  1. Yes, they were.
  2. The beatings will continue until morale improves.
  3. Kettle, meet Pot(us)
  4. And so many are eager to board that train. I know I’ve shared this Edith Sitwell quote before: I am patient with stupidity but not with those that are proud of it.
  5. You spelled Viña wrong. and yes, I am joking.
  6. After 2020 the big lie was “Stop the Steal”. The 2024 version is that he has a huge mandate from a landslide when he didn’t even win 50% of the votes. So many people willing to embrace lies.
  7. As others have mentioned the Bears, with Williams, their defense and a competent coach/front office can be a force in the conference at some point. But reading how many times Williams has been sacked this year, and seeing him take a hit on the Campbell play (and others) makes me wonder if he’s going to get so dinged up that he never reaches his full potential. Not wishing injury on him, just seeing how the current situation puts him in regular violent contact. The Bears are so stupid.
  8. Barf with chunks of pink popcorn in it. That’s a great image to hold on our (US) day of feasting. 😎
  9. But to Lee’s point are Hays or Carlson anything to get excited about?
  10. Not a fact.
  11. Your statement using the word “Clearly” and the words “without question..” are just your opinions, yet you present them as if they are known facts. Kind of like your dismissal of Harris as not a valid candidate. She got about 1.5% less votes than Trump. Your opinion of her validity says more to me about your prejudice than about her abilities.
  12. It’s nothing like science. Richest man in the world buys a platform and the first thing he does is fire people trained to keep posts from spreading lies. Sure, they may not have done that anywhere near perfectly. The new setup made spreading disinformation a promoted goal and a chance to throw huge piles of money at influencing an election. Musk has zero interest in a open exchange. Truth not valued at all.
  13. Yeah, can’t you be relentlessly upbeat, like Budda?
  14. I try to avoid Google as much as possible, mainly because their business model is to capture as much personal data on people for the purpose of advertising. Rob’s story underscores that concern. Any possible anti-trust action to limit big tech has probably gone for the next few years. 🙁
  15. I think Eric’s wife did and had some major problems afterwards. i know friends who got both with no issues. I decided to spread mine out, getting them 3 weeks apart.
  16. As someone who avoiding getting a Twitter account long ago, before Musk turned it into a propaganda tool, I am curious if getting a Bluesky account makes sense for me. As Hong noted, this forum allows me access to lots of tweets and now whatever the equivalent Bluesky content is. I don’t need or want lots of additional social media in my life. I assume there are user settings to keep from getting daily notifications and other crap. If I had an account but didn’t do much with it, is it worth it other than to show support for the people who don’t embrace fascism? Not that that isn’t of value.
  17. Right, plus Josue is the youngest on the list (at least the visible portion).
  18. To be fair, almost anyone standing next to Prince looks slim.
  19. Maybe Biden can send a message to Putin on his way out- advanced weapons permission to blow up the Kerch bridges.
  20. Thanks for the updates, much appreciated.
  21. I think the magnet thing is to set your cruise control and forget about the speed, once you’ve identified another car going at your preferred rate. Really only works with sparse traffic levels (probably more common out here in the West.
  22. My nephew has been volunteering in AZ for Harris and other Dems. He shared an internal meeting video where the speaker said Dems have knocked on 3 million doors nationwide this year. Most in swing states, obviously.
