  1. I think everyone, including Team Miggy, would be OK with an injury that cuts significantly into his playing time. I just want the Tigers to provide the guy with the opportunity to leave on his own terms.
  2. here, here! I'm also part of Team Miggy, for the reasons you list. F the haters!
  3. Does Tork = Laga in your example? Asking for a friend.
  4. Not at all—I think his milestone chase did positively impact attendance (I personally made it to his 3000th hit—one of only two games I went to). However, once that was over, his presence likely had very little impact on attendance. And I suspect he’ll have none in 2023, except for his retirement ceremony.
  5. Without knowing how much he received, that looks like a good fit.
  6. It’s a good plan. He might even get injured during the World Games prior to the season.
  7. I guess I’m not arguing that some might have thought that early last season as milestones were being chased. I seriously doubt anyone now believes that—and if they do, their forum access should be immediately suspended, along with public shaming and a good flogging.
  8. No one really believes that. There is zero reason to find anything positive in him being part of next year’s roster, except for his retirement celebration. It’s a sad end to a first ballot HOF career.
  9. I think I am stupider reading the last 30-40 posts. And I don’t have any IQ points to spare. I know this is a forum to speculate, but I find it interesting that there is so much conviction and confidence while commenting on a situation that no one really knows anything about. We don’t even have an offseason to evaluate how the new front office is going to approach building a roster.
  10. This forum is in desperate need of a Tigers transaction—any type will do.
  11. Sign Lamar Jackson, draft two studs for our defense with our first rounders and address TE and RB in rounds 2-4. And then start printing playoff tix.
  12. The first prospect is Junk
  13. Then why did we sign Bligh Madris, LH hitting OF, after cutting Reyes?
  14. Somebody’s “hangry”
  15. too lazy to look, but if Candelario's splits hitting LH were not great, Harris has gone on record as saying he wants to find a LH bat for our infield. If you believe that Tork, Schoop and Baez are relatively set, then 3B is where you address that. Of course, I think Schoop could easily slide over to 3B. I believe he's played there before, has a very strong and acccurate arm and with the new rule outlawing the shift, his mobility (or lack of) might be better suited at 3B. Of course, he could also become a super-sub, too.
  16. Did the entire lineup have a bum wrist? Everyone fell off last season, except for Harold. Still hard to understand/explain.
  17. Why risk cutting him if you really want him back? To save a couple of million $? I don’t understand that, unless they didn’t see him as their clear-cut 3B upon returning.
  18. don't forget Greene. stockpiling prospects was not a bad strategy, but we should have dealt some of them at their peak for proven players.
  19. So, you’re saying we’ve never been hurt by this.
  20. We might still get our QB, just not how we expected.
  21. How we feeling? 11-6 is inevitable <ducks> Will be funny if the Rams draft pick ends up being better than our own.
  22. Baez’ swing is what I expect mine would look like if I played in MLB.
  23. I respectfully disagree. There were zero surprises for me. And I’ve been underwhelmed with his dumpster diving, including the OF he grabbed yesterday. I’m not concerned—as I outlined, nothing so far has been significant. Now that the roster has been settled, we can start to evaluate moving forward.
  24. All he’s done is clear some spots and pick up a few lottery tickets. The cuts were almost administrative—they were very obvious. Not excited about any of the minor league acquisitions he’s made. I agree he is just getting started, but I can’t get excited or give him credit for anything yet—moving forward is where things should get interesting.
