In fairness, it’s not a full season yet, so the comparisons shouldn’t matter. That doesn’t take anything away from what he’s doing, though.

My mistake-Hurter had 10 starts in Lakeland before getting promoted to WM.

Love the numbers, but in an odd way they point out the disparity between hitting and pitching prospects in this org.
He's been a AA talent pitching to A guys so far this year
Do you think he’s too old/advanced to be pitching in High A? I didn’t, considering this was his first professional experience. I guess we’ll see when he moves to Erie, either this season or next.

you guys off the dillon dingler bandwagon already?
I’m not, but I do think he’s flawed. I actually see a lot of similarities with Jake Rogers (strong arm, solid defense, HR potential, high K rate). Neither look like a sure thing, so nice to have options at C

I really want to see Barnhart, Grossman and Candelario just go away. And I don’t think I’d wait for the offseason to do it. This type of ongoing sloppy play and poor performance requires making changes. Would we be worse off with Garneau, Cameron, Hill and Clemens getting those AB’s? Perhaps, but at least most of those guys should be evaluated. They might have a future in the organization.

A couple of performers from tonight:
Our 7th round pick from last year. Like all or most of the pitchers drafted, he didn’t see any game action in 2021. Assigned to High A, his numbers look excellent—he doesn’t get discussed much, but hopefully we have another Brieske on our hands. And he’s a lefty.

Doesn’t help us for this season, but I suspect Keith will move to 3B at Erie next year. With Jung and Graham now in the pipeline, along with Wenceel, it allows them to move him to 3B to expedite his path to the majors.

Well, there’s nobody in the pipeline to take his place. We can talk about Kreidler, but I think he needs to show more. His Toledo numbers last seem a little suspect. He probably needs to show some more on base ability at AAA. I realize that sounds silly when looking at his .370 OBP at AAA, but that’s inflated by his torrid 2021.
Then a quick glance at upcoming free agents show that there’s not much to get excited about there. Oh, sure, Correa could opt out. I just don’t think breaking the bank for a guy that’s oft injured makes sense.
Factor those aspects, and I think we will see Candelario through next season.
I don’t agree that Jeimer is on the squad next season. I think if Kreidler stays healthy, he gets called up to play 3B in September. They’ll non-tender Candelario, IMO

Baddoo with a little bit of redemption—gave up two runs, but saved one.

Bullpen completely let down by Candy and Baddoo.

not a matter of punting the situation to the corp, just of availing yourself of various resources that probably would have been made available had he stayed in touch. In general it's often true that people are their worst enemy when it come to not reaching out to people that are willing and able to help them.
In truth, AJ and Al should never have shared or hinted at any issues along the way. To what end did that serve?

Sure I am. I know from experience most of that crew is pretty clueless and actually detracts from the public discourse on Tigers prospects, and that list strays enough from the consensus without any particular reason behind it. It sucks.
Prospects lists off the top of one's head without a ton of in-person scouting time or reasonable discussions with scouts and front office personnel are a waste of time and largely meaningless.
Great—looking forward to your list in a month or so when you’re able to do your due diligence. I’ll remind you.
In the meantime, I’ll enjoy reading other individual’s content for debate and discussion purposes (which is why most of us come here in the first place).

Missed that Peyton Graham signed—hope he gets into some games soon.

No Santana seems like a miss on this. I would put Santana over Campos. Other than that it's a fine list. Keith getting lots of love out there though. He was a 149 Wrc prior to getting hurt and at 20 years old so I get it but he should be in the top 3.
Agree. He’s been called out on Twitter for Santana’s omission. Carpenter is interesting—is he the real deal or another Steven Moya?

I don't have nearly enough information to put one together that would be worth a damn.
Of course. Based on your response, you’re in no place to be critical.

Kriedler in WM for a rehab stint
Nice—really would like to see him salvage the balance of the season.

If Miggy doesn’t get hurt, his career offensive stats would encroach upon the top 10 all-time in many categories. He’s not going anywhere next season—he might see his playing time reduced, but he’ll be allowed to retire on his terms. Maybe he can pitch in the blowouts?
The 40-man roster squeeze is real, but will be for all teams. The Castro boys and Candy might be vulnerable, but as others have pointed out, we have some guys with expiring contracts which will help.
