outfield defense is the teams biggest weakness. We are average to below average in every spot. And Hill is not a regular nor as good as his highlight plays suggest. Haase said the ball was slippery. I wish he would have said " I never should have thrown to third with the runner STANDING on the bag". His play was at second but he did not know Soto was covering home. But it all started with 8 straight balls by Soto which is inviting disaster.

So in the morning we wake up in the cellar but only two games out in the loss column with 146 games to go. We're going to be fine. We have the depth. Baez looks like a star, Meadows a solid contributer and Torkelson the real deal. Again just need to tighten the defense and get to warm weather. I bet they break out in LA of all places. This is a good point but G2's point rings true. Can a manager in that situation place Hasse in for Miggy at DH and Garneau at catcher ? Is that within the rules ? That way if Garneau gets hurt Hasse can catch and we lose the DH. I hope they stick with Hasse. It is still very early. Tough to come in the ice bowl after warming on the bench for 8 innings. It freezes the brain. True. We saw it tonight.

I look at that as a positive in that we have huge upside that’s bound to surface. And we are enduring the hardest part of the schedule. With players returning from injury and others improving up to their normal performance level combined with an improving schedule we have a snowball rolling downhill. Wait for it and enjoy it

We should not punt on this year. The division could be ripe for the picking. Maybe we are better next year but So could the rest of the division. Losing Green really hurt on both sides of the ball. If we can hang in until he returns I like our chances. Breskie looks like a keeper and Skubal is stepping up. We have deep pitching. Just need to tighten up defensively. The hitting with Green is sufficient.

Torks defense is the least of our worries. Pop ups need work. Baez’s thumb is number one with starting pitching health second and outfield defense third and Badoo fourth. The hitters will eventually come around but Badoo worries me.
