  1. Or cherrypick the good, temporary results and ignore the rest.
  2. I doubt this would happen, but what if the Tigers decided to send down Tork, Keith and Meadows all at once? From a PR/fan perspective spread the attention with the focus on it being a temporary thing to get these young players on track. And the corresponding move? Activate Urshela, and bring up Malloy and Baddoo or Kennedy. OF is Greene/Vierling/Perez. DH is Carpenter/Malloy, Canha is 1B, Ibanez at 2B, Baez, Urshela at 3B. McK is the main IF sub, plus Kennedy if they brought him back up. Carpenter/Baddoo as the main OF subs, with Malloy another limited option. I think Hinch would prefer the extra IF over Baddoo. I don’t know whether that would work, and it could fail horribly I guess. I think they’d score more runs, maybe lots more, and not lose that much on defense. Ideally at least two of the three demoted guys gets it together in a month and we can have options for any of the replacements that don’t cut it.
  3. Ah, too slow on my part-Hong just copped to it.
  4. Yeah, but everybody looks great playing against the USC defense. 😎 (Admitting to getting the dig in on Hongbit and his hatred for Oregon 😉). But it’s also true.
  5. Franklin? Trice?
  6. If you want to DH Tork for a short spell but not play Cahna at 1B every day, Ibanez has played 1B 22 games in the last three years and is on the 40 man. He’s rehabing at Toledo now. Can play third too to get Vierling back into the OF if you want to sit Meadows a few days. Not a solution, but a possible temp plan.
  7. Oregon has a law that restricted noncompete clauses…unfortunately one of my past bosses paid big bucks to the local hotshot business law firm to craft a confidentiality clause that functioned in a similar way. Among other weasel power moves. 🤬
  8. Again: Benched = bullcrap. He injured his throwing hand and sat a game.
  9. Thanks for sharing the season here guys. As always, I appreciate the knowledge and videos posted. Let’s hope for the aforementioned lottery luck, a good off season and go get ‘em starting in the Fall.
  10. Both Zimmerman and Rittenhouse went out in the streets carrying guns. In Zimmerman’s case he clearly was looking for trouble. I do not give Rittenhouse the out of “protecting his community”. That’s too much an abdication of responsibility. I feel he was expecting confrontation, carried a weapon, and exercised very little self control. And people died as a result. Whether those people were “bad” is not very important to me. Rittenhouse pulled the trigger.
  11. Well @1776, you have stopped referring to “open borders”, but still use words like chaos in describing it. We all have our perspective, I I think the way you frame the issue clearly shows yours. No doubt the topic will factor in the election, we’ll see how much so.
  12. Well one of the medics have to check the GIs for STDs.
  13. Well there is a clear black and white distinction to be made in their cases.
  14. It has been shown that the Russian internet operatives were sowing discord in the US electorate years ago. Using social media to do things like promote and provoke protests -even purposely scheduling two protests at the same time and place to cause a confrontation. This is the goal. Make Americans fight amongst themselves. Create chaos. Amplify minor groups bad behaviors to make them seem to be a huge threat. Don’t take the bait.
  15. This is admittedly optimistic, I’ll say 86 wins. Should be enough to take the Central.
  16. Dude, stop shoveling.
  17. And the percentage of congress or mayors that say that is? Very small.
  18. No they haven’t. A small segment of “leftists” have, but as G2 points out assigning allegiance is complicated. Most people on all sides of the issue recognize that Hamas is terrible. Some of those also think Israel represses Palestinians and don’t like US tax dollars supplying bombs dropped on Gaza. It is possible to understand the problem Israel faces and also hope they can limit civilian casualties in fighting Hamas. There’s no easy answer and calling people names or assigning viewpoints to vaguely defined groups doesn’t do anything to fix problems. Sure, there are extremists that do defend Hamas, want to kill Biden, or other horrible things. But they are relatively few, hardly representative of the left.
  19. Or maybe being able to throw a bit harder (for fewer innings) and not facing a batter more than once is enough to elevate his effectiveness significantly. Failed starter.
  20. Jared Goff throws out the first pitch at a game, unleashing a 99mph four seamer with movement for a strike. And subsequently signs a contract with the Tigers, giving up football.
  21. I think this is an appropriate level of seriousness to apply to Eric’s “argument”:
  22. Still FOS, I see.
