    I’d give this post 10 likes if I could. Daniss was a nice story for a bit but he’s a liability as a backup PG.

    Maybe it’s possible that this landscape changing arbitration victory would be enough for Boras & Skubal. They have more than done their part looking out for the players in the union and making their future better. Could they now be more open to the possibility of signing a long term deal and foregoing free agency? It would still be the largest deal ever for a pitcher. One can hope.

    I wouldn’t mind seeing them release Daniss today and sign Lonzo Ball (if healthy). He can’t shoot either but he’s a better backup PG option.

    I wonder how long they have been sitting on this deal. It wasn’t coincidence that it was announced shortly after the arbitration hearing ended. I’m sure it would’ve come up in Skubal’s argument had the Tigers done this prior.

    My thoughts are all financial and lack of trust in Chris. The uncertainty of the new TV deal along with a potential lockout looming has me doubting that he’s going to significantly increased payroll this season. I hope that I’m wrong and this is the new Chris.

    Good points but I don’t think the Dodgers care about $13M either way.

    I am expecting them to trade Skubal before pitchers and catchers report next week.

    They need to get a nice cushion and solidify the top seed early so they can rest Cade a bit before the playoffs. He’s going to have to play 45 minutes a game if they make it to the later rounds. God help them if he ever happens to get in foul trouble. Or they could make a move for a secondary scorer and also a real backup PG

    In addition to the shooting and secondary scoring issues, there’s also one at backup PG. We have nobody that can distribute and get looks for their teammates.

    Hmm. Maybe there is a 4th part to this deal that will make it all make sense. The Bulls still want to part with Ayo and White. Please be Brooklyn or New Orleans!!!

    I actually like this move if they end up trading Huerter again before the deadline in another deal. Hopefully the expiring contract has some value in it as part of a package for a larger prize. If they plan on keeping Huerter othen I’m not a fan of the deal.

    Probably am underestimating Edvinsson’s ceiling a bit. I don’t think the contract is that big of a deal since absolute worst case he helps you for two years of a serious cup run. I also believe they would be able to sign him. Nobody has any idea what the brothers intentions are but I can tell you that if NJ miss the playoffs this year and next, there may be no Hughes brothers still on the team for Quinn to want to play with. I’m not going to keep beating a dead horse. It is what it is. I’ll move on from the Hughes vs. Simon debate.

    Never ever said that. Edvinsson is really good now and going to be great. I think Stevie made a mistake valuing him over Hughes who is a generational defenseman (and much, much better defender than you give him credit).

    Hughes had 3A including both 3rd period game tying goal and OT winner. That’s his 5th 3 apple game in just 25 with the Wild. He also became the 3rd fastest D in history to hit 400 trailing only Orr and Coffey.

    Herro is a Wisconsin native. They may try to keep him around as a centerpiece to try and fleece the fans into believing there’s a reason to show up at games.

    I agree completely and hope that I’m proven wrong. I’m tired of all the GM’s in town afraid to make a big deadline move because they overvalue their current roster.

    I like Vit. Don’t think he’s a star but guy can shoot the lights out. He needs more minutes which he wasn’t getting the ATL.
