  1. Its weird to me how in states loaded with talent like Florida and California that all their biggest schools could all be down at the same time.
  2. A few months The Athletic ran an article where they polled a 100 college assistants and asked them the best jobs in the country. Out of that top 10, USC,ND,Oklahoma, Florida and LSU will have all become available since then. If Day were to leave for the NFL then OSU would make 6. Just a crazy time in the college football. BTW the Michigan job ranked 11th on that list.
  3. There's still Stroman and Rodon but yeah the pitching well is starting to run dry.
  4. Whoa Brian Kelly leaving the Irish for LSU job, crazy!
  5. I forgot about Chris Taylor. I suppose he wouldn't be the worst consolation prize in the world. Decent enough bat, versatile enough to play all over the field if we do indeed want to try Kriedler at SS plus with the money saved we could potentially allocate that money elsewhere.
  6. Aside from Max, I think the pitchers have come at a reasonable rate. Ray basically went for what we paid Zimmermann 7 years ago.
  7. I didn't see that. Passan mentioned Baez and the Ms, saying something like "After signing Ray the Mariners don't appear to be done, they are hot on the trail of Bryant and Baez."
  8. Theres still 4 out of the 5 SS left but we haven't been linked to Seager or Story at all, the rumors are Correa is out of our range so that just leaves Baez. Im really starting to get concerned were going to get shutout as it appears the Mets, Mariners and others are in on Baez and they have shown that they will throw big money around.
  9. Not 5* but still a 4* JR who is one of the better DTs in that class. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come on the recruiting front for UM.
  10. Damn, I got excited when I saw Beck and his tweet starting with "Can Confirm". Too bad it was only about Boyd being non tendered.
  11. Jays get Gausman, 5/110. Not sure if this means they are letting Ray walk or not but if they keep him they are going to have a damn strong rotation.
  12. That was some great clock management there by the "genius" Sean McVay.
  13. As far as the Aidan/Thibs debate, lets be real, whoever we pick will end up being average at best and whoever we pass on will turn into a perennial All Pro. That's just how things work with us.
  14. That's like what a million or so a year now with inflation? For comparison the MLB minimum last year was 570K. So crazy.
  15. McVay has such a punchable face, not to mention comes across as arrogant as all hell with the smartest guy in the room vibe so nothing would please me more than to see him get fired.
  16. Yeah Johnson is one of those announcers who you love when things are going well for your team but find annoying as all hell when your team is struggling. I personally feel he over does things at times to the point it feels forced but I suppose that is better than an announcer that shows no emotion.
  17. The Rams have alot of tough games left. Got the gimme next week with Jacksonville but after that they have to go to Arizona, play at Baltimore, at Minnesota and they close with SF who destroyed them earlier this year. They got off to a great start so they should be in the playoffs but if they're not careful they very well are looking at being a bottom seed going on the road in which case the Lions pick could end up being around 20th.
  18. Stafford under throws a wide open receiver 30 yards down the field then follows it up with the devastating pick 6 to give the Packers the 36-17 lead with 2pt conversion attempt coming. The more things change the more they stay the same.
  19. I mean if you're in the "anti tank" crowd and want less terrible teams throughout the league you have to be happy with this Rangers and Semien deal. The Rangers by all accounts are still atleast a few years away from being serious competitors even with a Semien like deal yet they still went out and threw big money at a 31 year old SS. This definitely goes against all the moves in recent history that MLB clubs have made.
  20. 7/175 for Semien.
  21. BTW the Twins resigned Buxton to a 7yr 100 million dollar extension. That is a fabulous deal for them imo. It buys out 1 year of arb so they essentially got him for like 6/85ish extension. I know he has had an injury history but boy when he is on the field he is arguably a top 5 player in all of baseball. Last year he put up over 4 wins in just 62 games. That's over a 10 WAR for a full season. The covid shortened year he was on a 6 WAR pace. I think if he would've waited till FA he would've had no problem getting 6/85 as a 5 tool CFer entering his prime who happens to be the best defensive CFer in baseball.
  22. Yesterday during Riley's post game conference a reporter asked him about leaving and brought up LSU first so Riley said "Let me stop you right there, I'm not going to be the next coach at LSU." lol in hindsight that is such a sly answer.
  23. Semien to Rangers for 7 years per Heyman. No $$ details yet though.
  24. Lincoln Riley going to USC. That's a major hire on their part and big loss for Oklahoma.
  25. It would be a nice change of pace to have a CFP without Bama, OSU, Clemson or Oklahoma.
