I question the Jags owners but other than that I think that is a pretty attractive job if you believe that Lawrence is that stud QB like he was touted as. Less than a year ago he was touted as one of the 5 best QB prospects in like 40 years, so inheriting a team with that is a big deal. Plus they have a lot of cap space, the number 1 pick this year and play in a division where no teams have any long term QBs(assuming Watson is gone from Houston) so that is another major bonus. If I was an aspiring Head Coach that would be the job I would be going after.

I guess since he is the head coach everything falls on him but Stafford had arguably his two worst full seasons of his entire career in 2012 and 2013, where as under Caldwell he greatly improved. How much is due to Caldwell and/or the coaches he hired is hard to say, or is it just a talented QB like Stafford getting better with age? If it's the latter than I'm not so sure it's fair to Schwartz to compare what he did at the end to what Caldwell did.

Agree about Mobley, I love him too and I have no qualms if somebody were to say in a vacuum that he is better but in no way is he clearly better like Ford says and no way do I think the Pistons change to him over Cade if there was a redraft right now. Likewise if the Cavs took Mobley with the 1st pick I doubt they would switch to Cade either. For a team to switch their tune this early there would have to be some dramatic differences and that isn't the case. -

Speaking of which, Chad Ford put out his redraft today and he had Mobley and Barnes going 1 and 2. He said something to the effect that "If the draft were today no way would the Pistons pass on Mobley who has shown to CLEARLY have a higher ceiling than Cade. " I mean I'm not denying Mobley hasnt been great, particularly defensively but to say he clearly has a higher ceiling and that its obvious the Pistons would take him if ludicrous. -
Now after confusing it with Josh McCown last week NOW I can say I don't get the Josh McDaniels love.

This is awesome! Candace Parker calls out the TNT crew for not showing or mentioning Cade once in the highlight package despite his game. I get it the Pistons lost and Denver has the reigning MVP so they're going to get the bulk of the highlight but Cade is the current number 1 pick, you think he'd get some publicity by a basketball show when he has a great game. -
THE MICHIGAN PANTHERS ARE BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The xfl twice, UFL, NFL Europe, Alliance of American Football, Arena Football(that did atleast have some success at times) and possibly others I'm forgetting about. -
Saints ask permission to interview Glenn, as expected. Also asked to interview Bucs OC Byron Leftwich.

ESPN was talking about possible replacements for the Bucs if Brady retires and Goff was brought up. In fact they said he may be one of the more realistic options for them that won't break the bank. I don't really know what the Bucs free agency or cap situation looks like, but assuming they bring back most of the players they have I don't think Goff would be the worst option for them. As he has shown in the past he can win if he has the talent around him.

TIgers organization to Lloyd.

Bears are hiring Colts DC as their new head coach so no Caldwell there. Unfortunately for him it appears options are running out, atleast this year anyway.

Im sure it's the Kool aid but if Rodgers leaves GB I think there is a chance the Lions could steal the division next year. Of course it would be one of those 8-9 or 9-8 type division champs but the Packers without Rodgers and perhaps Adams are going to be mediocre, same with the Vikings and Bears. If we nail this draft and finally get lucky in close games and/or turnover differential I think we could win it.

Speaking of the Steelers, Big Ben just announced his retirement. He definitely had a good run, but this retirement was long overdue. He hasn't looked good in many years.

Like I said before I was in High School during the chase and I remember creatine and androstenedione became really popular among all the athletes in my school during that time. I don't remember if Mcgwire came out and credited those supplements but I do know that was the narrative going around my school. One of my classmates had an older brother who worked at GNC so he would always get the stuff for everybody.

I'd imagine those top 4 probably have a higher WAR than the vast majority of top 4s in history as well. I don't know for sure but it seems like it would be pretty rare to have two guys with 55+ WAR and another with 34 in the top 4. There's no doubt though that the roughly 340 combined WAR of the top 6 has to be not only the best top 6 but probably better than any one 1st round if not entire draft of all time.

I really like that Denver roster, the fact that they were .500 and actually outscored their opponents despite lack luster QB play, some crucial injuries and playing in one of the toughest divisions in football is a good indicator just how well rounded it is. If they were to get Rodgers I think they would be a team to be reckoned with.

I remember them cutting away to their at bats too. I was a huge Griffey fan and up until like the end of July or early August he was hanging pretty close with Sosa and Mcgwire so Baseball Tonight would have this slot machine graphic where each row was one of the players. Anyway anytime one of them would hit a HR the graphic would spit out 3 rows of said player before cutting to the HR. I was always on the edge of my seat when the graphic came on hoping that it would land on 3 Griffeys.lol

I was a junior in High School when McGwire broke the record and I remember it being the top story that was read over the PA on the daily announcements the next morning. I couldn't fathom something like that happening today, maybe if the Tigers did something major it would happen locally but that's about it.

John Givony of ESPN and Draft Express put out his latest mock where the picks were just based off current record. He has us taking Paulo at 2 with Chet going 1st to Orlando. Also read an article by Sam Vecenie of The Athletic where he compares the guys in this class to last years. He said according to every evaluator he talked to the top 3 of this past draft of Cade, Green and Mobley are seen as better than any of the prospects in this upcoming draft and that all 3 were worthy number 1 picks. Where as evaluators feel the top guys in this draft are more like your average 3 to 5 pick.

I must be Daniel Jones good luck charm cause Ive probably watched maybe 5 of his games and in all those games he looked pretty good to me and I could see the potential. Then I see his overall stats and the views from football people way more knowledgeable than me and I realize that those are just outlying performances.

Who do you want to replace Harbaugh if he goes to the NFL?
RandyMarsh replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in College Sports
Freaking John Harbaugh stealing from his brother! Seriously though could that be a sign that Jim is indeed gone or is football just that ruthless? I imagine it may be both. -
Collins would be a God send here and if you do decide to go with Ivey and not one of the bigs in the draft I would totally go after Ayton if we could. I guess the problem comes though is that I prefer Bey at the 4 vs. The 3 but that would be a small concession to have that much athletic talent in the front court.

Not that this means anything or is a free pass for those that didn't vote for them but I'm just curious I wonder if guys like Bonds or Clemens really care if they are in the Hall of Fame? Like in some borderline guys cases they probably love the feeling of being recognized, their legacy getting immortalized and for some perhaps bigger pay days at autograph signings but I'm not sure any of that really applies to Clemens or Bonds.
