    I think Skubal will be open to a return. And I believe the Tigers will make a reasonable effort to retain him. However, I think what he’ll command and get will be unreasonable and he’ll ultimately be overpaid by someone else. It won’t be because the Tigers are cheap (always a lazy, false narrative) or because Skubal was greedy. Just business.

    I still contend that the Tigers brass did not think this was a team that could make a deep playoff run.

    Out guys were hitting most of the season. What’s happened August and September is inexplicable.

    I don’t think that was the answer. Maybe Lee or Anderson might have added a lift, but would have been hard to get an impact bat at the deadline. Ironically, Naylor looks like the guy that could have helped.
