  1. That's what I thought too. Who knows why? The kid would have still been in trouble but nothing like he is now.
  2. I haven't heard this. What possible charges could they face? From what I understand so far is that when the school admin met with the parents and the kid, it was the day of the shooting. The kid had the gun in his bag or locker at that time. Its easy to look back and say they should have searched the kid. I assume the parents didn't let on they bought the gun a few days earlier. On a radio show I was listening to earlier today, the mom sent the kid a text saying Don't do it. They were thinking that after the meeting she went home and looked for the gun and couldn't find it.
  3. That will all depend on what the parent(s) said and what they filled out on the paperwork. If the gun shop knew they were purchasing for the kid its possible the shop would have issues and could lose their FFL.
  4. This is an absolutely stupid thing to say and its so far from the truth.
  5. Winning the WS would be huge but for me its not the end all. The last two times they were in the WS has been pretty disappointing. I think they won one game in 2006 and were swept in 2012. I look forward to a competitive season where they are in contention for the post season. The last few years have been painful when the team they put on the field wouldn't of had a chance to win the Little League WS.
  6. I voted for "on time" but that's optimistic that both sides realize they are shooting themselves in the foot if it doesn't. They need to lock themselves in a room and not come out without a deal. I think the life of the sport depends on it. Fans won't take it well if the season doesn't start on time and they won't all come back when it does.
  7. In other shooting news, Alec Baldwin now claims he didn't pull the trigger. I think his lawyers have gotten to him. A gun won't fire on its own and he was holding it.
  8. There might be sentencing guidelines in Michigan that would require them to only give the kid so much time if convicted. I think I remember some sentences being changed for people convicted as a minor even if charged as an adult.
  9. The kids will most likely spend a good portion of his life behind bars. The bigger question is will one or both of his parents share the same fate? Even if convicted, I doubt the parents would get more than a few years but it still destroys their life. Their life is already destroyed at this point but it doesn't make up for the lost lives.
  10. It looks bad, there's no disagreement on that. I want to know more before I condemn someone like this. Its more than political banter of throwing accusations over something. RIttenhouse looked bad too until we saw the entire video.
  11. When we discussed Rittenhouse all the facts had been out for a long time. Even then a couple things came out at trial that was new. All I'm saying with the officer is wait for all the detail to come out. He might be 1000% guilty or he might not. A police officer is different than the everyday civilian carrying a concealed handgun. The officer has a duty to protect the public and him or herself. If the guy in the wheelchair had a knife and if the officers felt he was a danger to others they couldn't let him go back in the store. What would have happened had the guy went back in the store and stabbed someone or took hostages? Just because he's in a wheelchair doesn't make him harmless. In all officer involved shootings there is one thing in common and that is they don't shoot just once. They are trained to remove the threat and fire multiple times. The police bureaucrats may have jumped the gun and fired the officer or maybe they know things that haven't been released. When all is said and done the officer might spend the rest of his life in prison or he might sue for back pay and reinstatement. Nobody here knows they just think the bad guy is the one with the gun legally. There is a lot of jumping to conclusions and bad information on the politics part of this forum.
  12. Apparently the guy in the wheelchair had a knife. Why don't you let the facts come out before you crucify someone. I know some of you like to assume things you have no idea about so remember this is the USA and a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
  13. You should just give it break. You are so far out in left field that your not even in the ballpark anymore. I'm trying to be nice but you really have no idea what you are talking about in regard to firearms in the US and its more obvious with every post.
  14. That's a good point. To most people its like the abortion argument in that its all or nothing. They need to start properly enforcing the laws on the books and start punishing people beyond a slap on the wrist for their crimes no matter who or what they are. Yesterday the prosecutor in the Oxford case said we need more gun laws. The kids already broke several laws so what makes you think he would abide by any more laws.
  15. You are against guns and your comments prove it. You are against deer rifles if you think semi automatics should be banned. Most rifles are semi automatic and they operate the same as AR-15 rifles. I mentioned before that some people here know nothing about firearms and its obvious in the comments. Theyre just repeating what some anti gun liberal source tells them.
  16. The best thing McConnell ever did in his career was keep Garland off the SCOTUS bench. That POS has shown his true colors as a very politicized AG. Kagan and Sotomayor are more politicians than we need on the court that is supposed to be non-political.
  17. You anti gun people can only see one side. While we stop making guns, let stop making anything that is used to kill people. The will be no more vehicles produced because they kill people everyday and are used as a weapon to kill. Stop producing knives, hammers and even staplers for the same reason. By all means stop building and flying airplanes. We all know what they are capable of. See how rediculous your anti gun rhetoric is. If you are afraid of guns or don't like them you should not have them but it doesn't mean other people aren't capable of owning and using them properly. Same as vehicles, knives, airplanes etc.
  18. Almost every gun produced is a semi-automatic now. Main exception are revolvers that are either single or double action. Even those are semi auto meaning one trigger pull=one bullet fired. I still say the problem is the person and not the tool used. If there were no guns, people set on hurting, killing or destruction would find another tool. Darrell Brooks used a SUV as his tool to kill as many other have. Are we all going to ride bikes now because we can't trust people in their cars? If not cars then airplanes, knives, hammers and bombs have all been used to kill. In the 1920s someone used a bomb to blow up a school in Michigan. Even if all guns were gone there are a lot of people in the country with the knowledge and tools to make one. All that's needed is a lathe and mill. A friend of mine built a gatling gun. Its an amazing piece of work. Its not real accurate but fires well.
  19. I agree that WCastro starts out in Toledo unless he kills it it ST. I think he will transition to mainly OF in Toledo.
  20. I had a single shot .22 rifle at a very young age. I think I was 10 or 11. It sat in my closet and I wasn't allowed to take it out unless my dad was with me and then we went out and shot targets. After I had kids I passed my knowledge on to them. Its all about how you are brought up. Some people have a interest in firearms and others don't. By the comments I read here, some of the posters don't know anything about firearms. There's nothing wrong with that but don't knock the people who are firearm enthusiasts and properly train themselves and their family on firearms. There's a right way and a wrong way to do everything. The shooters family did it wrong.
  21. The Royals made a "big" move today. They signed Jacoby Jones to a minor league deal
  22. This must of been posted by a five year old.
  23. Huh? We were having a discussion mainly on what all is wrong. I was reading a couple articles on the shooting and the suspect and family have lawyered up. Neither article came out and said it directly but were eluding to father could be in a lot of hot water for his role in purchasing and giving the gun to his kid. Its all being looked at.
  24. You'll b waiting a long time for that.
  25. In a way all of this is good. The Democrats are going to have a tough time taking the WH in 2024 and running against Trump would be their best chance to win. If they throw enough shade on Trump hopefully the Republican will nominate a better candidate and dems won't stand a chance.
