Who cares about any comparison between Stafford and Goff? The question is should the Lions burn a 1st rounder at a position that doesn’t appear to be in need of an upgrade (vs using if to improve our defense).
Also, if anyone saw the game between OSU and Harbaugh’s babies, you would not use a top-10 pick on Stroud.
I’m happy to ride 2023 with our current offense and use our 1st and 2nd rounders to upgrade the D.
Once Rodon signs, I think we move ERod to one of the bridesmaids. He has a team friendly contract. Even if he opted out, he’s a huge bargain for a good team at $14M for next season. Probably our best trade chip.
San Francisco played .500 ball and are way behind SD and LA. They also lost out on other free agents this offseason.
Correa followed the money. And if a better offer came from Detroit, he’d have signed with us.
Thank God we “missed out.” SF made a horrible deal that they will likely start to regret in 7-8 years, if not sooner.
I’m not sure what Baez would need to do to get the stink of 2022 off of him for a team to take on the remainder of his contract. He’s ours, for better or worse.
No real tradable assets, some bad contracts and injured pitchers.
Reminds of when Dombrowski took over. It took him a while to erase the sins of his predecessors.
Only reacting to what is being speculated. It’s the best we can do at this point until more moves take place. Harris is being forced to navigate this offseason with his hands tied behind his back, so we need to be realistic about our expectations.
Kind of depressing if true. Sounds like we want to ride with the kids for next season.
Seth Lugo and Adam Frazier feels like a Michael Pineda and Jordy Mercer redux.
I think what distinguishes him is his age, pitch recognition, quick ascent and strong performance in the AFL. The only thing he has in common with Demeritte is the team we acquired him from.
Looking forward to see what he can do in a full season at AAA in Toledo.
It’s also the reason to trade ERod while you can. He’ll only make $14M this season, which should make him very attractive in trade with any of the teams who lose out on Carlos Rodon.
Baez has to return closer to his career averages if he hopes to get the stink of 2022 off him.
This would be the best outcome for everyone, especially the Tigers. I’m not counting on it, though.
