Flaherty should move to the pen. Would be dominant for 1-2 innings. If the Tigers want hom to opt out. They should tell him that’s how they plan to use him. Agree that Mize could get dealt. Would create another hole, but they could patch via other trades/signings. I could see Tork getting dealt, too. Maybe a run after Pete Alonzo. I think they will go after 1-2 established bats after the way this season ended.

I think Skubal will be open to a return. And I believe the Tigers will make a reasonable effort to retain him. However, I think what he’ll command and get will be unreasonable and he’ll ultimately be overpaid by someone else. It won’t be because the Tigers are cheap (always a lazy, false narrative) or because Skubal was greedy. Just business.
