  1. You both have it right. I think every generation laments a loss of standards, but this seems different to me. It’s not so much as the standards have been lowered, as they have been flipped to actively promote the behaviors the standards had been established to protect against.
  2. Since the game is putting me in a bad mood, I’ll gripe about the incredibly stupid MLB ad with the stats on batters that tapped the plate in last years playoff. Whoever green lit that idiotic waste of effort should be fired.
  3. Where’s the “Oh no, we suck again” graphic? Sigh…
  4. The twinkies left him in a bit too long. 😃
  5. This ump sucks goat balls.
  6. Agree on the catch, my MLB app works now…is there action in the pen? Paddack’s pitches look flat and very hittable from my brief viewing (and score).
  7. MLB not working in my location. 😡

  9. Anything you can do…
  10. I’m stuck with Gameday. Were either of Javy/Torres OF drives more than routine outs?
  11. Almost the best you could hope for in that situation
  12. More insurance runs, please.
  13. Torres signed on to the plan
  14. Emmm, DFS 😋
  15. It seemed to me that Hinch was pushing Vest more than he would like and with Kahnle slipping that would likely have continued. Holton seems to be more effective than earlier in the year, but isn’t a shutdown pitcher. So, now they can ease the load on those two. And hopefully Sewald is able to help down the stretch and in the playoffs. They’re a better team today than they were yesterday. And they were pretty good yesterday.
  16. Any last minute trades that haven’t been announced yet?
  17. I was particularly thinking of a depiction of the British attempt to capture him and he escapes, by sea, to end up in America. The story of before he got here adds a lot IMO.
  18. Quote On July 31, 1777, a 19-year-old French aristocrat, Marie-Joseph Paul Roch Yves Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, accepts a commission as a major-general in the Continental Army—without pay. During his service as the Continental Congress’ secret envoy to France, Silas Deane had, on December 7, 1776, struck an agreement with French military expert, Baron Johann DeKalb, and his protege, the Marquis de Lafayette, to offer their military knowledge and experience to the American cause. However, Deane was replaced with Benjamin Franklin and Arthur Lee, who were unenthused by the proposal. Meanwhile, King Louis XVI feared angering Britain and prohibited Lafayette’s departure. The British ambassador to the French court at Versailles demanded the seizure of Lafayette’s ship, which resulted in Lafayette’s arrest. Lafayette, though, managed to escape, set sail and elude two British ships dispatched to recapture him. Following his safe arrival in South Carolina, Lafayette traveled to Philadelphia, expecting to be made General George Washington’s second-in-command. Although Lafayette’s youth made Congress reluctant to promote him over more experienced colonial officers, the young Frenchman’s willingness to volunteer his services without pay won their respect and Lafayette was commissioned as a major-general. ——- This seems to have the makings of a great movie.
  19. We have achieved Bert plus one.
  20. I missed the start of the game and tuned in to see bases loaded, one out, already down a run. And then Mize continued to miss pitches. Things have turned out pretty good since then…
  21. Do you take Melton out? Low pitch count, but he seemed to be a little less dominate last inning.
