 1-2-3 1st, k's both Witt and Perez swinging.

Yeah it was a little low but it wasn't a huge drop off like you see if it ends up being something major. Like he was still touching 96 on the TV gun, so the optimistic in me wants to think it isn't something too severe but I guess you never know with pitchers.

Please somebody with more medical knowledge than me talk me off the ledge! The laymen in me wants to think that elbow sprain sounds like an impact injury like a ball off the elbow or something but I really don't know.

If the rest of the guys start hitting I think you can afford atleast 1 black hole in the lineup if he can save some outs and in turn pitches for our young pitchers. Plus smalll sample aside Hill did put up a 95 OPS+ last year in 150abs so it wasn't like he was completely terrible. If he could hit near that and provide plus defense I would be fine with him until Greene comes back.

Yeah we have to remember Baddoo is only a year older than Tork there's still time to improve.

It's especially troublesome considering the lack of K's from our staff. If we were a high swing and miss staff that didn't allow a ton of balls to be put in play you may be able to mask some of defensive deficiencies but when you're only getting 7 or so K's per game that is depending on a lot of outs from fielders.

I know he's not a top superstar but I brought up Milwaukee cause of Holiday but I forgot that they traded for him, I was thinking he signed there as a FA. I just think that the whole market thing gets overblown, guys have gone to huge markets but they also have spurned them or outright chose to leave there like Harden just did with Brooklyn. Also look at KD signing with GS, yeah I know the Bay Area is more desirable than Detroit but did KD really choose to go there cause the location and weather or cause he wanted to play with a great team and win a ring? My guess is the latter.

Here's the list of guys attending the draft live. Matt Corral is potentially playing with fire here, perhaps the NFL put out feelers ahead of time and he may indeed be going relatively early or they just wanted to publicly embarrass him while he sits in the green room the whole first round.
-
Also I think we could attract star players if we were winning, when OKC was winning guys wanted to go there, same with Cleveland with Lebron, Milwaukee now and so on, I think guys nowadays care more about winning a championship and overall team success than the market they play in.

I want more than just a rotational guy but I don't necessarily think we need to get a superstar either. It would be nice to swing for the fences with a high ceiling guy but then you end up risking ending up with a Sekou or something. I'd be content with getting a prime Al Horford type guy(not in terms of how they play just talking the caliber of player), you know the steady guy that is All Star caliber but is never going to be consider a true star. With the emergence of teams like Memphis, Dallas and Miami, I think the league is trending away from needing 2 or 3 superstars to win. I think they are showing if you have one true superstar a solid second option and a great supporting cast of guys that know their roles you can win in the NBA now.

Oh yeah good point, forgot about that.

I want to be excited about Meadows but until he does this in AA I'm going to temper my expectations. This is his 3rd season in West Michigan so I would hope he'd dominate it, if he goes to Erie and impresses I will then start to get a little excited.

The bad news is that we haven't played particularly well thus far, the good news is that despite not playing particularly well yet we're only 3-4, I think for us and any team for that matter it's important to just "tread water" when things aren't going well.

Did Miggy always play with earrings on before or is this a new thing? After 15 years of watching him you'd think I would know but they just look different on him so it has me wondering if its a new look.

Singuel looking like he want's to get to 3000 this weekend.
-
Seeing Miguel in the batters box against Greinke with the Royals is giving total 2010ish vibes.
-
I want I think I'm in a similar boat except I like Pickens more than Watson. Getting Cine and him would be my dream scenario for 32 and 34.

Yeah I think Hill was definitely are last superstar atleast in a national sense. Locals say Ben or Chauncey but they were never viewed that way on a national sense. At one point you could make a case that Grant was the most famous non Bulls player in the NBA outside of maybe Shaq. Iirc Grant actually was the top vote better in the ASG a couple times.

Barring a major setback to Cade or us getting extremely lucky in the lottery and jumping like 10 spots I think this will be the last year we pick in the top 5 range for awhile so Im hoping we hit a home run here. The guy doesn't have to be a superstar but I feel he needs to atleast be an All Star caliber guy if we're going to eventually want to take that next step in a couple years.
-
Damn that's some Detroit Lions luck/karma right there.
-
My guess is that they wanted to reward a 7 or 8 seed with atleast one "playoff" home game. Edit: after rereading your suggestion they would both get home games as well so I guess there goes my theory.
