I now feel better. Thanks. -
Good point and I think he has strong numbers in Citi field as well. Or maybe he prefers the National League or Cohen will keep adding players.

Why leave the Yankees for essentially the same money ? Legacy must not matter at all I guess.

True but we don’t have to trade him for an established third baseman. That can come in a separate deal. Maybe a real good pitching prospect equally rated. -

If Ha-Seong-Kim's right arm heals 100 % and he can play short I would go four years for him since he could be our shortstop until McGonigle is ready and at worst be a super upgrade for McStinky. But will his arm heal ? If he an't play shortstop we do not need him. Again I see him returning to SD on a one year prove he's ok deal. Or LA snagging him. -

You are correct as usual I wouldn’t have any problem trading Jung. In fact given the high rating he has I would be inclined to trade him soon before he exposes himself more as an over rated prospect by playing in the show. In hindsight, which even blind squirrels are good at, we could have gotten a nice haul for Torkelson after his 30 homer season. Easy to say I know but back to Jung he might bring us a player who fits our needs better. Indecision is a losing proposition. -

Your observation is astute as always and for my limited and humble evaluation I agree. My opinion is not fair because he just screams linebacker to me and not an agile defender. Limited range and arm without the foot speed for the outfield and too short for first base. I doubt the current admin would have drafted him. He has a good eye and seems like a “baller” but unless he starts slamming home runs I’m not feeling it perhaps unfairly and incorrect. -

Let's hope not. Kevin McGonigle is our BEST minor leaguer in my book. I'm betting he handles shortstop just fine and Rainer plays third. Clark, McGonigle,Greene, Carpenter, Briceno, Liranzo, Keith, Rainer and Meadows 1-9. Nobody gets traded to disturb this. They rest can all be bartered. 2027 mid season latest for all to be activated. Something to be hopeful for. In the meantime let's get some 1 to 2 year veterans to keep us in the playoffs. -

What are the Cubs looking for in return ? Who do you think it would take to get him ? -
He should take it. The ballpark fits him and he seems comfortable being an Astro and they are a winning organization. Plus no State taxes.

I've always liked Kim but it's dicey due to his right shoulder injury might limit his effectiveness on the left side of the diamond. I guess it's a low cost gamble. -

Haha 🤣 you’re welcome. Agree Arenado at first is a nonstarter. I think it only works short term in an emergency if during the season Tork bombs out and Jung blossoms at third beyond our greatest expectations. -

Well it seems over the next two weeks or so Harris will show his hand and a better glimpse into his future "modus operandi" which seems heavily entrenched on drafting and development which is solid IMO. However that only goes so far and needs to be complimented with good trades and solid free agents which we are yet to see. Perhaps he has a high bar for trades/hires or he's bit gun shy. I don't know but his opening presser statement of taking "calculated risks" has yet to show itself. We do know the left side of the infield is in dire need of attention. Sweeny seems thin to me, Baez well..nuff said, which equals a potential disaster at shortstop and playing an outfielder(Verling) and poor not ready defender(Jung) at third is like using duct tape of a hose leak. It works fine until it doesn't. And I LOVE duct tape. Ever since Harris cut Candy loose we have been searching for a third baseman. Admittingly they are somewhat rare but next week at the meetings Harris should address this and there must be other options to overpaying Bregman since 6/167 will not get him signed IMO. Arenado would work for me if the give back is mostly taking on salary not projects. He won't hit much but he will field the position and allow Verling to cover right field solidifying two spots defensively. That's big because we will once again rely on pitching in 2025. As far as Arenado fitting in I think that's over rated. You win and everyone gets along just fine. -
I totally agree with you I just hope we can speed it up bit so I can counter Dodger fans with something more than "Let's talk football " !!

Must be nice to be a Dodger fan

That’s a perfectly good option if we’re in playoff position. If not then have to trade. -
Quit slacking 😊

Insurance in case they need McStinkys roster spot.

It’s called Scot Boras who still thinks current GMs don’t have the analytics he has. He was ahead of that but no longer and the price he wants are stupid. -

Happy for Skubal but I don’t care if they trade him as long as the return helps the team more than keeping him. I’m tired of the team handcuffed with bad contracts anyway. -

Tork is going to be on First base opening day. It's very clear player development is the path Harris is taking. He is very good at drafting and development and waiver wire grabs. Not so sure how good of trader he is of yet, seems overly cautious which might be ok, and Illitch will spend reluctantly but Harris knows that if he pays for a Lemon he could be golfing with Al..and Baez-Zimmerman-etc etc... -
NO. OJ proved hormones rule.
