  1. Rumor is he was going to take the Minny job but then was reminded that he would have to face MCDC twice a year and he figured he'd rather take his chances with Ryan Day and OSU.
  2. Cade is said to be questionable for tomorrow's game. Hopefully the fact that he hasn't already been ruled out means that it isn't nothing too severe.
  3. Id be disappointed if we went QB 2 cause I feel if you were gonna do that you might as well have taken Fields last year who was a superior prospect to any of these qbs. I mean I love Sewell but Id rather have Fields and Hutch/Thibs/Neal than Sewell and Pickett/Willis.
  4. Ripken has the 3rd highest JAWS score and 3rd highest 7 year WAR of any SS in history only behind AROD and Wagner. Had a 7 year run where he averaged over 8 wins a season.
  5. Casey says Cade has a hip pointer, no word on if he is gonna miss any time.
  6. Yeah Cade's definitely got to get better about avoiding fouls particularly early. Its frustrating to see him have to go to the bench so early and sit for so long. Btw Cade, Bey and Stew were all selected to the Rising Stars game.
  7. There was an article today with Will Johnson's Dad talking about how Will feels about Harbaugh possibly leaving. Will's Dad says that Harbaugh was upfront with them when recruiting saying that there was a strong chance that he would be leaving to the NFL if offered an opportunity because he wants to win a Super Bowl before he retires. He told them that he was confident that the program would be in good hands if/ when he left and Will's father evidently believes that cause he said he told his son that he needs to atleast stay and try a year even if Jim leaves.
  8. I guess I never really looked at his numbers, I must be biased towards him cause when I first got into baseball he was the guy that was considered one of if not the best player at the time so as a child I of course bought into it.
  9. Cal Ripken seems criminally low to me. I wouldve put him in the top 30 and he's in the 60s after freaking David Ortiz?
  10. ESPN put out a list of which teams have the best assets to improve in the offseason and the Lions finished 9th(Jags were 1st). They used projected cap space and draft capital the next the two years as the criteria. Honestly I would've thought we be a little higher but there were a few teams like us who have multiple 1sts coming in but their's were of course higher than the 31st or 32nd that we will be receiving.
  11. Yeah he definitely did cause it was the first time I personally have ever heard of gps data being used to track guys speeds. Btw you think the league would have known that play speed differs from straight 40 time when the greatest WR ever Jerry Rice ran like a 4.7 40 yet on the field would blow by guys.
  12. Lol I guess many Cincinnati school districts have already announced that school will be canceled on the Monday following the Super Bowl. As somebody that has worked for a school district for almost 20 years I can say that's probably not a bad idea. That Monday is usually one of if not the most called off days for our teachers and with the substitute teacher void we have at the moment it makes it even more challenging. I can only imagine how many will be off in a city like Cincinnati that has loyal fans that haven't watched their team in the SB in over 30 years.
  13. I'm happy for him and I don't hate it or anything, I did say all year I was hoping for them to lose just for a better pick but once they made the playoffs I really didnt care either way since I having the 24th or 32nd pick wasnt a major difference to me. With that said Im not gonna lie and act like Im over the moon or anything, judging by some fans reactions you would think their own team won, I'm not like that at alll.
  14. Hopefully guys like Keith, Pacheco, Workman, Santana, Dingler etc. Can take big steps forward this year, if they stay stagnant or God forbid get worse the system could look like one of the bottom 5 in baseball once Greene and Tork get promoted. Of course we would have a bunch of young and hopefully All Star caliber players on the big league roster so it wouldnt be as pressing if the system was bad. Kinda like the White Sox the few years. There system dropped to the bottom but it really wasn't a major deal cause they had all the young star players on the team.
  15. Starting to sound like those retirement stories were a bit premature. Multiple sources including Brady's Father are saying he is not retiring. This has the potential to get real annoying real quick. I don't want another Brett Favre situation.
  16. I actually have that feeling too. I don't think its necessary some grand scheme he is orchestrating but he just strikes me as somebody that will get that competitive itch again after sitting out a year and want to come back and of course some team(s) will gladly pay him handsomely to do so.
  17. Also for the record, the guy who supposedly could never win a big game beat the greatest QB to ever play and forced him into retirement.
  18. The GOAT finally decides to hang them up. Good for him, his legacy is already set and there's nothing more for him to accomplish. No need to pull a Roethlisberger or Brees and overstay your welcome and look like a shell of your former self at the end.
  19. Wow that is fascinating and I can't believe this is the first I've heard of this. I mean I've heard of other questionable scoring errors and decisions from this era but never this particularly think with Lajoie and the batting title.
  20. I can see the point about Jags ownership and how the franchise has been terrible but I still think that is a desirably location. Perhaps I'm being naive or downplaying the importance of working for good ownership but to me I see the roster and I really don't think it is that bad relatively speaking, plus you have a ton of cap space, the first pick in the draft, play in a division with no real dominant team(I question the Titans staying power without a long term QB) and most importantly appear to have your young long term QB set. I would take that over positions that may have had better histories but don't have really any other positives going for them in the near future.
  21. I was so disappointed when that story about him and Olerud got debunked. That would have been an all time great story if true.
  22. I'm not entirely sure why he sold it, I do know that he did always dream of owning an NFL team though. I'm a big wrestling fan myself and listen to alot of wrestling podcasts. One of the podcasts I listen to is from Vince's right hand man in the WWE for 30 years Bruce Prichard. He tells the story that in the late 90s Vince tried buying the Vikings I believe but it didn't go through so according to Bruce, Vince said "F*ck it, if I can't buy an NFL team I'll just start my own football league", and that's how the first XFL was born.
  23. XFL 2.0 did get hurt big time by COVID, I will say that. It's hard to say if it had staying power but those first few weeks before COVID hit looked promising.
  24. BTW the XFL which is now owned by Dwayne Johnson is set to start back up in 2023 as well according to him. Apparently they are keeping the same cities as teams as the 2.0 version.
