It's those pompous catchers thinking they are so smart. Like they could be managers or something.

"Valdez will earn base salaries of $17.5 million in 2026, $37.5 million in '27 and $35 million in '28. He has the right to opt-out of the contract following the '27 campaign. The contract also includes a mutual option for 2029 at $40 million with a $5 million buyout. Valdez will receive a $20 million signing bonus, all deferred, with payments starting in 2030. Additionally, the base salary in each year of this contract from 2027-29 may be escalated by as much as $5 million if, in the immediately preceding season, Valdez achieves the following award recognition and does not end the season on the injured list. Here are the possible escalators: Cy Young first place: $2 million Cy Young second place: $1 million Cy Young third place: $500,000 WS MVP: $2 million ALCS MVP: $1 million" https://www.mlb.com/tigers/news/framber-valdez-tigers-contract

Someone on reddit wrote "Tigers threaten but do not announce." LOL

Not even Trump wants to watch Kid Rock. He watched Bad Bunny instead. Classic Trump is always thinking about the children.

Some of them are predators. Abusers, rapists, pedophiles just like Trump.

We will overcome it. Humans have always progressed or we would still be in caves. When we were in caves, it paid to hate others because they likely would kill you and steal your stuff. That's a very stressful way to live. The other extreme is to care about everything which is also a stressful way to live. The world is chaos and we really don't have much control so caring about the environment, people, animals, etc. can get overwhelming. I think most people are somewhere in the middle and that's what we should strive for. It helps address issues without extremes one way or another. That approach gave us women's rights and equal rights along with many other benefits. We saw in WW2 extremes are very bad. Now we are seeing the effects of extreme wealth and I think it would be a mistake to over correct. We do need to reestablish truth and justice though. Do Trump and his friends really want to live in a no holds barred world? They are not the brightest or strongest. They are the most privileged class in history.

Is that where he learned that swipe tag? Hiding joints from the teachers?

We should thank Trump for proving the system is rigged, some people are above the law, billionaires are sick out of control fascists and truth doesn't matter.

I'm a little shocked but happy for Skubal. World Series or bust!
-
I think it's because I've read his name about a million times this year.
-
My bad. It's Octagon.

Boras getting Pittsburgh involved seemed to move things along for Valdez. $32 million for Skubal means Boras is looking to break records in November.

"Detroit also forfeits draft capital because Valdez rejected a qualifying offer from the Astros. They’re a revenue sharing recipient so it’s the lowest penalty, their third-highest pick in the 2026 draft. That’s currently slated to be their Competitive Balance Round B selection, which is 69th overall. The Tigers could look to trade that pick — Competitive Balance selections are the only ones that can be traded — rather than losing it as the compensatory pick. They’d then forfeit their third-round selection (#98 overall), but another team might be more willing to give up something of value for the higher draft choice and accompanying slot value that makes it worthwhile for Detroit to lose the third-rounder." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/02/tigers-framber-valdez-agree-to-three-year-deal.html

Framber and Franyerber potentially on the same team!
-
One concern is Valdez had a rough August/September.
-
It feels like a huge win they didn't have to give Valdez 6 or 7 years.

Still a bunch of negative on Reddit but my mood is improved. I was hoping they would add a #2.
