I don't know the stats but it seems like alot of Stafford picks this year have been of the "arm punt" variety. Basically the 3rd and long types where you just throw it 50 yards down the field in hopes of a penalty or miracle reception, if its intercepted no big deal cause it would be better than a punt anyway. That would explain why some of his advance metrics like QBR and his PFF grade are still high despite the high interception rate cause they don't penalize those type of interceptions that much.

I'm not denying that it isn't hard to win in the NFL without a franchise QB, it can be done(see the Eagles a few years ago) but it isn't easy. But what I'm arguing is wasting precious picks on QBs that very likely aren't going to be any better than Goff. We aren't in position to win next year regardless so we don't have to make any rash decisions. Just see how Goff looks next year with more playmakers and being healthy the whole year and reassess then.

Drafting a QB in a down draft for QBs just to draft one is even worse for your future.

I'm not a big gambler so I really don't know but the guys on the radio who do gamble brought up the point that baseball isn't even fun for gambling. Like for starters as we know it's so volatile so it's hard to bet on and the side bets aren't as exciting as other sports.

I don't think anybody is coming around to Goff as being some All Pro or franchise QB just that he has shown that he can be the game manager to take a team to the SB if he has the pieces around him.

Just to clarify my previous post, I would prefer one of my 3 units on defense to be elite(say top 3) and the other 2 being below average(say 20-25) than all being middle of the pack(say 14-17) even though if you add them both up they may still work out the same.

CB may not be the biggest need per se but I'm a firm believer in what wins in football if you can't have a great team top to bottom is having dominant units that create mismatches in your favor. LIke if you can get a dominant secondary suddenly that makes teams have to game plan differently and can cover up for holes you may have elsewhere on the field. Again not saying I would take Stingley over Hutch/KT just cause I think both are better players but hypothetically if they weren't better players and they all were equal I wouldn't pass on Stingley just cause we "don't need" CBs, just like we didn't pass on Sewell last year even though at the time it appeared we had more pressing needs than O lineman.

Just reading between the lines on some of thing Campbell has said and done, like saying they want to play smashmouth football and build the lines on both sides of the ball makes me think that they don't really mind having a "game manager" like Goff. I can see them building a team much like the Titans or some of those playoff Vikings teams of the last 5 years and that is have a QB that is capable of making a play but more importantly will protect the football. Goff has fumbled alot so maybe it won't be him but I can see them building the rest of the team and just finding that steady guy to lead them like the Vikes did with Cousins and Titans with Tannehill and not necessarily some high end guy that would cost an early pick to draft or a bunch of picks to trade for.

I meant to post this last week but I forgot. I personally think he has Faedo way too high at 7. I think Wentz is too high at 5 as well but I can see the argument since he is almost MLB ready, even if he likely isn't going to be any better than back of the rotation. I also think Id put Tork at 1 over Greene but I can see both sides. I just think Tork is more of a sure thing with the bat than Greene.

Jesus that it so crazy, I was just listening to the radio the other day and they played a clip of Madden and Summerall and I was trying to remember if Madden was still alive or not but by the time I got home Id already completely forgot about it.

The thought of a Ori and Stingley combo does sound very enticing and could potentially give the Lions a great secondary. With the emegergence of Harris to go with the Okwara brothers our pass rush could still be solid. I of course wouldn't take Stingley over Hutch/KT but if we were to trade down ending up with him wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Surtain has been a shutdown DB already for Denver so some do contribute from day 1 and Stingley may be one of them.

Ive been seeing more and more that the Jags are interested in a tackle to protect Lawrence and would probably go with Neal 1st overall. That would certainly work for me.

Speaking of that our old friend Greg Monroe played for the t wolves last night. I saw "G Monroe" in the box score and I had to do a double take. I thought he was like completely done with basketball. Btw his stat line was pretty good, 11pts 9rebs in only 25 minutes.

Looking at the standings the Packers are 1 game up on the Cowboys, Rams and Bucs. I have no idea of the tie break situation but if the Pack hold it over them then they will indeed have nothing to play for against the Lions if they win this Sunday.

I don't know all the outcomes but I would imagine a Packers loss this week would help the Lions as it likely would mean that they would be playing for home field advantage against the Lions. If they win and clinch HFA this week I'd imagine the team they'd throw out there against us would resemble a covid stricken team. Of course we played the Packers a couple times the last week of the season where they rested guys cause they had nothing to play for and they still won so it may not matter anyway.

The CDC shortened their quarantine guidelines for asymptomatic cases to 5 days, vaccinated or not. Their reasoning is after further testing they found the vast majority of transmissions come on the early onset and not after 5 days.

I actually kinda envy that, getting to live and experience places all over the country. I lived in Seattle for a couple of years as a kid when my Dad temporarily transferred there for work but otherwise have been in southeastern Michigan my whole life.
