A clear cut defensive position is certainly one. Anyone else can be had—and our top 10-15 prospects are not fodder. We have depth we can trade from without compromising any sustained future success.

I think we’re giving too much credence to some ESPN slappy who is just throwing out ideas for clicks/chatter. I suspect at least 75% of the folks in here are more qualified to put forward more thoughtful and realistic proposals.

A Zenyatta Mendatta? Again? That’s the 35th time this season.

I can think of a couple of big differences between the two of them.

These power rankings are bull**** and not worth getting worked up over, but I think the first 3 games of the season, especially when the Dodgers had the advantage of already having a couple of regular season games under their belts when they faced us, should be immaterial.

I find myself, like others, doing a lot of scoreboard watching. In addition to seeing if the teams in our division lost, I also care about Houston and Yankees losing, so we can avoid the Wild Card round. I also want the Dodgers to lose so that we have supremacy over them. Also, I like seeing teams that are on the bubble for Wild Card contention in each league lose, so ideally there will be more sellers than buyers at the deadline. Basically, I want almost every team losing. And I want everything painted black, black as night.

Wonder if the Tigers would like to see him beat up on AA pitching prior to the trade deadline?

Maybe we should stop sending him down to Toledo.

Let’s hope Holton and Hanifee are getting closer to last season. Would help solidify our biggest question mark so far.
