Never forget Chad Ford's post draft take of Darko. On top of this he also said pre draft he had low post moves that rivaled Hakeem Olajuwon.

4/8 1:10 White Sox @ Tigers **OPENING DAY 2022**

Our last big pitcher signing Zimmermann threw 7 shutout innings in his first start with the team and we know how that turned out. Perhaps the opposite will happen with Erod since he struggled in his first start. -
Speaking of Luka and the Euroleague, I recently saw an interview he did with JJ Redick, JJ asked him about the differences between the leagues and while Luka said the NBA obviously has better players he thinks for him it is actually easier because of the rules. He specifically mentioned the 3 sec without guarding rule that they have in the NBA makes it so much easier for him offensively.

Yeah admittedly I didn't follow that draft or the predraft rankings that closely that year since the Pistons traded their pick to LAC for Blake, but with that said for as accomplished as Luka was and obviously as skilled as he was you'd think even as an outsider that didn't pay much attention I would've heard more hype about him but I really didn't, atleast that I can recall. I watched cball so I was familiar with Trae Young and heard the hype about him so my original thoughts on that trade were that the Hawks made out great. As good as Trae has been he obviously isn't no Luka.

Good Lord is that a sexy looking lineup... the White Sox isn't that bad either. -
Outside of something totally crazy I have no problem with them taking whatever pass rusher they view as best regardless of where they're mocked now. To me in this draft all the top 15-20picks are very similar, last I looked all the top 20 or so prospects all had grades within a one or two of each other so they are viewed essentially the same, atleast by the national pundits.

You'd think with all those nerds working in the Rays front office and all that fancy technology they supposedly have that they would have been smart enough to realize to sell high on him after his performance yesterday. MORANS!

Despite being the reigning MVP and possibly winning it again this year I still find Jokic to be strangely underappreciated..atleast by the average NBA fan. I'm sure the diehards understand his greatness but I think your everyday fan probably doesn't realize how good he is.

3 years later and he finally gets the ring. Funny thing is is that he won with the Lakers in 2020 so he received his ring from his 3rd championship before his 2nd championship. For those wondering why it took so long, Green insisted on wanting to get it in front of the Raptors fans and this was the first time he has played in Toronto since then due to all the restrictions the past couple years.

The Wordle (and such) Thread

Wordle 292 4/6 ⬛⬛🟨⬛⬛ ⬛🟨⬛🟨🟨 🟨⬛🟩🟨⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Pulled that one out of my ass to save my "par". Took staring at the letters for 5 minutes trying to find a viable word to do so though. -
I never had difficulty with Raburn, it was easy for me to remember to drop the y but I did have problems with Paredes. I would always go between that and Parades. I think that's why I just started calling him E-Sock.

I don't think anybody is saying he is good just that he played good the last quarter of the season and that he has literally proven you can win with him. Do I want an upgrade? Sure but there aren't any clear upgrades available right now so why not continue to build around him and see what happens?

I still think Goff got hurt in that GB game in week 2 and kept it to himself until it got so bad he was forced to sit out. Reason being the first game and a half he looked great physically, made a couple mental errors on week 1 but also made a few big time throws in that game and a half. Then I remember him going to the ground at Lambaeu sometime in the middle of the game and he just became a different qb after that. A couple games later and it was like he refused to throw it more than 10 yards cause he physically couldn't. Then after finally taking time off for the injury he returned at the end and looked like a good qb including winning NFC player of the week twice I believe.

I know some will point to Lamar in Baltimore and how well that worked out, yeah it has and yeah Baltimore passed on him once before taking him with a later 1st round pick but I think the situation was different with them in the sense that they didn't have many holes on the team. They could afford to swing for the fences, the Lions don't really have that luxury yet.
-
My feeling is if the Lions didn't see enough in the guy to take him at 2 then they must not have a ton of faith in them cause if you feel a guy is a franchise qb you take him at 2 and don't risk him being gone by your next pick.

May be too risky to do this with one of our young pitchers but I wonder if the Tigers are thinking about doing something like this with Tork or Greene? -
Totally agree and this is what I've been saying. If you don't think a qb is worth taking at 2 then he probably isn't worth taking at 32. Fwiw I think the Lions feel this way as well.

The Twins just traded All Star closer Taylor Rogers to the Padres for Chris Paddack. I think there were others involved too but those were the main pieces. -

I think I've been to 6 opening days, been years since my last and I think I only got good weather once. I believe it was 2011 or 12, it was against the Red Sox. It was still pretty chilly like 50ish but the sun was out so it felt good. -
I saw that the Prodigal Son Alex Avila is working for MLB Network as an analyst now, I wonder if he would ever consider coming home and working for the Tigers? I know it's not going to happen this year but perhaps next year? Call me an ageist but I would like to get an analyst in the booth that hasn't been retired since the Clinton administration. Also nice to get a guy who has ties to the most recent good Tigers teams.

Down to two games, both against teams that have something to play for in Milwaukee and Philly. Currently those two are in the 3 and 4 spot a 1/2 game behind Boston for number 2. With the way Toronto has been playing of late I would think there is a big incentive to get out of the 4 spot and avoid having to play them. Honestly with how bad Chicago has looked and their record against good teams if I were one of those teams I may almost prefer the 3 seed over the 2. If you catch Brooklyn or a Cavs team with Mobley and Allen back in round 1 that could be tough.

They just showed Denard Robinson in the crowd and it looked like he ate the Denard Robinson that was at UM. I almost didn't recognize him. -
The folks at NBC are going to wonder why Peacock Subs went through the roof over the summer, hopefully somebody will smarten them up to the fact that it was all due to the Tigers. They'll be the biggest thing for NBC since Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer.

Yeah I hear ya there, my good friend bought courtside tix to see Curry earlier this year cause that is his son's favorite player only for Steph to sit out. I guess Steph came and talked to them and a bunch of other folks that had Warriors gear on to sorta make up for it which I thought was cool.
