  1. Celebrini turned out to be under hyped and he was the consensus #1 player in his class.
  2. Levshunov would’ve already been run out of town even though he’s still not old enough to drink.
  3. Waiting until after the last home game to announce the end. Fitting end for a guy that never wanted any part of the spotlight.
  4. 8 years isn’t 10. They’ve done a much better job of acquiring future draft assets during their stretch of ****itude than the Wings. 8 first rounders the last 3 years and they have 4 more coming in the next 2 years. They also have 5 second rounders too. Even a blind squirrel has to hit on a few of these.
  5. This is a great way to ensure you don’t have a 10 year rebuild. Must be nice. I do have to give Chicago credit for not trading their lottery pick for a 34 year old defenseman.
  6. Here’s a random guys idea. Think both teams would welcome the switch.
  7. Borom can start at RT next season. He’s very capable of being at least league average at the position. I’m more concerned about Mahogany at LG. He had a few nice games 2 years ago. He was not good last year. He’s always going to be an injury concern too. I’m not sure I feel any better with Frazier or Bartch in that spot either. That’s why Ioane is intriguing. I’d have far less concerns fitting him in at RG next to Sewell at day 1 than I would a new rookie RT. That would create a very strong line with solid depth everywhere except RT which they can address later in the draft.
  8. Had anyone looked up Mo Mantha’s numbers in Pittsburgh this season. Hockey is weird. Kenny also made a few very good deals this season to put the Kings on the cusp of the playoffs despite having the 2nd fewest regulation wins in the league and also get a few extra draft picks while doing it.
  9. Watch this be the year the Wings card finally moves up.
  10. They can buyout Compher and save $3m against the cap the next 2 years. More importantly, he won’t be playing for them anymore.
  11. Probably time to put old Ken Kal out to pasture as well. His words just aren’t getting it done anymore. 10 years of the same taglines and catchphrases obviously haven’t been good enough.
  12. The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
  13. Highlights from Augustine’s debut last night. Looks like GR was not very good in front of him. Had to make a number of massive saves to avoid a 6 goal thrashing.
  14. About those Max Clark posts
  15. It’s truly amazing they employ 3 guys as hitting coaches yet they miss so many middle, middle mistake fastballs. It happened all last year too.
  16. Lots of speculation with almost none of it having him stay at Red Bull. Are they allowed to give him an ownership stake in the team? That may be the only way to keep him
  17. 100% agree the players aren’t good enough but I think it would quicker and easier to get back to respectability with a different system.
  18. I think they need a change of philosophy. They need to get back to a dump-chase-cycle system. They are too reliant on trying to use speed and skill to get in the zone. It can also reward effort and it’s easier to acquire effort players to fill you bottom 6 than it does skilled guys that can bring it in the zone themselves. Along the same lines, they also need to develop some type of checking line that is tough for another teams top lines. The kind of guys that make them think twice when going in the corner for the puck. They also need better presence in front of the net. They need more size and toughness and a little less skill.
  19. You aren’t wrong to make the assumption. A quick glance at the schedule and it looks like this one of only two Mon-Thu series all season long. The other is next month against Cleveland.
  20. It’s not getaway day. This is a seemingly rare Monday- Thursday 4 game set. Tomorrow is a 1:40 start.
  21. Un****ignbelievable but yet so believable
  22. 0% - This is just another scam to manipulate the markets for profit.
  23. They also need to be regulation wins. They can’t afford to give a free point to either CBJ or Philly
  24. Go take a look at the IG pages of Yaxel and Jeremy Fears at MSU. This is how NIL is supposed to work. Most of the posts are paid ads from large companies. Actual branding that is used to effectively market directly to kids of their generation. It’s not just free money handed out for nothing. It’s actual paid work that has value. Unfortunately, this doesn’t come close to solving the real issue which is there is no honor among thieves. Schools and their boosters are always looking for an edge and will continue to illegally use money to gain an advantage. The NCAA has tried to play ball and given every school $20M to legally pay players and that’s still not nearly enough. I don’t have the answers and I’m not sure they exist but they need to figure how to create penalties with some teeth in them.
