  1. I saw that as encouraging. Not many years at a reasonable annual rate.
  2. Major leaguers used to look like guys in your Account Receivables department.
  3. In what world does McKinstry get paid more than Ibanez?
  4. Tigers select LHP Bailey Horn from the Red Sox. 5th rounder by the White Sox in 2019. Reliever who played briefly in MLB last season.
  5. They should just bail. That community doesn’t deserve a MLB team—they have plenty of minor league options in the area if they want to see a professional game. Hello, Nashville!
  6. Not a lot, but I thought he would have been pinched next year with Wenceel, Sweeney/Baez, Vierling and Ibanez already with bench spots, before making any offseason additions. Again, the amount doesn’t necessarily commit them to carrying him next season.
  7. No mention yet of the Tigers signing Jahmai Jones to a minor league deal today? Seems like nice insurance in Toledo. Good AAA numbers, bats RH, maybe they can help him.
  8. I think he can still remain in the organization.
  9. The Indians were projected to either win the Central or close. All Vogt did was not screw that up. After Hinch, I would have picked the KC manager over Vogt.
  10. Strongly disagree. Hinch got this team to a playoff series win with about 10 rookies on the team and one legitimate starter for a good chunk of the season. At one point in the season, our entire OF was on the DL. And we sold at the trade deadline. Cleveland had superior talent and established players. I think Vogt got it as a new manager, and Hinch might still be paying a penalty for his suspension. Objectively, Hinch’s performance was better. For the first time in my 50 years following the Tigers I can honestly say that the manager played a significant role in the actual outcome of games on a consistent basis. Sparky and Leyland were great at what they did, but they also had stacked teams.
  11. They haven’t given up on him, unless he gets dealt this offseason. And he has more than ST. They might want him to continue working on things in Toledo, but they aren’t going to discard a guy who is one season removed from 30 HR’s.
  12. That confirms he’s going in with the sideways Old English D hat. Book your travel now.
  13. The next best thing to a Lions win is another embarrassing Cowboys home loss on national TV. Mike McCarthy looks hapless and Jerry looks like he’s drinking to forget. Thank God for Dan and Brad. Finally, we have the adults in charge.
  14. The uncertainty with Tork is why you grab insurance. Yes, Ill say it again—Paul Goldschmidt on a one-year.
  15. I don’t see us trading with the Royals. Also, read they are interested in Jonathan India.
  16. Lions bully reputation will be furthered after going for it on 4th and 2, with a 29 point lead. And I love it.
  17. I have seen the future and it includes Juan Soto and Walker Buehler. Hazy on the details, though.
  18. I think the idea of Luis Robert is more compelling than the reality of what we could expect. I’m not sure he’s an upgrade over Vierling at this point. And more expensive, not to mention the prospect capital that would be required to acquire him. If he’s on a decline, let’s not bail out the White Sox.
  19. I think this is right. Sunk cost, worth seeing if his surgery can fix him. If not, bring up Kreidler or Leonard as the platoon partner against LH pitching (or 50-60 games). Placeholder solution until McGonigle is ready.
  20. The concerns with Tork being able to straighten himself out are why I think we should pursue a one year deal , like Paul Goldschmidt. Can still play 1B, if necessary, or DH and provides another RH bat.
  21. Ironically, I was involved in the naming rights when it became US Cellular Field
