  1. Best thing that could happen to help ensure Trump doesn't win in 2024.
  2. ...and move us closer to class warfare.
  3. Absolutely, definitely the greatest threat, I mean, after: Trump The backboneless GOP Political instability due to class structures Political instability due to racial division Facebook / Social Media Monopolies Terrorism China / Foreign countries Drug Cartels Weather People that choose cats over dogs ....
  4. Most of the folks in the center don't actually pay that much to politics. They don't like Trump, but they don't really trust dems a whole lot either. They care about what is effecting them right now. So if inflation is still an issue, or they are getting tired of getting out of work late and not being able to find a fast food restaurant that is still open like they used to be to grab some food because they just want to get home and eat, they may not care that all the intellectuals say a vote for Trump say it would lead to the end of the US as they know it. Because to them, those are the same intellectuals telling them there is no inflation, the jobs market is the best ever, and the world is sunshine and roses if they just keep on voting in those dems.
  5. Exactly! Now if only the dems (aka, our only hope) can take a look at history and realize whoever wins the center, wins the election.
  6. Manchin made it clear what he'd do, it's not like he keeps moving the stick. So yes, they lost on BBB b/c they kept pushing for more and now the story is that Biden/dems have failed, where they could be touting a huge victory in infrastructure and saved face and had a minor victory in a smaller BBB.
  7. Build Back Better is beyond a failure, it's been disastrous to this point. It could change though, so that's about the only defense there is. If you told me that 1 year into Biden's presidency we'd: 1) Be out of Afghanistan 2) Have 5 years old and up eligible for the Covid vaccine and easy access to it, along with a current strain that is already showing what history shows in similar events (but sometimes many more years in developing), a form that isn't as severe. 3) An infrastructure bill. Yes, infrastructure and no, this isn't fantasyland. Instead of being able to celebrate and tout this incredible achievement, the dems decided to move to fantasyland and instead of pushing through a BBB package that Manchin would sign, they have turned on him (and Sinema), and are trying any means necessary (voting rights now) to beat those two up, not get anything further accomplished, and put dark clouds over the actual achievements that have been already done.
  8. Yup, he doesn't get nominated without Clyburn. I have some issues with publicly stating what might have been a promise made behind the scenes, but maybe that was a requirement as well. I do think this is different from Reagan who simply said it's time for women to be on the highest court and more balance needs to be seen in the federal courts. O'Connor then looks like Reagan's best pick that happens to be a women which he stated he was open too. Whoever Biden nominates, to a good portion of the population, is not going to look like the best candidate, but the best black female candidate. In the end, her vote will count the same, and because of politics, most of that same crowd isn't going to like her anyway. So it probably doesn't matter anyway.
  9. I heard a report that China has asked Russia to not overshadow the Olympics, which means if it is going to happen, it's going to happen any second now with the idea that Russia thinks they roll in without any/much fighting and we don't respond and the Olympics take away any international coverage or it happens on 2/21.
  10. I'm not making a claim who is or isn't right in regards to Ukraine, but it is odd that the traditional war hawks and dems seem to be aligned right now.
  11. Everything you said up until this statement was correct, with the caveat that it wasn't just Burisma. Shokin was doing this to everyone he could, Burisma was just one of the many. The message the US and other western allies sent was not an issue, who sent it was. Biden had no business being involved. I'm not sure what you do for a living, but today you arrive to work to learn your boss, who you know hasn't been the most ethical person, has just been fired and you're given his position. They tell you that you're trustworthy and they installed you to change the culture. Soon after, you learn a vendor was tired of dealing with your boss which soured that relationship, a VP from that vendor basically told your CEO that it's your old boss or them and your CEO chose them. Oh, by the way, that VP's son works for one of the groups you oversee and is one of groups which led to your old boss being fired. Maybe you don't care and would march right down to the group and tell them it's time to shape up or ship out, but that situation, forced upon you from an outside force, could definitely change the outcome of how others deal with it. Hey now, what's your proof that Joe Biden was 'the big guy' that Hunter referred to? Just because he regularly calls him that doesn't mean that's what he meant here. It was probably Shaq, he's big. That a much more logical jump.
  12. If true, good for the world. Imagine the leadership the US could have exuded if we made moves to do this with vaccines we know are effective.
  13. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2022/1/24/a-new-international-health-order-is-within-reach If their vaccines are as effective as their studies show, or even close, this is great news for the World.
  14. That is painful, hopefully a learning experience for the young reporter. That said, instead of having 'thee' Jen Psaki use more specific generalizations to batter this reporters question, maybe the person she represents could bring the democratic party to Manchin, who is one of the many people that has concerns about exactly what this reporter asked and is in much more of a power position the 'thee' Jen Psaki's boss.
  15. Kamala, black women, has a D next to her, Biden doesn't have to worry about her dragging him down further. check check and check. 🙂
  16. It's clearly going to be Kamala, right?
  17. Kind of glad Bonds and Clemens didn't get in. They HoF doesn't deserve to have them if they were going to string it out this long anyway. The writers want to make a point, fine don't let them in year 1, but 10 years, what a complete joke. Bonds should be celebrated for what he gave baseball. I'm sure I'll miss a few memorable periods of baseball, and i'm referring to long periods rather than some of the big time plays/games. But in terms of memorable periods of baseball, as a person in their mid 40's, I think the summer of McGuire/Sosa, Bonds 2001-2004, Verlander's 2011 season, and Ohtani from this year. As a baseball junkie, if I had a chance to watch Pujol's, Trout, Kershaw, etc, I'd watch them if I could, but I would go out of my way to follow those I mentioned first. Baseball needs that, Bonds gave it to them for years.
  18. It was a joke.
  19. Trust me, it was just a joke.
  20. This would be politically smart. Remember the leader of the party lives down in Florida though.
  21. One thing I do know, I like Christmas Jesus the best. Just a sweet tiny baby Jesus wearing golden fleece diaper's.
  22. It's not so much stonewalling, but simply letting the people decide.
  23. I don't think that's relevant. If you're a candidate, you're trying to prove your worthy of sitting behind that seal so it seems just as bad (if it's really that bad at all). I was listening to Breaking Points yesterday (highly recommend) and the only issue they had with Biden on this is that he called Doocy to apologize. Their point, issue a statement, move past it, but own the comment. Overall, not a big deal.
  24. I wasn't saying that you have to account for opinions you don't hold, nor the message. But, likely, you'll be more tolerant of the message, even if you don't agree with how it's delivered, if it's from a person you tend to agree with or it's an opinion you agree with. I just think that's natural for everyone, regardless if you lean to the left or right.
  25. You probably shouldn't use LeBron as an example when you're talking about hypocrisy. I pulled up his response when asked about the GM Morey/China story. In his response, replace "Daryl Morey" with whoever you personally don't like the opinion of, and even if you aren't the one screaming at them to stay silent, someone on your side definitely is.
