  1. I was Jeimer’s biggest cheerleader since we traded for him. I’m done, though. Time to move on.
  2. I would think we’d want to get closer to 30 with this list, allowing for players we need to protect, and some room for the Rule 5 draft and free agent signings.
  3. Sounds like another party opportunity.
  4. Not sure about your advice, but you were one of my favorite Bond movies.
  5. I don't understand the argument. A few of us have suggested that Correa might be the best and most realistic high profile SS signing for some obvious reasons--lack of draft pick attached to him, familiarity with Hinch and is the only one (so far) who has expressed an interest in changing teams. Personally, I like all four of them. I just don't see the other three leaving. Red Sox have expressed that Boegarts is their top priority, the Dodgers usually aren't outbid, and don't have a SS ready to replace Turner, and I think the Braves likely learned from the Freddie Freeman debacle, and won't do that again. of course, we might not end up pursuing a free agent SS at all. with zero track record with the Tigers, it's probably futile to guess what Harris will ultimately do.
  6. I want to prioritize fixing SS and the lineup. Correa is still young, won’t cost us draft capital and is looking for another team (presumably). Good walk rate and power. I don’t think the other free agent SS will ultimately switch teams (Swanson, Boegarts, Turner). Would be open to all of them, too.
  7. The issue will be how patient the Tigers will be. Correa signing makes sense—position of a need, fits within our payroll, won’t cost a draft pick and seems to align with Harris’ player philosophy.
  8. Yeah, I think he might be done
  9. I’ll be sick if the Guardians make the WS.
  10. He held his own in limited time in the bigs. Given our injury issues, he’s gotta be in the conversation to be in our rotation next April.
  11. Is the greater risk his attitude/teammate lack of respect or that his performance might have been enhanced?
  12. Wish there was a way that both the Yankees and Guardians could somehow lose.
  13. anyone concerned that Harris' Giants went from the best record in MLB in 2021, to a .500 team this season, despite signing free agents (Rodon and Pederson)?
  14. Agree. Everyone has strong opinions of who should be taken off of the 40-man, rightfully so. However as easy as it will be to cut players, it will be equally difficult to replace them with playoff-caliber talent. When I get excited or optimistic about guys like Keith, Jung, Perez and lil' Meadows, I'm reminded about how much our more heralded and sure-thing prospects Tork and Greene struggled--with little evidence that they will come close to their potential. This will be a 3-year process, at least. And there is little evidence that Harris will be the guy--I'm optimistic, but there is a bit of blind faith required. At least he was part of two organizations that saw success, and hopefully his contributions were significant. It will be interesting if he takes a patient approach, similar to Avila, or makes moves that might be inconsistent with how he would normally approach building a roster by making a bigger splash into free agency, which is his only avenue to improve the major league team in 2023-24.
  15. Hoping we bring Jonah Hill into the new front office.
  16. RIP, Bruce Sutter. He was 69 years old.
  17. They’ll go with youth there. Even they can’t afford to pay $30M at each position. As it is, they will struggle to get Judge signed.
  18. Correa will be a Tiger. Write it down.
  19. Yes, it could have been a very different outcome over the last 7 seasons if he and Mr I don’t have their falling out.
  20. Agree—just going to get exposed more, unless he finds some plate discipline like Parker seems to have.
  21. Geez, that’s troubling. Could become a re-do, similar to what Holmes is attempting with the Lions.
  22. Agree. This guy is unlikely to see any significant playing time and not worthy of this much speculation. He will only be notable as the answer to a future trivia question—who was Harris’ first acquisition?
  23. The guy we’re trying to dump? If Fetter’s reputation is as good as we think, that won’t enhance his trade value. Next year won’t be a rebuild or “tank” but will be equally painful to enjoy as we start to dig out of the sinkhole this season created.
  24. I think I want to see a Yankees v Dodgers WS. 1981, redux
  25. Kinda disrespected him, as it’s Colt Keith. Just sayin’
