  1. Agreed that Jung had fallen off so much that he wasn’t going to be in the organizations short-term plans. And that him making a change that has positive results is great. Whether that can be sustained or if it means they keep him long term is TBD. Normally a high draft choice like him would be a significant chip for a trade, but so far this year his value was too low. Can he do enough in the next month to raise his stock?
  2. To your last point, a good chunk of that was rung up on Whitley, who had been released recently and had an era over 8 when he came in today. Now it’s 13. But yes, your point stands, they have been scoring enough to win…it’s the pitching.
  3. Throw strikes, dummy
  4. Peaches shares his baseball nightmares…
  5. Nice of the Rays to provide batting practice for us.
  6. Brieske’s line - yikes
  7. After a long lapse… Franyerber!
  8. I think McClain had already released the ball to first before the toe tap.
  9. Huge turnout here in Eugene, significantly larger than the previous ones. I will watch what the official count is. To me many of the signs are clever and touch on the broad variety of Drumpf’s fascism, but they really serve to support the protesters. We had positive honking from lots of people driving by, but most wouldn’t have been readable. I think the sheer numbers are the thing to impact public opinion.
  10. @GalagaGuy Please explain where Padilla screamed. I wouldn’t even describe his tone or volume as shouting, not even close. You chose to describe it that way-own it.
  11. Enough for me. Go Skubs tomorrow.
  12. And Tork watches strike three down the middle.
  13. Well there was the whole dishonesty about his Covid vaccine status. He’s a narcissist. Some people like that, some don’t.
  14. The Oregon law was changed recently. I think New Jersey is the sole holdout now.
  15. Not from walking to the mound, from kicking dirt on umps. 😝
  16. Re what Oblong said-another reason I bailed on the local paper-they had the same sleazy guys who made errors in what was owed, always in their favor. The campus paper was all prepaid-no collections.
  17. I did the paper route thing starting when I was eleven, including the collection. A year of that convinced me to switch to the university paper-5 days a week, and all indoors at dorms once I got those “routes”. I could deliver 180 papers in less than half an hour. Plus see the circus of dorm hallways. The Daily Illini is/was a real paper, some issues were 60 pages.
  18. Aside from getting the rotation back, I am hoping we can get Vierling and a couple shutdown-type arms for the pen. For the stretch run and on into the playoffs.
  19. Counting on people that embrace fascism, don’t believe in the Constitution, or law. In other words anti-American Americans.
  20. Hopefully Mize gives enough solid innings and the bats provide enough support that the pen doesn’t need to be taxed.
