    As of this moment, it was not the correct move. That could change but that’s relying on hope versus the reality of what just happened. I’m not sure why it’s more likely that he returns to that player than it is that he’s older, more injured and less productive player.

    It also may end up to be a terrible move to sign Hutch to that deal too. He wasn’t the same guy last year. I think he will be ok but time will tell if that is another move that Brad didn’t get right. Great GM’s are the ones that end up with the right result at the end of the deal versus being lauded for making what seemed like the right move at the time when it was signed.

    They could have done lots of things. Signing McNeill to that large extension was not a great move.

    I agree with all that is said but sadly there’s a better chance of winning Powerball and then being hit by lightning twice on the way to pick up the money than there is of the Pistons not giving Duren the huge contract. It’s just a matter of how much they give him.

    Yes, they probably should’ve let McNeil walk. They definitely shouldn’t have extended him when they did. Philly continues to make major improvements every year and focus mainly on how they can get to a Super Bowl right now rather than worrying about the future. It very well may bite them in the ass in 5 years but they are likely to have even more NFC championships by then.

    Philly once again figures out how to make an expensive move despite already leading the league in future void money by a wide margin. I keep being told that the Lions have to be mindful of the cap and need to be more conservative. I don’t get how Philly is able to make things happen for today while the Lions are handcuffed.

    I had not seen this report. The last I heard was the one that was posted here a few days back saying some teams felt he’d need another surgery to fix something that hadn’t healed right with the first.

    I would’ve preferred other players and don’t believe they needed to trade up but I don’t hate the Moore pick. He fills a need and I have my fingers crossed he’s not the new Levi or Paschal.

    Zion Young was rated higher on every board or mock that I saw. The only exception would be those that took him off for the DUI which we know was not the case for the Ravens.

    Interesting thought on NIL weakening the draft pool significantly starting on round 4.

    Minter is a first time head coach in his very first draft. Eric DeCosta has 30 years in NFL player personnel. DeCosta is making the call on the pick and can’t see Minter being Moore’s DC 3 years ago as any significant factor.

    Such a dumb defensive philosophy to value edge setting run defense over pass rush skills. This is a QB league and getting pressure on him is essential to a good defense.

    I don’t get the trade up for that player. Nobody else was taking him that early above the over available DE.
