  1. I don’t understand your assumption—Harris came out when he spoke to Keith moving to 1B and said that Tork would have a role if they saw improvements in his offseason and ST performance. I haven’t seen anything reported that would suggest any decisions have been made on his status.
  2. There is risk with Jung, but his hitting performance was encouraging in his limited time last season (much better when you compare it to how Keith started the year). The defense is concerning, but in fairness, he was learning 3B in ‘24. With Lee and McGonigle coming (soon), I don’t see a path back to 2B for him. If we don’t sign Bregman, or get another external 3B solution, Vierling will likely platoon there. In that instance, I think we go after a RH OF (Grichuk?). Another scenario is Jung/Ibanez platoon at 3B and Carpenter/Vierling in RF, which would open up AB’s at DH for Tork, if he demonstrates in ST that he can handle it.
  3. Astros traded Tucker for Paredes—they won’t give him away. Maybe if they have a bad contract that they could package with him.
  4. I can’t ever fault an athlete for that. No one tries to get hurt and injuries often come from hustle or bad luck.
  5. Kick the tires on Yoan Moncada?
  6. I don’t like creating a big hole to fill another. We’re not desperate to get a 3B—we have in-house options.
  7. I think his desire to stay home with the only organization he’s played with isn’t a slight towards Detroit (or Boston, Toronto, etc.). He might also be aware of the challenges he has had hitting in Comerica during his career.
  8. Not sure what to believe anymore, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were true. I suspect Alex wants to go back to Houston and will wait that out until he’s forced. I don’t see the Tigers pivoting away from him with external options—the fallback is likely Jung/Vierling, so the Tigers can wait this out, too.
  9. Good. Dodged that bullet. Now we need Bregman to go back to the ‘Stros.
  10. Until Skubal is prepared to make a long term commitment himself, his opinion is irrelevant.
  11. I toned it down—should have seen the original 🤣. If you’re ever willing to brave coming back to Detroit for a visit, I’ll happily show you around. I promise you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
  12. This really is nuts, and not grounded in any sort of reality (that can be proven). There are the Los Angeles Dodgers and then there is everyone else, which lumps Detroit in, too. No sure if you got your ass kicked in Detroit, or just had your lunch money stolen, but not everyone shares your dim view.
  13. Some interesting choices
  14. I’m more interested in Bregman the influence than the player. But I wouldn’t shell out $150M for that.
  15. I think Old Friend, Jack Flaherty, is suffering from some Jordan Montgomery PTSD with teams. Some red flags in his profile that give teams pause to commit beyond a few seasons. Plus, not suggesting there is collusion, but I think teams probably revel in Boras squirming to discredit him. With obvious players like Soto, Burnes and Fried, there will always be a bidding frenzy, but the next tier (Bregman, Flaherty and Alonzo), might be collateral damage.
  16. I’m assuming they are working from a very tight budget. Or might be waiting for prices to drop as free agents get nervous.
  17. Speculation is that Paredes would move to 2B to free up 3B for Bregman. Altuve to LF. Again, only speculation.
  18. Well, he’s already got Tiger Blood, so there’s that.
  19. I agree. This will likely be a regrettable contract for some team.
  20. Can’t blame Presley, really. Probably still smarting after getting swept in the playoffs by a team filled with rookies and no-names. And Bregman signs with us this week.
  21. Ok—replace political with controversial. Still zero reason to keep the player out.
