So glad I decided to go at the last minute. And surprisingly I even stayed till the end and didn’t leave when they were losing since that’s usually what happens there. What a game. What a team. El Mago so nice to see you again

I think this is spot on. And I agree with this philosophy. I love Skubal..I will be in Anaheim rooting for him Friday as it was the easiest of the four games to choose. Having said that losing him is not a poison pill.

Hard to answer not knowing the return but none of them which doesn't answer your question. So to be fair maybe Liranzo or Rainer if the return is very solid with multiple years of control. Certainly not for a half season bat or reliever even with years say 1 plus year of control. I would prefer to trade from our pitching depth since we seem to develop it so say Montero, Jaden Hamm, Melton, Owen Hall. I think they would bring back a good enough return while maintaining our core minor league talent/depth.

So it's Late July 2026 and the Tigers are bound for the playoffs but not World Series favorite AND have exhausted all efforts to sign Skubal to an extension. What do you do ?

And to add in my opinion we are not signing Skubal. Not with Boras involved.

No way I am giving 400 million to a pitcher and neither is Mike I or Harris for that matter. This team's identity is now based on depth and not dependent on any one player. Many "good" players and a few great ones before they become expensive and when they do flip them for more "good" players and added depth. That's how they will roll.
