  1. I would love to get Buxton if we had the firepower to get him but only if our medical staff had confidence in him cause like Correa he has missed alot of time but unlike Correa some of his injuries worry me long term namely the concussion issue. He has missed time due to concussions and migraine headaches and that worries me but I'm not a doctor so if a Doctor checked him out and thought it wasn't something to be concerned with long term I would love to get him and sign him long term. With that said I know that it would be a pipe dream cause even if he checked out and we wanted to I don't think we have the ammunition unless we were willing to part with Tork or Greene and more and I don't see that happening.
  2. Watching Pats and Falcons right now just to see my boy Mac Jones and they showed the Falcons upcoming schedule and the Lions were on there so Aikman goes "Speaking of the Lions we get our first look at them next week on Thanksgiving Day against the Bears" to which Buck says something like "Lions coming off a tie against the Steelers so maybe they're moving in the right direction" only for Aikman to close it with "I don't know about that, I actually watched that game against the Steelers and I got to tell you I was glad when it was finally over." lol boom roasted.
  3. I was Napoleon Dynamite for Halloween some 10 or so years ago and I bought a pair of 20year old moon boots to complete the costume. Only time I ever worn a pair but I have to say they were pretty damn comfortable.
  4. Nice summary Betrayer, I've only watched like 4 or 5 games this year and when I do Im almost exclusively focused on Cade so I really haven't even paid attention to other guys. I think you're write up of Cade is spot on, out of the times I watched him I came away impressed by some facet of his game everytime. My only concern is that I wonder if he just has an inconsistent outside shot. Like he may shoot 40 to 45% for the year but it will come from shooting 50+ for a couple weeks but 20% for the next couple. I say that not only cause of the small sample we have seen thus far but from watching him in college. I watched a game where he scored 40 something and looked like Steph Curry but also watched him score like 4 pts while going Ofer from deep. I know most players can be inconsistent from the outside but some more than others and he may be like that.
  5. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2022-nfl-mock-draft-pittsburgh-cincinnati-and-cleveland-tap-into-talent-at-local-college-programs/ Latest CBS mock has us taking Thibs and Drake London. I know mocks mean nothing, particularly this early in the game but I enjoy reading them for s&'g's sometimes they can give you an idea whereabouts evaluators have guys.
  6. AJ probably has Avila locked up somewhere so he doesnt screw this thing up.
  7. I wonder if USC is hurt at all by now having 2 NFL teams? My brother lived in LA during the Leinart and Bush days and he said they were like rockstars in the city in no small part to having no football competition in the fall from an NFL team. Id imagine that had to bring some appeal to going there. Of course you're still playing in the 2nd biggest market in the US and in Southern California but it might not have the same cache as it did pre NFL.
  8. Your best bet if you want to get out if a contract early is to give the player an out after 3 years(ideally it would be 4 or 5 but players don't take those), the problem with that though is if say in Correa's case he is elite those 3 years we put ourselves in a pickle of either letting him walk for nothing or ponying up an even bigger contract to keep him. The positive though is gives you 3 years of elite play and buys you 3 years of time to potentially develop a home grown replacement.
  9. Not a hitter but Scherzer's 7 year deal has worked out but yeah very few deals that go more than 5 years end up working out long term but thats the price of going that direction. If the first 6 years he helps us reach the playoffs 4 or 5 times then you can live with him not being worth it the last 4 years, particularly if he is atleast somewhat productive then.
  10. Oregon seems poised to possibly join the elite with the recruiting classes they've been putting together of late. Of course they were on the cusp like 5 or 6 years ago when they had Mariota and co. but proceeded to fall back in line so I guess we shall see.
  11. There's definitely risks and there is a relatively good chance if we give him say 10/300 there are going to be a few years whether it be at the end or him missing time/playing poorly out of those 10 where it's going to look brutal for the Tigers but I think it's worth the risk to try to take the team to the next level. Correa is a legit top 5-10 player in baseball when he's on the field that plays a premium position that we need and is only at the age where he's entering his prime. When you have a chance to acquire a player like that and it "only" costs money I think you have to do it. Especially when you're at the stage of the rebuild that we are. Furthermore in a sport like baseball where there are no salary caps and young players are cheap you can afford to have an albatross contract or two and still be able to build a good team, so even if it does turn out bad down the road if we have the ability to draft and develop guys it won't prevent us from being good.
  12. Yeah Olave went 13th and Wilson, Dotson and Drake London were in the early 20s so Burks would be the 5th WR off the board.
  13. ESPN put out their latest mock, it was done by Jordan Reed who is somebody I'm not familiar with. Anyway he has them taking Thibs at 1 and WR Treylon Burks from Arkansas with the Rams pick at 26. BTW he has Hutch going number 2, Ojabo 10 and Matt Corral as the first QB off the board at number 8 to WFT.
  14. I guess it was funded mostly by MSU Grad and former MSU basketball legend Matt Ishbia and some other wealthy alum who's identity I can't remember. They both must be making bank to be able to fund this much money.
  15. Yeah that one caught my eye as well, I couldn't find any details but some people speculate that the massage table broke causing him to fall on the floor, either that or he was getting massaged by the Incredible Hulk.
  16. I mentioned this before but aside from missing some time with a neck injury the rest of his injuries were complete flukes(hit by pitches, sliding into home and said catcher stepping on his hand, a broken rib from a massage gone wrong etc.) nothing that should point to him being a long term injury risk or risk of nagging injuries.
  17. I hope it gets resolved relatively quickly and the season starts on time. That would just be Detroit fans luck, they finally field a team that looks like they could at the very least be kinda competitive, especially if we do indeed sign one of the top SSs only for the season to get delayed.
  18. I thought this was cool.
  19. They may or may not take a TE but if they do it has nothing to do with the organizations history, this is a completely different management team from top to bottom and that includes the owner. Sheila had no say or anything to do with those prior picks.
  20. Didn't see the game but its nice to find out the Pistons won, even though they haven't been good this year its always a pleasant surprise to see a win against the Pacers. Seems like we always lose to them. Nothing really stands out in the box score, Cade went 16,8 and 7 but was only 1 of 8 from beyond the arc. No idea what the shots looked like but it could be tired legs as it is his 4th game in 6th nights. Before this year he may not play that many in 2 weeks.
  21. Ooh Beck is outed as the lone voter to not have Ray first. He had Cole 1 and Ray 2.
  22. Fister's numbers were fine in 2013 but watching him particularly towards the end of the year it seemed like he was on borrowed time. Like his fb didnt look like it had the same life on it and his groundballs were getting hit harder and harder, fortunately still right at people though. Idk it was things like that which is why they traded him and I was ok with it. Like the old adage goes, it's better to trade somebody a year early than a year too late.
  23. Yeah people weren't happy with it. I personally didn't care for it at the time only cause there were some reports that said teams didn't even know Fister was available or else they couldve potentially trumped that offer. Even though that may not have been true I took it at face value and thought he didn't do his due diligence by not seeing what other teams had to offer.
