Week Fifteen: Buffalo Bills (10-3) @ Detroit Lions (12-1)

When Melifonwu is healthy I wonder if we kick Robertson outside to CB and move branch to slot. -

Honestly it doesn’t matter where we finish and only matters what our health looks like. Our 2 losses are both at home so I think we can still win from a lower seed. I believe we are the best team in the NFL but right now we aren’t even remotely healthy which probably puts us in the top 10 barely. -
I don’t disagree but it is a factor and my guess is that it would be a consideration. So if you think he’s going to be one of your top 4 starters by the middle/end of the year. Then imo he might as well learn in the big leagues. if you don’t think that will be the case because he’s still green and you can hold off until September again then sure let him get the innings in the minors. To me his stuff plays now in the majors and pitchers only have so many innings in three arms. I’m taking him north even if it’s out mid the bullpen to start. With the condensed minor leagues now there is a huge talent gap between AAA and the majors that I don’t think it’s as good of a place to get ready anymore.

If Jobe is going to be on the team at all this year then he’s going to start in Detroit. The potential draft compensation for rookie of the year is a big deal for smaller/mid market teams to compete. Now he might start in the pen to limit innings early on and let him learn big league hitters. Or they might skip a bunch of starts to do that which also means they need more cheap veteran depth.

I’m not done with him and would be happy to keep him. However, For me he is an attractive trade chip that we can part with as his lefty hitting and more second base profile is already on the roster.

Week Fourteen: Green Bay Packers (9-3) @ Detroit Lions (11-1)

We should have the leg up on tie breakers with them now because of common opponents, sos and sov. Philly needs us to probably lose twice and them win out. I think that is what I read earlier anyway. -

I get why they went for it. Honestly if we were healthier on defense i think he punts. Trying to shorten the game as much as possible with the offense. -

Because he is pressing trying to make up for prior mistakes and he needs to calm down. -

I'm just happy he blamed a player for once. -

Yep clunker games happen in the NFL but this one does show a tendency on how to play against us. -

Laporta didn't block anyone. Got caught up between as his guy went up field wide so he should've climbed to second level and that is who blew up the play. -

Honestly Goff is just pressing and looks even worse then he did against Tampa earlier in the year. You can't win with this type of QB play. -

I get why your upset and I don't like that choice either because what happened could happen. However, they were doing nothing offensively and honestly probably felt like getting to halftime only down 9 was lucky with how they played. Unfortunately they couldn't even get out of half properly. They have no ability to slow down the pass rush or open up passing lanes and they are not allowing Goff to make easy decisions. It honestly has been a masterclass of defense so far against our offense. Defensively we've honestly done alright outside of 1st and last drive of the half with giving up some chunk plays. -

Goff has no clue what is going on in front of him right now. -

Texans look like they got extra time to prepare for this game so far. -
I agree with you but with a different prospect. I think it’s Briceno that’s more likely to man first base out of current prospects. Liranzo has some tools to work with so I’d imagine they keep working on that with him for the time being.

Week Seven: Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Minnesota Vikings (5-0)

Sure, unless it works. Or maybe 2 penalties on the 1st 3 plays set back the offense from running the plays they wanted to. On defense I’m sure Glenn didn’t tell the end defender to bite across the field. its ok to blame the player as well for poor play. -

Why is it always coaching with you? Can players not make mistakes. That’s simply the laziest take ever and it’s all you ever do. -
I don’t think there is anyway short of looking terrible in spring training that Jobe will be in the Minors. He’s going to be up at some point anyway and they want the ability to get a draft pick. I think he’ll start as the 5th starter with a pitch/inning limit per start and will get extra schedule days off to limit workload.
-
I get what you are saying. I don’t want Carpenters glove in the outfield. Not just because he’s a below average fielder but because I want to keep him healthy which he hasn’t done, so he’s my primary DH. So that’s put Vierling as the starter in RF for me. Bregman is who I want at 3rd or to trade some package of players/prospects to get someone that plays good defense and has a good bat there. I think Jung/Manning plus more package could be very intriguing for someone trying to rebuild.

I would think that the league and Fox vetted through all of this with Brady and there was a specific rules of engagement laid out for while he is calling games. If not then Brady decided he didn’t want to be a broadcaster any longer and he will be stepping away. My guess is we will get an answer to that from Fox in the near future.
-
I'm not sure that true but you may be right. They've got others to resign and might not want to commit the resources to Bregman.
-
Something like this is what I would look at... Offense- - Try and sign Bregman 3 years with an option for a 4th to play 3rd Base. - Vierling Plays Right Field and backups CF. - Carpenter hasn't stayed healthy and hes poor in the field so he goes to DH for the majority of his at bats short of when we need to rest other players and against lefties. - Jung is trade bait potentially or told to pick up a 1st baseman glove and be the sub for the corner infield. - Sweeney to start at SS, you either platoon Baez or cut him. If hes on the roster then there isn't a spot for McKinstry. - Rogers and Dingler to share Catching duty. Sign a vet for Toledo. Pitching- - Sign a number 2- Would love Flaherty but doubt it. Maybe Bieber on a 2 year deal? - Sign another late innings bullpen arm - Cut Maeda - Bring in a coupe vet arms for Toledo - Jobe starts in Detroits with the plan he is there all year.

Me to, wish he could play better defense but even as a pinch hitter part time player he can help balance the left sided offense we have. -

I agree and honestly Malloy has had some really good at bats this post season. That one included.
