  1. Designated Post June Cut as it’s a lot of cap savings. He didn’t play enough snaps per game or effective enough in the ones he did play to warrant the huge salary necessary. That money could be spent on 2 DTs or resign Levi.
  2. No, my reading of it is they have to be hired as a head coach or general manager. But I am not 100 percent sure on that.
  3. We were always going to lose a good portion of our coaching staff this offseason. You can’t have as much sustained success over a couple years and that not happen. Also Glenn and Johnson are going to want to take atleast 1 or 2 assistants with them. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this was talked about with Campbell and Holmes before hand as they both seem like managers who want their employees to have success and will help them get there. With that said with openings come opportunities. We have the talented roster and leadership that top young and experienced coaching talent is going to want to be apart of. I have no doubt we will be able to recruit a top notch coaching staff. There will be growing pains as they all adjust to one another and the players. Because of that on top of a tough looking road schedule I expect a step back in record next season. I still expect playoffs but would not be surprised to see us fighting for the wildcard and/or division until the last week.
  4. Not necessarily. Just seems like Dan likes having a Vet backup and frankly he’s not much younger than Goff if you’re grooming him. We also could go for some draft capital.
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of if Johnson went to the Raiders. Maybe Cleveland who could use a cheap QB?
  6. I think it’s more about the mental makeup and the comfort of having a vet in that role at that time for this coaching staff. I don’t think you can call Hooker a bust but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him traded for a low round pick and vet brought in as a backup instead. Maybe he goes to where Ben Johnson ends up as someone who knows his offense not necessarily as the starter either.
  7. My List for the offseason- 1) Get our Coordinators figured out quickly as I think we lose both them- I think a promotion from within for OC (Tanner Engstrand) makes a lot of sense. I'd like to see us go outside the house for a DC and I'm thinking someone who comes from a staff or a past coordinator with success on containing mobile QBs. 2) Long term extension for Hutchinson and Joseph and pick up 5th year option on Williams. 3) Franchise Tag Davis- I think the long term plan is for one of Arnold and Rakestraw to take over that number 1 CB and possible 2 but we didn't see that yet. However we have cap space this year but then need to get cheaper in future years so Davis for one year even on an overpay should not hurt us long term. 4) Try and Resign- Zietler (I think he returns for a similar deal if he doesn't retire). Barnes, Onwuzurike, Patrick and Melifonwu (this quartet are very good depth players who can start and because of that we may get price out). Other depth pieces as well can and should be brought back. 5) Free Agency- Pass rush- I like Mack as a potential one year fit here but there are other options. Interior DL- We are going to missing McNeil for a good portion of the season so I would like to see us go after a 1 or 2 year DT to fill that need. Fill in other depth pieces for players missed out on resigning. We are in really good shape and should mainly focus on keeping team intact and maintain good cap situation for future extensions. Build future replacement starters through the draft. 6) Draft- Target DL help early, specifically pass rushing from outside or interior as we need both. Focus on OL depth pieces to eventually replace aging or less effective vets. Maybe try and grab a high upside WR that falls in the later rounds. You always need to add secondary and Linebacker pieces in my opinion as they serve as good special teams players as well. These are my early thoughts anyway. What are yours?
  8. Yes we did. Did I think it would be 45 points no. But I was prepared for them to score 30+. A lot of people were talking about how we’d have to out score teams and hope for just a couple stops. I think us and Vegas just were pretty confident that would happen against Washington but clearly we were wrong.
  9. Sure, but I really don’t put the blame on him only. Let’s be honest we knew the defense was not going to get many stops. We obviously were hoping for maybe a couple 4th down stops and a turnover. But what we didn’t get was a clean game on offense. I did not like the blitzing game plan tonight but I also don’t think it would’ve been the plan with better health.
  10. I don't think anyone is hiring Glenn because hes a great DC. I think hes on people radar because of his leadership of men. So I doubt this game changes anyone's minds. I think we lose both coordinators if they want the jobs their offered.
  11. Sure but at the end of the day we stopped them twice all game. the pick 6 hurt because it was like giving them an extra possession. We had 4 turnovers that stopped drives and gave back points and an additional punt. Goff played his 2nd worst game of the season.
  12. Assuming Glenn gets a head coaching job I am looking for a defensive coordinator that has experience against running QBs.
  13. We looked like crap coming out against the Bills when we had a long break between games.
  14. Ok that was stupid.....no need for that as we are haven't trouble moving the ball in chunks. Compounded by putting a player in a situation to make a decision he doesn't normally have to make.
  15. I am usually a big defender of not all issues or bad plays are the coaches fault. 12 men on the field is definitely a coaching error that was inexcusable.
  16. To think injuries are not a major factor for this is just wrong. Of course its not the whole story but it is the main part.
  17. Reminds me of the Bills game. Just no answers to what the opponent is doing offensively.
  18. Yes don't bother blaming the guy who actually fumbled? I'm not saying the call couldnt have been better but I do believe they were treating it as 4th down.
  19. Could be but usually scripts are about 10-20 plays depending on the coach, series doesn't matter. Your trying to get a read on the defense verse different shifts and alignments so that you can dictate what you want to do afterward. Not saying that was case but its what it looked like to be based on the weird formation.
  20. I agree here, not running with a whole lot of confidence so far
  21. Remember they are still on script cause they haven't played a ton of snaps so far. Also I believe the decision was already made to go for it on 4th down so i believe they were going for a chunk play.
  22. Field Goals attempts for the other team is going to be a win for us all postseason. Not going to be a lot of stops resulting in punts i don't think. Hope you get 1 or 2 turnovers a game.
  23. Only for minorities. How I read it is if for example Glenn gets hired we would get a 3rd pick at the end of each of the next 2 drafts. Let’s say Glenn gets an HC job and Agnew got a GM job we would get 1 3rd pick for the next 3 drafts.
  24. It’s funny most of the “experts” are predicting a one score game with the Lions only scoring around 30. We averaged for the year over 33. I look at the matchup against their defense and don’t see the likelihood of them holding us under our average. I am actually predicting somewhere around a 37-27 type of game. Will be close for a while but eventually we get a couple stops in the second half.
  25. This and honestly for some pass blocking. Limit the blows that Gibbs has to take and he excels at picking up blitzes. they can tell Me all they want that Montgomery is good to go but there is no way that knee is 100% and would not be shocked at all if after the season he has a small procedure to clean it up.
