  1. I remember watching that one, since the Dallas win probably the biggest win the past 30 years for the franchise. Not only did Barry get 2000 yards but it was a win or go home for both the Lions and Jets so as close to a playoff win as you can get. Of course in true Lions fashion they win a big game but something bad has to happen to offset it and that was the tragic Reggie Brown injury. I remember Bobby Ross's classic quote " There's only two things we can do for Reggie now, we can pray for him and we can play for him. "
  2. The Lions and NFL in general was the last sport I got into as a kid so this was either my first or 2nd season as a Lions fan, can't remember for sure. Little did I know the misery they would put me through and how it would all go downhill from there. Kinda like Marino making the SB his rookie year, he probably thought "Ahh this isn't too bad, I'll be back here" and little did he know he never would be. That's my experience with the Lions "ahh losing the NFC Championship game the first year I follow them, not too bad we'll be back some other time. "
  3. Yeah GB has clinched the 1 and barring a miracle Jags win we clinched the 2.....pick so there is absolutely nothing on the line for either team. Just a nothing game that I don't think I'll be watching.
  4. All I know is that its pathetic a team like the Eagles have already clinched a spot and now people are heaping praise to Hurts. Seriously go look at the teams they beat, they beat up on WFT, Giants, Lions, Falcons, Panthers, Jets and other cellar dwellars to get their 9 wins. The "best" team they beat was a Saints team that was playing their 3rd string QB and missing a bunch of other players. Every decent team they played they lost to and I suspect the playoffs isn't going to be any different.
  5. A year ago we may have gotten something good for him but unfortunately that ship has sailed, now best case scenario is probably a protected 1st and salary filler. Still though even that probably has more value for the Pistons going forward than Grant so if that's the best we can get I wouldn't be against doing it.
  6. Originally I suggested Red Hogs just so they could keep the red and since their oline back in the day was known as the Hogs. Red Hawks would work as well though.
  7. I have an irrational hatred for Baker Mayfield and the Browns(well they're from Ohio so I suppose that's reason enough) so seeing him and them look like crap brings a smile to my face.
  8. Just checked the score and I had to do a double take. Not only did the Pistons win but they won with Giannis,Middleton and Jrue all playing. When I saw the score I figured Milwaukee must have been playing all scrubs but nope. Cade and Jackson both returned and it appears they both had good games and Bey had another monster game scoring 34 on 8-12 shooting from deep.
  9. I don't know the whole details but from what I can decipher among various MLB pundits tweets it seems that Rosenthal was fired from MLB Network due to comments he made about Manfred. I guess Manfred didn't like them and basically forced MLB Network's hand. Just another reason to hate him.
  10. Yep it was at Yankee Stadium, I vividly remember going out to the bar to watch it. He ended up taking Clemens deep in his second game.
  11. I don't have the MLB Network so maybe they have been keeping things up to date but I find it odd how quiet everything is about the negotiations. Like I remember the strike in 94 Sportscenter would have updates on it on like a nightly basis but I haven't heard anything about this one.
  12. Nope, even if you made 100k a year, you'd have to work 8 lifetimes over at 50 years each to make that much.
  13. St. Brown looked great in the preseason so I was starting to drink the kool aid on him but then he disappeared for the first half of the season and I got worried that maybe he wasn't that player we saw in the preseason. But the last month or so he has been that player and then some. He may not be a top 5 wr like he has been playing but I do think he is legit. Not only for what he shown but also his pedigree, he was a 5 star recruit and top wr coming out of HS so it's not like he is just some unknown coming out of nowhere.
  14. Speaking of retirements, Cameron Maybin announced his retirement today after 15 seasons. While he may not have hit his star potential like many expected he carved out a nice little career for himself. I don't think he ever got that nice multi year contract though but still 15 years of MLB salary is a nice chunk of change.
  15. Having watched Holmgren dominate guys at every level I don't get why people are so against him. Sure he is skinny but he will put on mass and it's not like this is the 80s and 90s NBA. The league now is far less physical. He has unicorn like skills and ability. As of now I wouldn't take him over Paulo or probably Jabari Smith but I would gladly take him and be happy with him.
  16. Defense definitely didn't show up today.
  17. I definitely think they are capable of going forward but that says more about the parity in the NFL than anything. There isn't a Brady and Belichick in their prime, Peyton Manning Colts/Broncos or prime Steelers like Lewis had to deal with.
  18. 24-7 after another Seahawks TD. Good news is that atleast the D showed some signs of life on that possession but Wilson made a couple really good throws.
  19. 17-7 after a sweet St. Brown TD run!
  20. Yeah the team was due to have a game like this, it's been a couple months since a true blowout.
  21. BTW it still amazes me that with all the technology we have we still use two old men carrying 10 yards worth of chains to determine 1st downs.
  22. Love going for it but hate the playcall. A run out of a shot gun formation? Williams got the ball 6 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
  23. Lewis also had to contend with the Steelers when they were really good.
  24. Great call by the Bengals to go for it! If they kicked the FG they would have given Mahomes 50 seconds left in a game where they hadn't been able to stop him. By going for it worst case scenario is that you go to OT cause no way KC would have tried anything getting the ball at the 1 with no TOs. They would've just settled for OT.
