  1. Yep, people hear finger injury and they just assume he is being soft but nobody really knows the details behind it or how cumbersome it was in terms of blocking. It may not have been a matter of toughness rather the fact that he couldn't do his job properly and he or management wisely chose to sit out instead of risking the health of his QBs and RBs by having defenders in the backfield constantly.
  2. Looking ahead to next week, I think this is another game that we could potentially steal. Cleveland has been hot or cold depending on the week, some weeks they look like a Super Bowl contender others like they should be picking at the top of the draft. Of course they looked like the latter yesterday which means they will probably look like the Super Bowl contender against us but lets hope they can string together another bad week and we can finally win a game. There isn't a whole lot more on the schedule that looked doable.
  3. I'll let it slide since it's Johnny Kane.
  4. I guess assistant pitching coach Juan Nieves was Rodriguez's pitching coach when he broke into the majors and they've always had a good relationship so that's probably a big reason why he chose here over other potential destinations.
  5. Are we done with starting pitching now or do you think we're still in the market for one more? Personally I would feel better if we signed atleast 1 more, preferably somebody with some upside but at the very least I think we need a back of the rotation guy. Right now we have Mize, Skubal, Manning, Rodriguez and presumably Alexander in the rotation but not much depth in the minors to come help us if/when any of the guys get injured or struggle. There's potentially Wentz but that's about it, atleast that I can think of off the top of my head. I suppose there is the option of converting Fulmer back to a starter but that's not a sure thing.
  6. It's also nice to see them go after a guy that has solid peripherals but not so solid superficial stats. In years past it seems that they would've steer cleared of a guy like this due to his ERA.
  7. Per baseball savant, just 67% of his groundballs were converted into outs this past season ranking dead last in baseball, I believe the average is around 77% so being a full 10 points worse than average is just some brutal luck.
  8. He's in the 90th percentile in average exit velocity and hard hit percentage(technically 87th there) which tells me that he is getting terribly unlucky. Usually guys that give up that low of EVs have a good BABIP not a bad one.
  9. If he pitches well the first 2 years like the Tigers hope and expect he will almost surely opt out so unless he's a bust from day 1 we shouldn't have to be on the hook for more than 2 years unless we choose to renegotiate a new contract if/when he opts out.
  10. Fangraphs predicted him to get 4/80 so 5/77 seems like a small bargain, also there is an opt out after year 2 so we may not even be on the hook for that whole amount.
  11. I love it! Rodriguez was one of the 2nd tier SPs that I most coveted. If Fetter can work his magic on him he could be a stud here.
  12. I have to wonder if Goff has been dealing with some injury most of the year. I mean it's not like he looked like Tom Brady the first couple weeks but he atleast looked like a bottom tier NFL starter, he made some good throws(particularly in the first half of the GB game) but also some dumb mistakes that overshadowed them. The last 5 or 6 weeks though he looks completely hopeless, like he doesn't even look capable of being a back up. It's just hard for me to imagine a player could possibly regress that much without some sorta injury.
  13. Goff and Rudolph are totally that spiderman pointing gif right now.
  14. Najee Harris is half way to Philadelphia and Reeves-Maybin still feels the need to hit him.
  15. That missed extra point surely isn't going to come back to haunt them, right?
  16. 42 yard TD run for Igwebuike and the boo birds are out in Pittsburgh! I love it!!
  17. I mean it worked so maybe they were trying to throw them off but it's weird to see a team run the ball on 3rd and 9 unless they have absolutely no confidence in the QB or he is indeed hurt.
  18. To further the Correa rumors Twitter sleuths noticed that he had the Tigers emoji in his bio today before deleting it.
  19. If the Lions could somehow pull this off we'd have a rare weekend where both Michigan teams won, the Pistons won, the Red Wings won and the Lions won. Considering the state of Detroit/Michigan sports the past decade things like that just don't happen that often.
  20. Oklahoma lost so that puts them behind UM now. How about this scenario, what if both UM and MSU win out in the regular season but MSU loses in the B1G Title game. Would a 1 loss Michigan team be worthy of making the CFP despite not even winning their division outright and if so how epic would the Valenti meltdown be?
  21. Michigan holds on 21-17, solid win. I would've bet my everything that they were gonna lose after that fumble but the defense stepped up to hold them to the field goal and the offense responded. Good stuff!
  22. Another Roman Wilson TD, 14-6 Michigan! Nice drive to start the half.
  23. Robert Woods just tore his ACL and is out for the year. Probably glad they signed OBJ now!
  24. Florida just gave up 42 points in the first half to *checks notes* Samford. It's amazing how all the Florida teams have basically turned to crap the last half decade or so.
  25. Lions coming off a bye and the Steelers on a short week, I think this is a game that they could potentially steal at the very least I expect them to cover. Of course I thought they were gonna beat Philly last game and they got steamrolled so you never know with this team or the NFL in general.
