Give Twitter enough time, let's say by tomorrow especially if this makes national news, and you'll see it. My thoughts remain the same. I'm not calling for people to purposely run people over, but i'm willing to look the other direction if it does happen.

If he would have simply said he removed his mask for a quick picture, that's one thing. But c'mon, "I held my breath". I guarantee you that if there was a live camera on his communications director when they heard about that response it could have been posted on /r/watchpeopledieinside. Can we get this disinformation post removed from this site? This is dangerous and could lead to people choosing not to get vaccinated. If the moderators refuse than Archie is leaving this platform and will require MWG to remove all posts as well.

To note, 1000 vaccinated adults will spread less virus than a mix of 1000 adults of mixed status for the reasons you state. Children have shown not to be affected like adults with this disease, resulting in more asymptomatic cases and overall less duration for them too. That is something that the anti-mask for school kids point out that gets screamed over with stats that are focused on adults. If your argument is that they should be masked up, as should all adults regardless of status, that's at least consistent. But this is the comment that struck a nerve with me, "Going to a restaurant is not needed to survive". To that restaurant, wiping out 30 percent of the population that can even go to them, might be needed for them to survive.

No, he's saying you can look at China's issues separately and judge them on their own merits. One can be good, despite something else being bad. All that said, I contend that if the US flipped the Obesity rate with China or Canada, and nothing else changes, those other countries have more Covid deaths (per capita) than the US.

My brother's facility can get fined if their staff are wearing a non-fitted N95 mask which they do for staff that has to work with Covid patients. But if you don't work in that area and want to wear an N95, nope, take it off and wear the surgical mask. They finally got it in writing that staff can wear a non-fitted kn95 or n95 if they wear a surgical mask over it. But hey, walk into a restaurant with a cloth mask and take it off as soon as you sit down and all is good. Or watch the biggest stars that are screaming about Rogan on their twitter feed when they are at the Superbowl next week. They'll proudly wear their masks as they walk in, only to be maskless the whole game because they have a bowl of popcorn in front of them that they are occasionally eating. That's always the case with both parties, and yes, it's asinine. They lean towards a certain way of doing something until they realize it doesn't work for one specific thing they want to do. I complained about Whitmer late in 2020 when she spent the beginning saying she couldn't leave it up to the localities and had to have statewide lockdowns and restrictions. Eventually changes that to zones after the realization of the damage it did to areas that weren't having trouble and by the end of 2020 she was lying, stating she had no power to enact any restrictions at the state level and letting the localities deal with it. I'm not sure what you saw in Buddha's post that you felt was wrong. He's not saying vaccinations are bad. He's simply stating that at this point, we know you can still be vaccinated and spread it. I didn't see anything from him indicating that vaccines don't protect you from the virus.

She unfortunately has other health concerns, so it's even more important for her to be vaxxed. Going forward though, she won't be getting vaccinated for multiple things on the same day. We'll just space them out and her doctors believe that will be fine.
-
Again, why? It's the left that is more overprotective right now, but isn't it the left that follows science as well? If so, wouldn't they know that in children, the flu is actually worse than Covid?

Her Docs say it's very rare and even than, a severe form of it is rarer yet. My wife is just special like that, lol.

I don't even know if you can blame it on his incompetence. There are just too many safeguards in place to allow him to do what he tried to do. Obviously that leads to the concern about what did he learn about those safeguards and what will he do next time.

No one knows how long to wait. I posted before about this after trying to find a bunch of resources and found anywhere from 9 days to 90 days being recommended. Apparently any research into this question could lead unvaccinated people into deciding not to get vaccinated as well. So obviously it's not worth investigating. Meanwhile i'm on week 5 of my fully vaccinated wife being on 'sedation' levels of hydroxyzine, along with other medication because of her reaction to the covid booster and flu shot at the same time. The doctors specifically stated that she may have had Covid just prior to the vaccinations which may have played a part into putting her immune system into overdrive.

We weren't close to a coup, but it was definitely a coup attempt.

On the Spotify/Neil Young thing, I don't want to get political, so i'll keep it quick. I'm glad he's directing people away from long form interviews like Joe Rogan and over to Amazon for his music. Amazon is the epitome of American greatness and everything I think of when I listen to Neil Young lyrics. There is a part of me that is a little upset that he's fine with having his music on a platform that is cool with Chris Brown and R. Kelly, but then I think about it, and what old school rocker hasn't nailed an underage girl or beat the crap out of a girlfriend. Need to take into account his age and give him a pass.

My kids would play Post Malone and he was one of the best of what they listen to. That's not high praise. As he's done some covers, I'm not sure if he just loves experimenting or if this is a targeted marketing ploy to open me up to him more, but I will say this, I will pay attention to his next album.

I can understand the unhappiness towards the right in regards to the vaccination and Covid as a whole. I've been vocal on this site about how much that sucks, but why are you worried about being around unvaccinated people? You are vaccinated, right? At this point, a person that is unvaccinated it mostly just a risk to themselves and almost a null risk against vaccinated people.

This is the type of nitpicking that I believe doesn't score points for the left like many of you think it does. Those opposed to Lockdowns complained that the effects would last for years. They were not wrong. (Note - I'm not personally arguing that the Lockdowns were wrong, simply that there were costs from it that continue to last) I'm in northern Macomb county, Trump country if you will. Both my kids have assigned seats at lunch and aren't allowed to intermingle. Will they manage to survive, pretty sure they will, but at this point, there is no reason for it. Luckily my kids are in school, Detroit just went back to school after another month of virtual schooling. I saw that they were getting under 60% attendance. Flint schools are still virtual, despite the evidence how detrimental that has been for kids. Is Biden or Whitmer forcing schools to be virtual, no, but it's been the left's overcautious viewpoint and refusal of reviewing new data that certainly isn't doing anything helpful in regards to the situation. Studies are coming out showing kids are facing some of the largest depression numbers ever. Kids aren't handling this well and don't care if about an argument if the GOP should be saying 'restrictions' and 'long term affects from lockdowns' instead of just lockdowns. The fact that the GOP is the one pointing out is odd to me, but it's a weird political world.

Are we sure it's not just a guy in a similar looking Toyota Camry coming home to his family from a long day at work? Seriously though, sounds like we got a bad guy. Sucks he put women and children around him regardless if it was his own doing or something we did to get him.

I was having fun and going way to far, much further than you proposed, but did so based on how you worded it. Obviously you were talking about EC, but you worded it in a way that I could see people arguing against voting for a rep or senator from a district/state which always votes one way.
-
With this logic, we shouldn't stop at EC. All votes for all State and Federal elections are cast out and only one person is sent to represent everyone. We have the technology, popular vote for everything. Maybe we elect an Ombudsman that determines the next issue we vote on. Than there is a 24 hour period when you log into an app and vote. Even that still doesn't seem to work, let'sdig into that. Should abortion be legal within the United States? Let's say we get 190,000,000 votes (better voter turnout due to ease of voting) 112,100,000 - yes 77,900,000 no The ~78 million that voted no, those votes are just wasted. Let's look at the yes votes, only the first 95,000,001 votes mattered, so another 17,099,999 for a total of 94,999,999 wasted votes. 49.9% of the population would have a wasted vote in every vote. Ok, so this, everyone has to vote. In the above example, if you voted yes, you can have an abortion, if no, you're not allowed to. That way everyone is equally represented.
-
Solid points. You very well may be correct, at best I think we can all agree on that the EC has issues. If determined that the EC as we know it has to go, I guess I would like to see other solutions offered up rather than just a popular vote election to try and correct some of that misrepresentation without negating some of the virtues of it.
-
I'd be fine with a change in the EC rules that says instead of just over 270 to win, if you get 51 EC's or more (the total for all those states) and managed to win each of those mentioned, you win automatically.
-
Yeah, I meant they would focus on the coasts (populated portions), not that they would never visit elsewhere. There would be stops in Texas as they go back and forth. Iowa, New Hamshire, Vermont, Wyoming, both Dakota's, Rhode Island, Delware, Kansas, Montana, Idaho, Maine, West Virginia, those guys can stfu and just accept the president California, Texas, Florida, and New York elect for them.
-
Absolutely he would. Both parties would campaign on the coasts and just say enough to try and grab votes for those states in between creating a different problem. I'm not saying the EC is perfect, I'm just saying I don't think it's as clear cut as most of you seem to think it is in terms of just getting rid of it.
-
After the fact, that's absolutely true. But going into it, you never know (to a point). There are absolutely states that aren't changing who they pick anytime soon. Georgia and Arizona went Dem this year which isn't what I would have expected. Many feel Texas may change some time in the near future as well. Not being able to win an EC vote would eventually lead to a change in a losing party as well, meaning a changing party would look at aspect that a majority of people agree with.

Instead of only have a choice between Russia and China, what about a system that helps ensure different parts of a country have a role in determining who is president and helps ensure that the minority isn't overrun by the majority (USA).
