The sports talk radio here is all crying about losing Seager and still hating on Correa for 2017 World Series. They would probably quiet down if he signs with the Dodgers though. I really thought they LOVED Seager.

Well at least if the Tigers do they now have Texas as cover....no State tax in Texas just saved Seager about 40 million over CaliNewsome taxes.

If Story snd Baez are both over 200 perhaps its best to pivot to Chris Taylor at 4yrs/80 million, plug the hole for 2022 and keep developing looking for an everyday shortstop.

Texas really blew up the shortstop market. Greedy rangers had to have two of the five ! The market for Correa is certainly set now at 10 years and between 325 to 341. Does Mikie wanna play ???

Agree with you . Manning is highest realistic trade bait Tigers will consider trading for a young shortstop. Get Abrams from San Diego. Take Myers if needed. But I agree with other posters Gray was real good value at 4/56 and Ray makes me hesitate at big money.

Robbie Ray ? Does Al have a trade on tap for a shortstop ? Dejong , Walls or maybe Kim ? Can Al pivot that fast ? I don't see it.Lets go Al. Snooze you lose.

Very sad to see Matt Boyd go. Solid pitcher and individual. Wonder what he wanted and was offered.

Probably lots of action in Baseball before the freeze. As for us will we sign a shortstop and what will happen with Boyd. I think at the end of the day the Dodgers will keep Seager, the Yankees get Correa, Story signs with Texas, Semien a Giant and we end up with Baez. But I don't know anything and can only speculate.

Don't forget over 10 years those "young kids" will get expensive but fair enough I hope you (we) get your player but if not don't despair. Baez is only a year older than Carlos so his shelf life should last 5 years and his salary will be off the books when Skubal-Mize-Green and Tork contracts surge.

I really like Correa but as a business owner I am choosing Baez every time if it’s those two choices. Or should I say Baez plus the other player 9 million brings me and the salary flexibility of 215 million dollars. Your heart is too a flutter for Carlos my friend.

Based on everything Al has said "no drunken sailor" and "measured approach" Baez seems a fit and as we have all noticed Al basically tells everyone what he is trying to do. I am perfectly fine with Baez and sure it will be 6 years or less and 150 or less. Might even be 6/150 with an opt out after year 2 or 3. Not Correa but a HUGE lift for our team all in the same.

I doubt any of the top shortstops will accept a short term or front loaded deal to play in Comerica to reset their future market. Fair or not the impression seems to be "Death Valley" for hitters.

I still can not support the druggies. Bonds and Clemens in particular. Bonds as all time HR champion is a fraud.
