  1. Ooops, I forgot the game was in LA, Wood was still the pitcher. Stupid as the rule is, the starting pitcher has to go five to get the win regardless of any other information. It could have been a coin toss who to actually give the win to with no rhyme or reason.
  2. Wood could not be the winning pitcher because he did not go 5 innings. Rogers was the active pitcher when Longoria hit his HR so it defaults to him.
  3. Contraction is nothing more than owners using leverage to gain something. It would never happen.
  4. Just spit balling . . . . . American League East – TB, BOS, NYY, BAL North – TOR, CLE, DET, CWS South – KC, TEX, HOU, San Antonio/Las Vegas West – MIN, OAK, LAA, SEA National League East – PHI, NYM, WAS, Montreal North – STL, MIL, CC, COL South – MIA, CIN, PIT, ATL West – SF, LAD, SD, ARZ 18 games vs each division rival; 8 games vs every other team in league; 4 interleague games vs each team, one division, 4-year rotation (no natural rivals every year) Sample post-season using this year’s records: (no wild card, best record is home, all are 7 game series) TB vs SEA; HOU vs CWS; PHI vs SF; ATL vs MIL (BOS, NYY, LAD, STL don't make it - hahaha)
  5. The appeal is to have an even number of teams in each league so an interleague series is not required every day of the season.
  6. Two 16-team leagues with 4 divisions each would be ideal. Only take the leader in each division, maybe a couple wild cards to keep it interesting.
  7. Mize, Skubal or Manning will not be traded any time soon, for anyone. Pitching wins championships and these three have shown awesome glimpses into the future.
  8. I believe we can look at Mondays makeup game as a one game series that has the potential of another series win!!
  9. How in the heck is Angel Hernandez still a major league umpire???
  10. Agreed, especially at his age . . . but . . . time for him to come full circle and be Kenny Rogers for the big three.
  11. I think the trick to start the season in 2022 is to platoon Hill and Greene in CF and Daz and Baddoo in LF. Give Grossman an occasional break using the platooners. See what shakes out and go with the hot hand. Spend the FA money on a couple of familiar starters and a lefty for the pen. Extend Candelario. And no extended trips to the DL. 1. Hill/Greene CF 2. Schoop 2B 3. Grossman RF 4. Cabrera DH – spot start at 1B 5. Candy 3B 6. Torkelson 1B 7. Haase C 8. Krieder SS 9. Daz / Baddoo RF Bench – Garneau (he has earned it) and the Castro brothers Rotation - Mize, Skubal, Manning, JV, Scherzer Pen – Alexander, Fulmer, Funkhouser, Soto, Cisnero, Wentz/Boyd, FA Lefty
  12. ....and the Tigers 'get two for the price of one', Krieder to Schoop to Torkelson!
