You are probably right that I’m foolishly expecting Chris to hold his GM responsible for results like what happens in 95% of pro sports organizations.
-
An absolutely awful GM is the one deciding.
-
Yzerman won’t even have one more full season here if the only return for Larkin is a $8.7M cap hit.
-
I don’t think they need a 3rd team. You may not like it but Wallstedt along with 2 recent 1st rounders in Stramel and Yurov would probably entice Stevie.
-
It doesn’t matter who’s paying it out, it’s still 5M of wasted NIL money that could’ve been spent on other players. TT (and their benefactor) need to cut bait on this guy as soon as possible.
-
This is so F1. What a complete mess (same goes for Red Bull).
-
They would still have to pay him the $5M

Cossa to Edmonton rumors are starting to get very strong.

There are still a few very important things that we don’t know. This request seemed to come out of nowhere. Did Stevie tell Dylan they were removing his C? If so, that changes things. He signed the contract to be the Captain. Removing it only makes him look like the scapegoat to their losing seasons as if his leadership was the problem. It changes a big part of the cause of the story. The other part is the 3 team list. Does that represent a preferred list where a trade can be made without having to ask him. Is he open to other locations but would need to run it by him first and he could refuse. Or is this an FU, I hold all the cards move. It’s not uncommon for an athlete to have this set up in a no movement clause. This seems like an important nuance that could be easily missed or ignored in the reporting of the story. I have no idea if either of these things happened or not. It’s possible they didn’t and Larkin is being a soft diva bitch. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until more information surfaces.
-
Sucks they can’t just trade him to Edmonton. That would be the ultimate fu.
-
I agree but that won’t stop him from trying.
-
I don’t see Dylan being able to keep his mouth shut while public opinion goes scorched earth on him. I give him less than 2 weeks before he’s on Brad Galli’s new YouTube show sharing his thoughts about Stevie and the Yzerplan.
-
The time is now to win group and then win twice and make it to the final 8. They have the best player they’ve ever had, they are on home soil, and Walker Zimmerman doesn’t play anymore.
-
Crazy that Texas Tech still plans on paying this guy $5M for next year. The injunction says he has to be made eligible but it doesn’t force the school to play him in games. That’s a coaching decision. The NCAA needs to pass a bylaw that any team that knowingly played with an ineligible player is out of the playoff for 3 years and loses substantial NIL money. Nobody would take that risk.
-
There’s no need to bluff. Dylan holds the cards. He’s got enough money to sit out the season if he wants. Steve is on the hot seat. He needs to win right now. He needs to be adding quality bodies and not losing them. It’s more heat if he lets this drag into the season with Larkin holding out. Stevie has to fold and trade him before the season.
-
Nobody has any idea if the 3 teams named are the only teams he’d consider or the only teams he’d automatically waive the NTC. It’s very possible that he’s open to other teams but on a case by case basis.
-
Thats your fan emotions getting the best of you. How would this help the Wings in any way? I can’t really think of a dumber idea. Pay one of your best players not to play, have him take up cap space and don’t use his trade value to acquire a quality player(s) that want be here.
-
Just when you thought the worst circuit on the schedule couldn’t get any worse.
-
I don’t see any way that Larkin goes to Vancouver. I doubt that he’s accept St. Louis either. He’s going to want a team that is playoff ready or close enough and has some of his buddies on it.
-
I like the possibility of trading him to NJ for Hischier. That’s a pretty even trade based on skill and Nico’s younger age. The market demand would probably get them to throw in a semi decent prospect too. Larkin will definitely waive the NTC to get with Jack and then make a run at Quinn the next year. Wings get a solid 1C that’s a few years younger than Larkin and will be super motivated in a new sweater after a pretty average year in 2025.
-
Maybe this is all as simple as Stevie telling him they are going in a different leadership direction and pulling the C. I would get Larkin saying FU then trade me. It’s a no win for him on a team like this one that hasn’t been to the playoffs in forever. He can play his ass of next year and even have his best year ever but if they make the playoffs everyone will say his leadership was the problem all along. Tough spot to be in.
-
Larkin is doing Stevie a big favor but I’m not sure he’s smart enough to realize it. This team needs a big shakeup and also a change of Captain. They can do both with one move.
-
It would be so on point for the Knicks to lose the next four in a row.

82-0.com This browser game has gone viral in the last week. It’s kind of stupid in how they balance the stats to make a team but it’s strangely addictive. This is the closest I’ve come so far to 82-0.
