Isn’t the primary reason to draft a QB more of a developmental opportunity? Of course having a good backup QB in the event of an injury wouldn’t be awful either—if Goff had a serious injury, it would likely sabotage the season.
I enjoy the individual player write-ups. I don’t give a shit about their rankings, whether within the organization or compared to other teams prospects.
I think they'll keep him around as a useful utility guy, but really hoping that someone else (Maton, Kreidler, Wenceel) pushes him out of a starting spot before the AS break.
