  1. I believe the actual quote did not say everyone was available for trade, it said just about everybody. May be too hair-splitting for some, but it is a distinction in my mind.
  2. I don’t want to limit the return to starting pitchers, this year is lost. Manning may be back soon, possibly Wentz later. Get the most talent back from a trade, we have holes in many areas.
  3. I think Skubal has more stuff than Boyd ever did. Some similarities, sure, but I always felt Boyd was getting results beyond his stuff that wouldn’t hold up. I also doubt Skubal gets traded, just wanted to say he seems different enough to me to not evoke the rumored Yankee trade scenario. As you were
  4. Well they don’t want to end up as Bannon’s cellmate.
  5. So, way back in the Spring there were folks here advocating a trade to get Montas. Who were we thinking from our side would get it down?
  6. Robert Duvall, or Larry Linville? Manfred does have some ferret genes.
  7. You posted something that was dumb and misleading, for the reasons Rob pointed out. I would expect a man to own up to being wrong, but you keep trying to deflect. Weak.
  8. So the All Star game is winding down, the AL has a big lead and Miggy hasn’t been in yet. Bring him on as a PR? 😎
  9. This RP has seen his era rise more than a full run this inning.
  10. What a different few days for Schoop, after a hot streak he gets the IBB.
  11. It’s so hard to not be hopeful. And make the call. Been there. Very sorry for your agonizing, and having to say goodbye to a friend you love.
  12. I was tempted to pick on Pilkington for his last name, but let it go. But then I saw his first name and that it was spelled with a K. Punish this guy, even if it’s his parents doing.
  13. Happy birthday. Just for today, I won’t yell at you to get off my lawn. 😎
  14. I prefer the term Militant Agnostic: I Don’t Know, and Neither Do You
  15. A) want more than one power guy. B) want a thumper, don’t see Baddoo as that guy. C) thumper = 30 dongs + most seasons
  16. Separate from the Andujar question, I agree they need a power bat in the OF (or 3B), and one of the problems I see with our projected OF in the next few years is power. Really only Greene and Meadows (normally) have power. Hill, Reyes, Daz not so much. Would really like to have a thumper in RF whether through trade or FA.
  17. I don’t get why whole countries seem to expect that the healthcare system have a primary focus on making sure people are healthy. 🧐
  18. Thanks for filling in on the game thread.
  19. Was it at this point that the Rangers bunted yesterday?
  20. I think there are corresponding thought processes regarding hitting. Basically whether you favor a guy with high level contact/ good OBP or prefer the guy with power/ lessor OBP. Compounded by looking at body type and attempting to project a young frame a few years down the road. i would be interested in Micro’s take on that regarding the Tigers system, and possible comparison to other orgs. I realize one of the current offensive failures is lack of power, but am more thinking longer periods trends. G2 has commented on how difficult it is to project the ceiling for hitters-do the drop out at levels in the minors as the pitching gets better? Or look good until they make the bigs. Thoughts?
