  1. Doctor recommended prior to the Pick the Stick portion of each pre-game.
  2. Please post your draft party pictures here. And if anyone has a killer recipe for a 7-layer dip, don’t be greedy.
  3. Nice to see. I’ve seen nothing this season to suggest that he can’t be an elite pitcher still. The pitches are there, just a matter of getting better command of them consistently. Remember that his coaching prior to this was a HS coach—he’s getting proper instruction for the first time in his life. Manning went through similar challenges.
  4. That’s fair—I actually blame him more for the first 5 years of the rebuild than the last few, where I think he’s made some inspired hires and player moves. Still, your point is valid—it’s ultimately about getting results. I hold AJ and his Hinch-men (see what I did there?) culpable, too.
  5. I don’t think so, plus I doubt we see him this season as I don’t believe he’s on the 40-man (and they’ll already need to make room for Turnbull and Rogers). Clemens has raked since being sent down and should get the nod.
  6. Clemens coming back up? We don’t have a 1B on the team.
  7. Ironically, you would have thought the position player would have the less risky.
  8. Agree with this. The pitchforks on Twitter calling for his firing wreak of laziness and group speak. I’m not his biggest fan, but I did approve of recent trades, signing and picks. This team has been victim of some rotten luck.
  9. I think there is zero chance that Miggy is playing baseball in 2024, for the Tigers or anyone else.
  10. That was a good trade and great initial contract. The length of the extension was very questionable, but it has ultimately worked out. He’s not blocking anyone and has given the fans some very memorable moments and distraction from the on-field product the last two seasons. Personally, I’m glad he’s retiring a Tiger—would not have wanted to see him elsewhere.
  11. I really don’t see them rushing anyone at the risk of further injuries. I don’t recall a precedent for that—always felt the team took a conservative approach in these situations. They clearly don’t care about fan sentiment, so I doubt that would be any influence.
  12. I don’t see Ilitch ever firing Avila. I think all we can hope for is that Al gets better at his job and some of the recent external hires, including Hinch, exert much more influence over personnel decisions.
  13. I disagree with this—his not being here has certainly helped contribute to our record this year. Additionally, we still have half a season left to figure out where the innings are going to come from. Our young guys may need to be reduced, making it more difficult to manage the innings required to finish a season. There is zero silver lining to this situation for the Tigers.
  14. Anything good on the tee-vee tonight?
  15. Would help if it 1) college baseball had a much larger following and 2) teams could trade picks.
  16. Even if we can successfully void, it’s not a win. There is an opportunity loss, considering we might have acquired a different starter last offseason, not to mention having to surrender our 3rd round pick next week.
  17. Anyone who speaks Lynn care to translate that tweet for me?
  18. We’ll look back as the day when the Tigers turnaround became real.
  19. Notably having SS Peyton Graham and P Cade Horton (both Oklahoma) ranked very high. I saw a mock (pre-CWS) that had us taking Graham in the 2nd round.
  20. Shouldn’t we be aiming higher? Comparing anyone to our hitters is an incredibly low bar.
  21. I’d avoid Susac, too. Sounds like a guy who could be “Munsoned” (Eric).
  22. I think 4-5 will be (Cross and Jung likely gone).
  23. 1. Cross 2. Jung 3. Crawford 4. Prielipp 5. Porter 6. Young
  24. It would wreak havoc with the 40-man, but I’d love to see similar roster upheaval for the Tigers vs Jays. A bit of a cautionary tale for any AAA players to make sure they are all vaxxed, if presented the opportunity for a COVID-related call-up.
  25. The first round should not be used to draft potential bullpen arms. If you draft a pitcher you should have some confidence that he can be a starter, until proven otherwise later.
