  1. He did play some small amount of 1B when he was at Vanderbilt. **** it, give him a 1B glove and see what happens. Right now he is a dedicated DH
  2. i'm sure. i guess my surprise is that it (apparently) wasn't persuasive
  3. I hope he causes more bigger guys to consider baseball. It's surprising (at least to me) that at some point along the way, Judge wasn't pulled aside by some coach and told that his future was at defensive end.
  4. and after all that work baez was doing to strengthen his core
  5. Jack Flaherty for turkey on wheat with colby and mayo. now that's a deal i'm ready to make
  6. last year maeda was a 1.1 war pitcher and he got what, 2 years at $14M per? last year flaherty was about 0.8 war and got 1 year at $14M. if flaherty keeps it up, he might be a 4 war player. so probably over $22M per year, and could depend on length of contract
  7. I'm not totally writing him off. I was rooting for him, but I have suffered a profound loss of confidence that he is going to be able to do it. But if we're talking about an alternative, I think Colt is it. I could see Jung, too, tho.
  8. I think the possible future at 1B is Colt Keith
  9. it's hardly enough PA to reach any conclusions, but i think we can count on it
  10. Chad Durbin, 2007?
  11. I'm wondering if I would rather he'd fallen off his scooter
  12. In my ignorance, I thought this guy was pitching for Pittsburgh -- ergo my questions about where he was staying. Duh
  13. If you have a gambling problem, call 1-800-U-Bet-Now™
  14. I still see a lot of teams staying at the Townsend in Birmingham. I know some NBA teams stay at the Godfrey now.
  15. that dude probably rode a motorcycle with donuts for wheels to the park to throw a complete-game shutout
  16. seems like a bit of a risky way to get to the park on the day you pitch. also, i wonder where those guys stay that the scooter was a viable option
  17. Tork is not our regular 1B by the end of the season
  18. I'll join that chorus. Tork had a pitch to drive on the (I think) 3-0 pitch and he like check-swing foul-tipped. That made it 3-1 and he was done.
  19. Clark would've had a triple if he weren't wearing those shoes
  20. The Tigers play suggests that after the whippings the past couple nights, they are ready to GTFO of KC
  21. Mickey Tettleton Appreciation Society Foot Loops dinner at 6
  22. There's a snakes/fish joke in here somewhere
