If Skubal wins in arbitration, does it lower his trade value? Does anyone think the Tigers offered a contract similar to what David Price made in arbitration to avoid setting a precedent for a player to earn $20M+? Do any of you like movies about gladiators?

I’ve seen him around downtown Birmingham on occasion (usually the Sunday Farmer’s Market). Dude has polos and T-shirts in his repertoire, too, but he’s no slave to fashion like DD was.

Not what I said. I just don’t know how you can give Harris the credit for the Tigers hot streak, post ‘24 trade deadline. That was literally the best piece of managing, along with a lot of luck, I think I’ve ever seen since Morris Buttermaker in ‘76.

I would argue the Tigers achieved that in spite of Harris. He literally surrendered the rest of the season by selling. (Which I agreed with at the time). Let’s not turn that into something heroic.

As is always the case, we don’t agree on your assessment. He’s not a back half of the rotation starter (‘25 All Star). He’d yield more than a Max Anderson-type, especially for a team trying to manage their budget.

Don’t forget Granderson’s 20/20/20/20. Crazy thing was that Jimmie Rollins accomplished it, too.
