  1. I think we're overthinking it. He's a proven major league pitcher who has had previous success. Not great, but we need innings, especially after losing four members from last year's pen. He's not blocking anyone--If he doesn't pitch well, cut him. I have the exact same attitude toward Schoop.
  2. yes. praying for another transaction soon to divert our focus.
  3. Does Jose Cisnero warrant this much attention? Both the spelling of his last name and his inexpensive contract are pretty insignificant.
  4. In MLB, the owners instituted the lottery to pacify the players union, who felt teams were going on the cheap to save payroll and tank.
  5. MLB started a lottery this year. The Tigers benefited and moved up 3 spots.
  6. Are Mize and Skubal alive in 2029? Asking for a friend.
  7. That’s complete bullshit—I’ve been told here that the offseason has already ended.
  8. I think only two years into his professional coaching career is asking a bit much in terms of building an assistant coach factory. I’d prefer to have another year or two with some stability and let his coaching tree take root. The fact that BC and AJ are getting interviews is validation that he is on the right path.
  9. At the risk of messing with anyone’s ability to get to sleep because of the excitement and anticipation, I will be posting my proposed 2028 starting lineup tomorrow. Stay tuned…
  10. I didn’t think the Sewell or Hutch picks were unexpected. Agree with the athleticism, but would be surprised to see him ignore the defense unless he either thinks he can address in free agency or believes that this is a two-draft (2024) fix.
  11. Agree, but he was working with damaged goods. I’m sure Twins fans are excited about signing a guy long term who doesn’t want to be there, but ran out of options.
  12. Use a later round and take a flyer on Herndon, Haener, Duggan or Bennett. Please address the D with rounds 1-2, and get a OL, TE and RB in the middle rounds. But ultimately agree that Holmes gets the benefit of the doubt to do whatever he wants.
  13. Yeah, Red Sox Nation is going to be even more pissed now. Not used to a Red Sox team conceding a season so dramatically.
  14. I like Correa, and was very vocal about wanting him to come here. However, If you look at his stats from last season, he didn’t really earn that contract. Of course that could be said of many others, so I guess there is a new standard. Kind of glad we stayed out of it as I think the majority of those contracts will become albatrosses sooner than later. Doesn’t help us much now, though.
  15. He’s unlikely to make up the $100M difference after this contract is over, which tells you that his medicals were troublesome
  16. Agree. Minny got a good deal because they were the only ones willing to take the chance. Will be interesting to see what the Mets do next. I don’t think they need to, but Cohen was very public in saying they needed another bat in Correa.
  17. I know Vierling's arm plays in RF, but his speed is very well suited to LF in Comerica. I can't even remember where Meadows plays--does he have the arm to play in RF? I like the idea of Maton at SS (or someone else for that matter), but I doubt Hinch moves Baez from there. It's one thing, potentially, if you sign someone like Correa, but I doubt Javy would be super receptive to move for Nick Maton.
  18. Agree. Plus we have enough potential “failed starters” in the org that might be better suited to pitching 1-2 innings at a time.
  19. Even Dombrowski couldn’t trade Fields.
  20. I’d like him so much better if Shreve was his first name.
  21. Ahhh—missed Edman’s post, so didn’t have the proper context. On further review, I’ll allow it.
  22. Why bring this up on January 9th? We’ve already moved on from the previous front office.
